View Full Details of Home Instead (South Sheffield)We have found the care given to be consistently excellent. Both carers are very helpful and observant. Both have become good friends with my mother. "They just do that bit extra" - a quote from my mother.
My parents were reluctant to accept support but the carers and management team have all managed to make this an easy transition for them, they now consider their carers as part of the family. My specifications for matching individuals and care needs for my parents were evidently taken into account and I couldn't have recruited any better myself. Staff are all very caring and have gone above and beyond their role to support my parents, e.g. remaining with them beyond allocated time if there are issues or problems with health. I don't have any reservations regarding my parents vulnerability and carers visiting them at home when I am not present. Continuity of support has been excellent and they continued to provide support in adverse weather conditions The documentation and feedback is excellent, we feel informed and response to any queries or suggestion is immediate. Management is always easily contactable and one feels that they all take pride in the excellent service they deliver.
We've been using Home Instead for over 15 years. Some of the caregivers have been with us for over 10 years which says it all! We would be lost without the carers and the office staff, they make all the difference to our lives.
Home Instead has been visiting my dad for the past four years, following his hip replacement surgery which coincided with a decline in his dementia. He has always been adamant he wants to live in his house for as long as possible and he is fiercely independent. Neither myself nor my sister lives close by, so the visits from caregivers three times a day ensure that Dad is well looked after. Home Instead have kept on top of his prescriptions, his shopping, his washing and his cleaning. They also ensure his elderly cat is fed and have gone above and beyond in taking him to the barbers and helping him keep up his pub visits with his friends. Without this excellent level of care, Dad would have had to go into a care home. He is not always the easiest of people to care for, but his 'health visitors' (as he calls them) have him worked out and know how best to deal with him, often with more patience than we have! Care is not cheap, but we couldn't do without it, and would highly recommend it.
We have found all the carers to be very kind and helpful. They help my husband and also myself.
This service has recently given me consistently for my father which has greatly been appreciated. He has advanced Dementia and advanced Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). I work and look after my father and children in my home.
Home Instead provides my mother-in-law with excellent service, lovely carers, a consistent team and very responsive to her needs. We have been very happy with the care provided. It is certainly expensive for a service of this nature but worth the extra money for the quality of care.
I have been a client since 2016. The service has been excellent and very reliable. I have no complaints at all.
Home Instead has provided a good assistance level of care in difficult circumstances, caring for our close friend who has dementia. We are grateful for the support of carers who have enabled my friend to remain in his own home for some time. We are also appreciative that the carers treat him with dignity and kindness.
Excellent service by a small group of experienced carers. All the care professionals are thorough, friendly and good company. They are great to chat with whilst helping me.
It was ok.
The carers have been very supportive of Mum and she really enjoys their visits. It is reassuring that if a new carer comes to do the visit someone from the team comes to introduce them first. The consistency of carers is very good. They are always happy to take her out shopping or for a coffee, which she really enjoys.
I have found that the standard of care and communication with all Home Instead employees has always been excellent. They have been flexible, very supportive and very caring. They always have a very friendly approach and provide a person-centred service.
All my mum's usual carers know her needs and are very helpful whenever Mum needs that little bit of extra care and understanding when she's not feeling too good. She enjoys the conversations they have and looks forward to them visiting. They will also do little jobs without Mum having to ask, such as folding up the dry clothes, hovering up or mopping the kitchen floor.
Home Instead is a fantastic company. We started with them during Covid and they have been brilliant ever since. We now have help twice a day. The caregivers are so kind, really reliable and very appropriate. The office provides effective backup and are very professional. I really don't know what we would have done without them and I feel blessed that we found them. I could not recommend them too highly!
My wife is one of the longest-standing clients of the company, well over ten years now. During this time the agency has always treated her with sensitivity, respect, good humour and a great deal of love. The office and carers understand her needs and therefore know what is necessary for her to maintain some quality of life. Carers enjoy coming here and are always punctual. My wife has had three hospital stays in the last six months and Home Instead has always been ready for her homecoming. Carers have been put on standby and the company has been very helpful when the dates have been changed and plans altered. I have sent regular updates about my wife’s progress but it has to be noted that the office has always taken a great interest, and either rung me or emailed to find out more details. Home Instead has maintained a high-quality service throughout all the years. I would recommend them to anyone and thank them wholeheartedly for their commitment to the well-being of my wife.
Mother and I continue to be very happy with the excellent service from Home Instead. Her regular carer is friendly, resourceful, kind, hard-working and practical - for Mother the weekly visit is something she looks forward to, and for me it's such a relief to know that she's in such good hands. I'm so pleased we found this arrangement, it's made a great positive difference to all of us.
The situation with my mother became rather trying due to the rapid deterioration of her hearing (already quite severe) and the time it took to get new hearing aids. I appreciate the patience of the carers during that time and also being kept informed of any situations I needed to be aware of. In general, I appreciate the input they give to make my mother’s life as fulfilling as possible.
Carers generally provided a good service for Dad. They give a dinner and make a sandwich for Dad's tea. They always communicate with Dad and give company to him. The company provide a stable 3/4 carers for dad which he appreciates and gives a consistency of service.
I am new to all this so have not any previous experience but have been reasonably impressed with the service so far and they do seem willing to help in whatever way they can to serve your needs.
