Sensory seed kit planting as part of Dementia Action Week!

As part of Dementia Action Week, Kate took our Sensory Seed Kits on the road to plant them with residents at an Adult Day Centre, and a Residential Home.

These seed kits were designed specifically to appeal to each of the 5 senses and included; lavender, mint, lambs ear, quaking grass, and summer flowers. Sensory seeds are not only great at stimulating young adults with special needs, but they are also useful in evoking memories in those living with Dementia. Often smells can transport you back to a time you may have forgotten about, and it's a nice way to reminisce about the good 'ol days!

It was great to see the residents get stuck in and learning about gardening with a smile on their faces. We can't wait to see how they get on!
