Right at Home UK has been presented with the Princess Royal Training Award for its ‘Train the Trainer’ programme.
HRH The Princess Royal, President of the City and Guilds of London Institute, awarded the homecare franchise at a prestigious ceremony at St. James’ Palace on November 23. The ‘Train the Trainer’ programme is designed to train Managers, Senior CareGivers and Trainers with the necessary skills, knowledge, and expertise to provide high-quality training to CareGivers within their local offices. By equipping staff with the tools to effectively educate CareGivers, Right at Home UK ensures that its Clients receive the highest quality care possible. Right at Home is one of just 53 organisations in the country to receive the Princess Royal Training Award, which celebrates organisations that have demonstrated exceptional commitment to skills development and made a positive impact through their training initiatives.
Collecting the award, Heather Graham, Learning and Development Officer at Right at Home UK, and creator of the programme, said: “The Princess Royal was so gracious and charming, taking time to ask me about how the programme has helped us raise consistency and improved training standards. It was a fabulous day, networking with other winners in the stunning Picture Gallery and Queen Anne room, and enjoying afternoon tea.” Heather added: “The Princess Royal Training Award serves as a validation of both my and Right at Home UK's commitment to excellence, and to our ethos that fostering a culture of learning and development is absolutely key to unlocking the full potential of both individuals and businesses as a whole.”
Grantley Lynch, owner of Right at Home Medway and member of Right at Home’s Training Advisory Group (TAG), also attended the ceremony.
He said: “When I first joined TAG to provide feedback on the direction of our training materials, I had no idea this would lead to royal recognition. However, it was no surprise to any of us to hear that the Train the Trainer programme had received this award. This is by far the best training I’ve seen delivered in the industry to date.
“Congratulations to Right at Home, and Heather Graham, on such a huge achievement. The programme provides first-class training for Right at Home’s offices across the UK.”
Receiving the Princess Royal Training Award, which is accredited by the City & Guilds Foundation, is a testament to Right at Home UK's commitment to excellence and continuous improvement. The organisation's unwavering dedication to enhancing the care profession is reflected in its most recent independent CareGiver survey, in which 97% of the 1701 CareGivers surveyed agreed that they have access to the training they need to do their job well. Nearly all (95%) CareGivers said they would rate the initial training as “good” or “excellent” (WorkBuzz 2023).
Heather Wehrle, Director of People and Brand at Right at Home, said: “At Right at Home, providing comprehensive training and professional development opportunities are crucial to not only providing high quality care, but attracting and retaining top quality employees. We are extremely proud to receive this prestigious award and recognition for our commitment to providing only the very best training and support to our professional workforce.
“This award would have been possible without the immense skill, passion and commitment of our Learning and Development Officer, Heather Graham, who has been the driving force behind designing and delivering this incredible initiative.
“We also pay special thanks to our valued network, who have whole heartedly backed this initiative, as they too strive to offer only the very best support to their teams across the UK.”
