View Full Details of Bluebird Care North Hampshire & West BerkshireBluebird adapted to changing circumstances of both my parents, and identified suitably matched carers for their personalities. They maintained a good relationship throughout, both the visiting and live in carers, but also the office staff were responsive to all our feedback and changing circumstances throughout.
My Uncle had carers twice a day always found them very happy and helpful. They made his day always, office very helpful when you needed them.
The office team have been nothing but accommodating to my mother's changing needs, swiftly changing calls/times to try and make things easier. The care team are also wonderful, being kind, considerate, caring and also lifting Mum's spirits daily with a laugh or two.
Our young carer is so bright and cheerful and mum enjoys walking the dog around the field with her when she comes each week to give dad a rest. The dementia adviser has been especially helpful and supportive to us as a family.
Carers come five nights weekly to help my husband at bedtime. They are unfailingly professional, cheerful and obliging. As with any profession, some are better than others but I couldn't fault any of them. Staff in the office are also helpful and an email elicits an invariably helpful response.
When my husband came out of hospital in March 2024, he was put on palliative care and was only given a few days to live. He was so ill. He was attended to by the district nurses and charity nurses daily. He was also looked after by two Bluebird Care carers four times a day. I looked after him for the rest of the time. It was amazingly hard work and I would not have been able to do it on my own. There were different carers on different shifts but they were all courteous, caring and gentle. He is so much more improved with the care he is receiving. They are all very friendly and include us in the conversations. We have grown to love them all now. Hubby is now doing so well with their help and we even look forward to seeing them now.
Bluebird Care has been able to adjust to the changing needs of my parents and provided excellent care throughout. My parents' live-in care support was very good and having a carer present all the time provided reassurance. We have been very happy with the care support.
We have used Bluebird Care for over a year now and the care they have given to our mum has been invaluable. Each of her carers is respectful of her needs and works hard to deliver her care plan in a way that suits her best and that she is comfortable with. We have been able to adapt and increase care over this period and at every stage, Bluebird has worked with us to accommodate changing needs. This has helped us enormously to continue caring for our mum at home where she is happiest.
Generally a very reliable service, but some inexperienced staff who seem confused without direction. There seems to be a desire to finish early rather than do a little extra, eg light housework. Extra training might help with cooking, not for all but for some of the carers.
Bluebird Care stepped in when my mother became unwell. Within a very short space of time, they had a full-time carer with my mother. When a problem arose, one phone call and it was rectified immediately. A really good service.
My dad's care needs have increased due to the progression of the dementia. I had no hesitation, following consultation with the GP, to opt for live-in care in November 2023. We decided to remain with Bluebird Care as they had provided the care for my dad ever since his diagnosis over seven years ago. This care has been excellent throughout this time and the exceptionally high standards have continued with the live-in care. I have total peace of mind that my dad has the best and most appropriate care for his needs being provided by Bluebird Care 24/7. My dad now has a much better quality of life, his dietary, personal hygiene and medical needs are taken care of plus he now has opportunities to visit places outside his home more frequently accompanied by the carers. I have seen a marked improvement in his well-being and happiness as a result of having the care package in place, he now has company throughout the day and no longer feels lonely.
The care we receive for our mum has been brilliant. It helps to give us peace of mind knowing that Mum is well looked after each call and if there are any concerns we can get in touch with the office to make any relevant changes to the care plan.
The service has been really good, and I’m so grateful! Always very punctual and helpful with all aspects of my routine while getting up/getting back to bed, and very kind staff! I would be happy to use this company again!
My mother used Bluebird Care for several years. I was always very pleased with their service, particularly the ability to view the carers' daily logs online. The carers always treated my mother with respect. Some carers were clearly more persuasive in being able to get my mother washed and dressed, but all the carers treated her with respect.
We had been a client of Bluebird for a number of years, using both domiciliary and live-in care for my 90-year-old mother-in-law. We have been very pleased with the care team, both the carers and the managers. The only concern we had was that most of the carers do not have UK driving licences and living in a rural area have had to organise transport on the few occasions it has been needed. Continuity has been pretty good with the odd exception which is to be expected. Due to a change of circumstances we needed to change our relationship with Bluebird which was handled professionally and compassionately by the management team. I would have no hesitation in recommending Bluebird.
I was very ill at ease when I first realised that I needed help in my day to day living due to a serious accident. I am ashamed to say I fought against it for ages causing some trouble for my family and for the carer who was gracious throughout. All my carers could not have been more ‘caring’, always mindful of my dignity and need to do as much as I could. I will be forever grateful to them all for all the help in the many ways they gave me.
Bluebird Care North Hampshire & West Berkshire are the fifth Care Agency we have had since my wife had a stroke in 2017. All the other Agencies have handed back the package to Hampshire for one reason or another. I can honestly say that Bluebird are by far and away the best we have had and we hope that long may this continue. Attention to detailed care is exemplary with a willingness to go above and beyond.
When the care first started it was excellent - we were advised that carers were salaried and therefore we would always have the same three carers except for holidays and sickness. This was perfect as my father had dementia and my mother had anxiety. The continuity was just what was required and both parents developed relationships with the carers. Unfortunately, this did not continue and suddenly it was a different carer every time. This distressed both parents and instead of lighting my load made more work for me. The service continued to deteriorate - even sending carers who couldn’t drive - on a day my father went to daycare. I was considering live-in as my father was becoming more demanding but felt I could not trust the service. I gave notice as felt I could deliver a better service myself. I can’t rate the staff correctly as the first three were exceptions but the rest weren’t able to develop relationships due to constant change.
Mum has been cared for by a live-in carer for nearly two years with twice-daily domiciliary care added more recently. The carers from Bluebird Care have, almost without exception, been caring, kind and proficient. Office staff are polite and usually return calls in a timely fashion. They always do their best to resolve problems once they have understood the issue. I take great confidence from knowing Mum is being well cared for.
My considered choice of care agency and I could not be more pleased having experienced the dire alternative. I am provided with a very high standard of personal care and rehabilitation support, reliably and skillfully endowed as a fully integrated service by an experienced business model. All my care and daily living needs are looked after, washing, dressing, food preparation and laundry as well as full proficiency in transfer methods and with learned knowledge of skincare and all aspects of safety together with prescribed medicine handling and administration. All my carers are charming and intuitive, ready to share a smile in light-hearted interaction. Quality and humanity are at the heart of Bluebird Care provision and I am delighted with my own choice of care agency and Bluebird Care will map a care plan that will suit you and your exact needs. Bluebird Care has a superb administration and office set-up that is there for you.
