New care service born from Covid restrictions

Loveday & Co offers luxury care homes and day clubs in Kensington, Chelsea and other parts of London. Covid-19 restrictions meant many Loveday & Co members were unable to attend the organisation's day clubs during the pandemic, resulting in the birth of a new home care service.

Gabriela Zackova is managing director of Loveday at Home and director of dementia and wellbeing for Loveday & Co.

Ms Zackova said: “We are so proud to be able to offer the same highly sought-after services and activities available at Loveday residences to people in their homes.

“Born from demand from the community and to accommodate our Members who were not able to access our Day Club due to Covid restrictions, Loveday at Home enables people to continue living in the familiar environment of their home, whilst receiving outstanding care and enjoying all the exciting activities Loveday has to offer.

“From having hot, nutritious meals served through to enjoying luxurious treatments, accessing engaging workshops and receiving personalised, consistent care, Loveday at Home offers exceptional services designed to enrich the lives of all the people we have the privilege of caring for.”

The new care service Loveday at home offers anything from a few hours of support a week to 24/7 live-in care. Laurence Geller is the co-founder and the chief executive of Loveday & Co.

Announcing the new care service on Loveday & Co's website, Mr Geller, said: “We are thrilled to launch our latest care service Loveday at Home designed to deliver the same exceptional level of care, experiences and lifestyle services as expected within a Loveday Residence to people in their homes."

Loveday at Home based on outstanding Chelsea care home

Home care service Loveday at Home is based on Loveday & Co's CQC outstanding-rated care home Chelsea Court Place.

Loveday at Home offers advice, therapies, activities and property services to people needing care. It carries out care and lifestyle assessments for each person receiving care. Therapies and treatments include music and art therapy, improved nutrition, physiotherapy, exercise and hydrotherapy to boost people's wellbeing.

In 2021, Mr Geller was appointed Ministerial Advisor on Concussion in Sport. He is tasked with advising the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport on the prevention of sport-related head injuries, the long-term effects on those who play sport and player welfare improvements.

Both Mr Geller's parents lived with dementia and he is chancellor of the University of West London where he founded the Geller Institute of Memory and Aging.

Activities and excursions at Loveday at Home have been developed with academics from the University of West London. They incorporated in-house or online activities and excursions involving arts and culture, gastronomy, exercise, mind and memory, that also suit people’s hobbies and interests.

The home care provider says people using Loveday at Home can benefit from ‘concierge services’ including companionship, transport, planning events, booking appointments and social scheduling.

For those with dementia and for frail, older clients, access to property design help is available to maintain mobility etc and the home care service also has a handyman and IT experts to carry out work in people’s homes.
