Nearly a million disabled and older people receive care at home so they can stay living independently in their own homes. This includes help with getting dressed, washed, preparing meals and drinks and administering medication.
To help those looking for care, the leading reviews site, homecare.co.uk has published its 2022 list of the UK’s top home care agencies.
The Top 20 home care awards run by homecare.co.uk are based on the home care provider’s reviews from the people they care for, plus their friends and relatives.
This is done by homecare.co.uk compiling thousands of reviews of home care agencies looking at elements such as the quality of care, overall standard, staff, management as well as value for money.
There are 10,641 home care providers in the UK.
Amanda Hopkins, reviews manager of homecare.co.uk, said: “Top quality home care is crucial as it enables people to continue living in their own homes and maintain their independence, with their home care worker often becoming their friend and companion.
“The past two years have been particularly hard for disabled and older people, as many were forced to self-isolate to protect themselves from Covid, with care workers playing a vital role in keeping them mentally and physically well.”
She added: “Our reviews are by those who receive home care as well as their family and friends. This helps others to search for the right care provider, where compassion, trust and empathy are at the heart of their care.”
The homecare.co.uk Top 20 Home Care Awards are based on over 21,500 reviews by people receiving home care as well as their friends and family between 1 April 2020 and 31 March 2022.
