View Full Details of Home Instead (Newport, Cwmbran & Chepstow)Superb service. Helped us out of real spot when we were let down by care providers. They came to the hospital prior to discharge and were there on discharge. Staff are punctual, friendly and professional. They don't rush me and I feel safe and listened to.
My late husband had a carer 3 times a day. They were so very much missed when he passed in January 2024. I decided to have a companion call every weekday in the afternoon. I find them all so kind, friendly, and very willing to help with any chore that needs to be done.
Home Instead have been looking after my wife since February 2023. We have 2 carers per visit. Carers are very friendly, well-trained professionals. Their performance is regularly monitored by their supervisor/manager The time allocated to each visit means they can form a good relationship with the client. The app provides a summary of each visit and gives notice about which carers will make future calls. We are very pleased with the service.
Friendly professional service, All care professionals give quality care with compassion and empathy, Maintaining the dignity of the client while befriending.
I owe Home Instead so very much. My husband died on the 3rd of January 2018 aged 78 not unexpectedly but a shock nevertheless. Now I can't quite recall if Home Instead were visiting us already or if it was just after that. Several ladies came along and were all very lovely and eventually, to suit days and times, my present lady became my special visitor. Luckily we had loads of common interests that we gelled straight away, it was a tremendous bonus. So cheers and thanks Home Instead.
My carer is extremely helpful and willing to do whatever is asked of her. She is always cheerful and works very hard.
The experience with Home Instead Newport has been superb, my mother has daily support and the support staff are fantastic. My mother was very nervous at the start but now she absolutely loves the time with the support staff and she does more now than she has done over the last few years, walking/ food shopping/clothes shopping and help around the house - it has brought a huge level of independence and company for her. She tells me that she feels the support staff are like daughters she never had!
Mum has received care in her own home from Home Instead for several years. Initially she had twice-daily two-hour visits, but since the first lockdown she needed much more. Since then she has had live-in care and it has been (occasionally literally) a lifesaver. She will be one hundred soon, so we are no "spring chickens" either, and neither we nor other family members live near her, so she relies very much on Home Instead for companionship, care and general help with day-to-day living. As Mum is house-bound and now profoundly deaf she would have great difficulty in communicating by phone or letter, and no longer uses the computer. Despite her impending century she remains very independently-minded and she finds it a huge comfort to still be in her own home with her own space, belongings and garden, all of which Home Instead care gives. The cost is expensive, but the care is individual, which would be unlikely in a home (which charges a similar amount).
My husband and I live in America, so providing home help for my mother-in-law in Wales was a necessity. Home Instead we're easy to work with from the beginning and gave us piece of mind when we could not be there. The caregivers were both professional and comforting in the care that they gave, and we could not express our gratitude or give a higher recognition of this company for all they were able to do for our family during often challenging times.
Most of the carers have proved to be very professional and conscientious in their jobs. Unhappy with the cost increase, above rate of inflation.
We arranged for Mum to receive care in her own home for a period of 15 months between December 2021 and April 2023. She was a very independent lady who feared the prospect of allowing carers into her own home, but quickly appreciated the kindness, care and efficiency of all who came to look after her. Mum was blessed with having a small group of well-matched carers who became genuine friends over the year and provided exactly the level of friendship, care, practical service and support she needed. Communication and flexibility of arrangements was good, often in difficult circumstances and all of our family will always be grateful.
Carers were extremely helpful and understanding at a very difficult time for the family when individual was very unwell. Contacted us when found individual unwell. One of carers in particular built up trust with a stubborn individual to eventually give personal care when required.
Home Instead have been fantastic in looking after an elderly friend of the family. They are a pleasure to have come in and really brighten up her day. The Care Professionals are kind and thoughtful and no ask is too big for them. They ensure my friend is treated with dignity and respect and endeavour to keep her as independent as possible in her own home. The hour long visits are brilliant as it ensures that she doesn’t feel rushed and she is able to build a good bond with the Care Professionals.
Home Instead have been providing care for my dad for several months now. It is the first time he has had to have support from anyone outside the family and I think we all viewed the prospect with trepidation. He has several carers, but 2 main ones - who are both so kind, caring, friendly and professional. It's great to know he is being looked after so well.
Home Instead provides three daily visits to my mother. Between us, we agreed an assistance package that has been invaluable to my mother and the family. The package is comprehensive and flexible and is adjusted periodically to suit Mother's needs. She looks forward to the carer visits, enjoys their company, and is being very well looked after. The communication between myself and Home Instead works very smoothly. All calls are answered and follow-up is prompt. Mum's family members all live over 120 miles from her, so 'drop-in' visits are not possible. Hence, the carer visit reports, posted on the app, are invaluable and confirm to us that she is comfortable and receiving first-class daily care.
I have been happy overall with the care provided. The team are approachable and aim to provide holistic care. I feel at ease that my father-in-law will be cared for. I have been able to arrange last minute care when required.
Home Instead has been providing care at home for my uncle for around three years. He has benefited hugely from the care and companionship they provide. He has four visits a day and they look after his care completely; washing his clothes, cooking and keeping his house spotless. I live three hours away and rely on the company completely. They are always in touch and any problems are dealt with promptly. Great company, great people. Thank you.
We are very pleased with the care our Mum is receiving. She enjoys the caregivers’ company and appreciates their help and support. The consistency of approach taken and personnel has been key in ensuring this excellent level of care.
Firstly - I must say how excellent all the Home Instead staff have been to me - including all the carers and the office staff without exception. My main carer has been a godsend to me from the first day she came to me. Apart from doing all that I ask - she has become a dear friend - over and above the call of duty. She is warm and friendly and a treasure.
The caregivers are friendly and helpful and my mother likes them. Sometimes there have been scheduling mistakes or schedules sent late, but the staff at the Newport office do reply and get things sorted out.
