View Full Details of Shire Homecare ServicesWas not sure what to expect but the three ladies who help my husband have been so wonderfully caring and kind and have helped me, his wife so much. I wished I had had them a lot sooner.
I reluctantly had to have a care agency help with looking after my mum after she had a fall in hospital. She is 85 has Altzheimers, various other health problems and is bedridden. This was 8 months ago. I looked at 4 local agencies and Shire was the Agency I felt most comfortable with. I'm glad to say I made the right choice as the Shire staff really are amazing. They have treated Mum with such love and dignity and the empathy they all show us as a family is so appreciated. To know there is someone always at the end of the phone to offer advice, support and encouragement is so comforting. I never thought I could trust anyone else to look after my mum but I trust the staff at Shire. I was even able to go on a 6-day break recently knowing my mum was being cared for and trusting Shire care to be there for mum. Staff seem so happy in their work and they work so hard. We as a family couldn't cope without them and it's enabled us to keep mum in her own home.
Shire Homecare Services supported our relative for over 3 years. They were happy at home and had a great team of carers. Management of the case package was good. In all the years she never had a shift unfilled. The care team delivered personalised care. They know her well and it was all the extra little things that really mattered e.g. the way she liked her hair done, offering alternative food options. The kind and caring approach of carers. I will not forget them, they kept us informed when anything was out of the ordinary.
Shire looked after both our parents, the care they gave was certainly outstanding. I have so many examples, that it's hard to write them down. Spending extra time visiting when not on duty. Lending a small liquidiser when my dad wasn't eating much. Shire carers had humour, were kind and showed respect. The management at Shire were up to date with any issues. My mum described the care as 'lovely' I can honestly say Shire carers were people I trusted for my parents.
I had a very caring time with Shire Homecare Services. They looked after me kindly and gently after I had an operation on my right hand. Nothing was too hard or demanding. They were delighted to make my recuperation as simple and easy as possible. Making me coffee and prepping meals for me. I shall in future use this company for their care services. I was very impressed.
The manager and the caring staff of Shire Homecare Services did an excellent job of making sure that our mother was well looked after during her six years with Parkinson's. The level of care, hard work, consideration and attention to detail mean that you will always be in safe hands. All their staff always brought in positive energy and made the house feel cheerful despite the challenging circumstances of looking after someone who was bed-bound. I would highly recommend them.
Mum's carer is incredible! I can see that she genuinely cares for Mum and does her utmost to show Mum love and tenderness every day in everything they do together. She sings to Mum and she reads poems and comforting passages from the bible. She feeds Mum delicious home-made food and does Mum's personal care with love and attention to detail. Mum always looks immaculate, with hair done and clean, coordinated clothes, despite being bedridden for much of the day. On top of this, she looks after the home too! Treats Mum with respect and dignity.
I have always found the office staff helpful and willing to answer any queries I might have. The carers are always cheerful, helpful and patient in answering any queries or helping with any odd jobs I ask them to do, e.g. filling my bird feeder. I appreciate the odd jobs they will do if I can't do them. I try to keep my requests to the minimum - I try to be independent as much as possible.
