Home Instead Wrexham and Flintshire held a special tea party earlier this month to celebrate their 10th anniversary of providing home care services and supporting older adults in North Wales.
The afternoon tea event was held at Gresford Methodist Church and brought around 40 people together which included Home Instead’s clients and their families, care professionals past and present and representatives from local community groups. The team also welcomed members of the public from the local Wrexham community, who have supported Home Instead since their beginnings in 2015.
Whilst the guests enjoyed a delicious spread of sandwiches and cream teas, they were entertained with some wonderful musical memories from local female vocal duo The Song Byrds. A collection was taken on the day in aid of Nightingale House Hospice.
Home Instead Wrexham and Flintshire first opened its doors back in 2015, when Matthew and Samantha Murray-James decided to bring a new model of care to North Wales, offering longer visits and putting companionship at the heart of the service. Starting with a small office on Wrexham Industrial Estate, Home Instead has since grown to three branches across North Wales in Gresford, Buckley and Colwyn Bay, supporting older people in their daily lives and enabling them to remain at home for as long as possible. Over the last ten years, Home Instead have cared for hundreds of clients across the area as well as providing jobs within the local community. They provide a whole range of home care services from companionship and home help right through to live-in and complex care packages.
Matthew Murray-James, Director of Home Instead Wrexham and Flintshire, said: “I am very proud of what we have achieved at Home Instead over the last ten years. Having great care in the community is a real team effort and I am so pleased that we have been able to come together to celebrate our 10th anniversary and our achievements with the people that have supported us over the years. That includes our clients and their loved ones, our Care Professionals who do an amazing job and make such a difference, and members of the local community who have made us feel very welcome here and support our endeavour to bring high-quality care to the people of North Wales.”
