View Full Details of Elmar Home Care Ltd - HorsforthElmar have been helping me look after my mum for last three years. The carers who come are attentive and considerate to mums needs. Mum likes the familiarity and usually has the same 2 carers, who are both fantastic. They always let me know if running late (obviously things can crop up on earlier calls) but communication is key and I'm always updated. Highly recommend.
Cared well for my mum for a lot of years even though she could be difficult at times you did your best to accommodate her she became very close friends with quite a few of the carers and I'm sure she will miss them.
Dad had care from staff from September 23 until recently when he went into a home. The carers were all so kind, helpful and wonderful with both him and mum. Couldn't have asked for better care. Carers is the right way to describe the staff.
Elmar staff that visit my friend, who requires a visit four times a day, looks forward to Elmar Staff arriving; the teams take extra care in making her content at home and seem to always be happy. My friend seems to like certain teams that arrive more than others as some teams, especially the evening ones, have a little bit more time as there isn't as much pressure as during the day with traffic etc, but enjoys very much the day visiting teams, as well if teams are going to be late on arrival, carers get in touch with me to explain the situation so other solutions can be found. She appreciates all the hard work done by everybody and all the effort they put in. As a person who looks after her as well with other things, cooking and shopping, I would have no problem recommending Elmar to anybody that requires home care.
My mum and I are very impressed with Elmar Home Care Ltd - Horsforth. The carers are so kind, caring and friendly. We cannot praise them enough. My mum looks forward to them coming and has grown quite fond of them all. They really are amazing! Mum is at end of life and the carers have really boosted her up. They show great empathy and compassion. On behalf of my mum and I we want to thank Elmar Home Care carers for being so brilliant and would highly recommend them.
I got to meet a couple of my mum's Elmar carers over the Xmas period and to watch them at work over several days. I was very impressed with all their hard work, good humour and patience, and I am very grateful for all their help. They're getting on really well with my mum and they seem to be taking really good care of her too. They take care to keep her medication at the correct level, to answer her questions/concerns helpfully and to make sure that her home is clean. My mum is very pleased with her carers and I am too. A great job all round.
Elmar home care looked after my dad at home for around six months visiting four times a day. They took over from another company that couldn't have done any less if they tried! All the carers I spoke to or met from Elmar seemed to care about my dad and a number of the girls built a good relationship with him which helped a lot as he struggles with memory issues. When issues happened I always got a phone call from the carer to let me know what was going on. In the end, this helped the council to get him moved to a care home as their records clearly showed he needed full-time care. My dad was upset to leave the carers which clearly shows the difference they had made over the short time with Elmar.
Absolutely disgusting quality of care. A stroke patient left until 1pm with no breakfast and a commode that was unusable due to being backed up. Two full urine bottles and had to improvise utensils so that he could pee. Carers do very minimal work, i.e. pots left in the sink. Mail piling up at the doorstep. When I visited one day, one carer emptied the commode and urine bottles and went downstairs to promptly break up Weetabix. No sign of changed gloves. Carers constantly nagging him on his lifestyle choices. He is an adult and has full mental capacity, his choices are his and his alone. Care plan never filled in as they “have a digital record” not that the gentleman would want to see his own care plan accurately filled in! Reported to CQC for neglect and hopefully under investigation. Do not let these people look after your loved ones. This is a true and accurate record of my findings on this company and CQC reports can be searched online.
When my husband was discharged from hospital, been a terminal ill patient, a home care and nursing agency service was provided to look after him, 4-times a day, and this was Elmar Home Care Ltd - Horsforth. I don't have enough words to express my gratitude to home care people who came to look after him, extremely dedicated people, reliable, very friendly and carrying, people who saw him not like a ''client or patient'' but more like a human being. For me, home care people from Elmar Home Care Ltd - Horsforth were like ''life buoy'' always here to support me (being on my own looking after my husband and working at the same time). I strongly recommend this agency for families who are in the same situation like me.
