View Full Details of Home Instead (Mid Cornwall)Home Instead (Mid Cornwall) has been very obliging and helpful since I contacted them for some help with my husbands care. We were visited at home and my husbands needs assessed and a plan made. Great care was taken to ensure that my husband and his carers made a good fit and got on well. When I needed to increase the hours of help, we were accommodated very quickly. We regularly meet with the manager to check if any changes need to be made and that we are happy with the service. We are more than satisfied and grateful to Home Instead for their professionalism and compassion across the board.
Home Instead (Mid Cornwall) provided reliable, caring support that enabled my brother to live as independently as possible for as long as possible. From the beginning his needs were accurately assessed and the review gave him the confidence to say what he needed rather than forcing suggestions on him. New carers were always introduced so that he knew who was coming on a particular day and every carer took the time to talk to him, showing an interest in his stories and what he was doing.. I recommend Home Instead (Mid Cornwall) without reservation.
Home instead have been professional ever since we enlisted their help over 2.5 years ago. The staff are polite and caring and treated both my mum and dad with respect and kindness. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone; from the office staff to the carers.
When we decided to look for a little care for mum we were recommended Home Instead in St. Austell. Mum was really apprehensive and didn't really want any help and especially in her home. We had a trial run and the team came out to assess mums needs, she now looks forward to seeing the carers. They bring a bit of sunshine to mum's days whether it is first thing in the morning or giving her tea in the evenings. The chats, caring, and assistance is second to none. Mum loves their visits. If anytime we needed to make changes to her care package due to extra needs, everything possible was done to achieve this. It is such a caring company and it helps the family with caring for mum.
For the past 12 months, Mum has been visited by Home Instead caregivers. I needed help caring for Mum as her dementia progressed and all staff involved have been compassionate, patient and very supportive from the moment I contacted them. Mum was a little apprehensive initially as 'she didn't know them' but soon got into the routine of the visits and particularly enjoyed their chats with her and having a barrier cream massage! Due to suffering some falls and then breaking a foot, I reluctantly moved Mum into a care home recently but I will always be so grateful to Home Instead (Mid Cornwall) staff and would definitely recommend them as an option for care.
We have used Home Instead for 4 years and extended the hours of care over this period to meet Mum's increased needs. The team have always been wonderfully flexible and accommodating and complimented each other well to ensure that Mum remained happy and content in her own beloved home. Sadly we recently lost Mum and I will have eternal gratitude for the end-of-life care she received from Home Instead. Thank You Home Instead. Full 100.
Home Instead have always had a positive reputation in the local area and having met the owner as he set up the business I could clearly see his passion and care for people, which is essential when running a business that focuses on health and social care. Over time Home Instead have cared for my aunt, who has been positive about the care received and the support on offer. I continue to hear positive things about Home Instead and often recommend them to people who are looking for care and support.
Home Instead have been fantastic with my mum right from the start. I live some distance from my mum, who has lived on her own for more than 20 years and is very independent. They put my mum first, got to know her, and spent time talking to her. They helped Mum with what she wanted help with, and built up her trust by listening to her and working to her agenda, not theirs. As Mum's dementia got worse she relied more upon them but they knew her likes and dislikes and spent time with her so she felt like she was valued and safe. Great communication, the online portal and daily task notes kept me informed on Mum's state of mind, health and activities. Appropriate phone calls for urgent contact and emails when less urgent. When circumstances change e.g. stay in hospital, a deterioration in her dementia, increase in help needed, Home Instead helped me by adapting the services they provided giving me advice and the support I needed. I would recommend their services without hesitation.
Home Instead absolutely came to my rescue! Recommended by a family member who is a community nurse, this wonderful organisation provided the short-term support I needed after several weeks of home nursing. My husband’s health was slowly improving but it was reassuring to have a friendly and competent carer to supervise showering and, to my delight, to carry out light household tasks such as ironing. I was able to leave the house for a short while. Right from the initial home assessment visit, the process was easy, and the staff was professional, caring and friendly. Home Instead was there in our hour of need. Highly recommended - thank you.
Home Instead have been and continues to be fantastic carers for my mother who suffers from dementia. As I don't live nearby it's so important to feel that you have access to quality, empathetic and practical support on a regular basis. This is what Home Instead do so well. They listen to Mum's needs, spot the changes that may mean practical readjustments and help work through managing any changes calmly and empathetically. Because of this support, Mum is able to continue to live independently and very happily in Cornwall where she grew up.
Home Instead has provided an excellent service over the past four years. From a personal point of view, being over two hundred miles away from my friend, she suffers from epilepsy and short-term memory loss resulting from strokes and I need the assurance of knowing she is in safe, caring hands. I have never doubted the quality of service offered by both caregivers and management. On occasion, when there has been cause for concern for my friend's well-being, I have been notified immediately. Both of us have always found the caregivers to be patient, personable and of good humour. Duties have included; chores around the home, assisting in computer-communication with family members, shopping expeditions and hospital appointments. Of huge importance, the service has provided warm and understanding human companionship, invaluable in sustaining independent living.
All the Caregivers and the office-based staff are very professional but friendly. They know about the client; their likes and dislikes, and how they like to be addressed and ask how they can help. They use their initiative when required to help the client more when circumstances change. The care reports are always comprehensive so as a relative I know how the client is and the tasks completed. I can always contact the office-based staff by email and phone. Communication with them is always helpful and informative. I also know they will contact me if there is a problem or they feel something needs to be changed
A very special person with multiple attributes is employed by Home Instead to assist clients where daily tasks are unachievable. Each carer never refuses housework of varying types, working quickly and always efficiently in a cheerful and positive mood. We look forward to the carer's arrival and are sorry to see her leave later on.
I simply cannot speak highly enough of every aspect of the Home Instead service. Every caregiver gave a fantastic service and made my parents feel safe, comfortable and like friends. The support team were super efficient, friendly to deal with and helpful at all times. My whole family has felt like they could trust the care given and also mix in a positive way with caregivers when we were in my parent's home. This was so important to us. I can’t thank everyone concerned enough. They all very much went that extra mile on a regular basis.
Home Instead has been fantastic in providing home care services for my parent. They have been flexible to evolving care needs. They provide general help with bathing, shopping, cooking meals and providing company and conversation. Each visit is accompanied by a detailed daily report via a patient portal, so myself and family can keep up to date with care needs. I would certainly recommend their services without hesitation.
After initial reluctance to have care at home, Mum has found the service supplied by the carers to be exemplary. She now concedes she could not do without it. They provide a thorough service in the morning often doing small jobs to make her and my life easier. At times she says that something is not done but when explained to her that the carers are not mind readers she does ask for a small job to be done. They are punctual and polite, very friendly.
The whole team have been unswerving in their professionalism, care, patience, kindness and understanding. They have been flexible and helpful throughout. My parents-in-law were very happy with their caregivers. We were sad to change providers, but this was due to a change in circumstances.
I found the company to be first class with my mother who was not always willing to accept some of the carers and had her favourites. The company was very flexible and met all the requests outside of contracted hours I asked of them. All the carers were very kind compassionate and incredibly patient. I would highly recommend Home Instead to anyone in the local area considering private care provision.
Home Instead (Mid Cornwall) have been extremely helpful and supportive in meeting the care needs of my mother over the past 18 months. My mother was reluctant to accept help and the team at Mid Cornwall worked with the ups and downs, showing great flexibility while things settled down. Their team built a strong relationship with my mother and knowing that the Mid Cornwall team were visiting regularly provided tremendous peace of mind, as well as the help my mother needed.
From the very first phone call, this company have been an absolute pleasure to deal with. Great communication and efficiency from the office staff and the carers are kind, friendly, patient and courteous. My dad really looks forward to their visits and tells me all about his trips out with them. Originally this was just going to be an arrangement to assist with showering, but, over time has become so much more and has totally enriched his life. I cannot fault this fantastic company and would strongly recommend it to anyone considering having help for themselves or family members.
