What a joyful and bustling morning it was at St Pip and St Jim’s last week, as we celebrated the season with a lively Easter Egg Hunt and quiz-based coffee morning for our local community.
The event brought together residents from near and far for a fun-filled morning of chocolate, cheer, and community spirit. We were especially thrilled to welcome a group of social prescribers from the Cheltenham Peripheral Primary Care Network, who joined us to learn more about our exciting new addition – the GenieLite robotic care companion.
The GenieLite, developed by Service Robotics, is part of a groundbreaking initiative to support independent living. Social prescribers were invited to see the robot in action and to discuss a two-month free trial, for which we are currently recruiting local volunteers. Tim Morgan, Co-Founder of Service Robotics, was on hand throughout the morning to provide demonstrations and answer all technical and operational questions.
Of course, no community event would be complete without our wonderful regulars. Joan rolled up in style on her trusty scooter, ‘Big Bertha,’ using the church’s side ramp to join the general knowledge quiz (and she didn’t miss a beat!). Doris, Frank, and Gail also popped in, while Mandy made the journey all the way from Worcester, collecting Fay and Roger along the way. We were also delighted to see Roger and Lois from Mercian Court enthusiastically joining the Easter Egg Hunt.
It was a morning full of laughter, learning, and shared moments – exactly what community is all about. Thank you to everyone who came along and made the event so special. We’re already looking forward to the next gathering which is on Thursday 15th May!
