With more than 200 UK offices, home care provider Bluebird Care is expanding in Scotland with a new office in Inverclyde & Renfrewshire, following one man's struggle to find care for his dad.

The branch has been opened in Paisley by local husband and wife Onker and Jaswant Bhart, as a result of Onker’s battle to try to get good support for his late father.

Mr Bhart decided to run his own home care business “so that others did not have to face the same challenges”.

As managing directer at Bluebird Care Inverclyde & Renfrewshire, Onker Bhart said: “Everyone is entitled to the highest standards of person-centred care at home, and they should always have the freedom, independence, dignity, and respect to remain living in the comfort of their own home.”

The home care business has care assistant jobs available and the couple are encouraging people “whatever their experience” to apply for a job at the branch.

Bluebird Care Inverclyde & Renfrewshire plans to host an official launch event in the next few months.

Mr Bhart said he hopes to bring “exciting career opportunities to the Renfrewshire and Inverclyde communities, as we believe that care assistants are highly skilled and are an integral part of society.

“We recognise this with great pay rates, opportunities and benefits that acknowledge their incredible contribution to those they care for”.
