Nexus celebrates shortlisting for Small Business of the Year at STLC Awards

Nexus Care Services is proud to announce its shortlisting for the Small Business of the Year award at the highly regarded Royal Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield & Tamworth and Cannock Chase (STLC) Awards 2025.

The SLTC Awards, now in its ninth year, celebrates the success, talent, and entrepreneurial spirit of businesses from across the region.

To qualify in the Small Business of the Year category, businesses must demonstrate excellence and outstanding achievement across all aspects of their organisation, including strong growth, innovation, leadership, and a clear vision.

The shortlisting recognises Nexus’s exceptional contributions to the home care sector in Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield and Tamworth.

Over the past year, Nexus has expanded its client base to a total of 180 clients, conducting over 200 care assessments and has introduced new services tailored for young people aged 13-18 and partnerships with independent living communities and special education institutions.

Their person-centred approach ensures clients receive tailored care, while also focusing on creating a supportive, empowering environment for their team of carers.

Commercial growth – Welcoming new clients, introducing new services and employing over 100 carers a week on their payroll. Top rankings – This year Nexus was named one of the top 20 care providers in the West Midlands by Homecare.co.uk, achieving a perfect 10/10 score and ranking first in Sutton Coldfield. Innovative employment packages – Nexus offers pay above the National Living Wage, fixed contract hours for staff stability, and additional benefits like funding for breakfast clubs to support working parents. Exceptional staff support and training – The company invests significantly in the ongoing professional development of its carers, providing opportunities for training, qualifications, and skills development. Community impact – Their Nexus Events programme, combats social isolation by offering social outings and holidays to those in need across the region.
