We are proud to announce that Paula (director) of Ebor Home Care has won the York Press Community Pride Award for Carer of The Year.
Paula received the most nominations out of everyone at the awards. She was blown away after finding out hundreds of people were nominated for the awards and only three of which were finalists, including herself.
Hearing the other two nominations stories talk about what they do was wonderful to hear. Needless to say, everyone deserved an award after what they do day in and day out for their communities.
Paula wasn't expecting to win, she was more than thrilled with the fact she was nominated. To then be a finalist, she was shellshocked but to cap it off, her name was announced as the winner.
After her win and during her interview on stage, Paula said: "I'm so thankful for my wonderful team, they inspire me every day”.
"It shouldn't be me up here collecting this award, it should be them".
We are so proud of Paula, Ebor Home Care and the team!
To read more about this, there is an article out on Tuesday 4 October. In the meantime, you can read about some of the other winners in separate categories below!
