Home care provider Cera, which makes over 40,000 visits a day to people’s homes, is hosting recruitment open days and will give a £500 ‘golden hello' bonus to all new professional carers starting work at the company.
Cera, offers care, nursing, telehealth and repeat prescription services to people in their own homes by harnessing the power of technology.
Describing itself as providing care services equivalent to several dozen hospitals or 1,000 care homes, the home care provider is hosting open days at 30 of its UK branches to attract people to start a career in care.
‘The feeling of caring is incomparable’
Skills For Care estimates 105,000 vacancies are advertised in England’s care sector on an average day and as part of Cera's recruitment drive across England, Scotland and Wales, the home care firm says it wants to ‘recruit, train, certify and deploy new professional carers ‘in a matter of days’.
To attract new recruits, Cera recently introduced a £500 ‘golden hello' bonus applicable to new professional carers joining Cera.
Felix Wetzel, Cera’s director of Carer Acquisition said: “Over the past two years, the majority of us have experienced what it's like to care for people outside of our families - from staying at home to protect the most vulnerable, checking in on an elderly neighbour or dropping off food for someone in isolation.
“The feeling of caring and making a difference to the lives of others is incomparable.
“It doesn’t matter what stage of your career you’re at, if you’re reliable, empathetic and friendly, it's time to consider joining the caring profession.”
Cera was co-founded by entrepreneur Dr Ben Maruthappu. The company says its technology helps home care workers give people better care at home as it predicts changes in a person’s condition fast and reduces hospitalisations by up to 45 per cent.
