View Full Details of Helping Hands Home Care (Watford)I am very happy with my carer, she does all the things I want and is very helpful and friendly. I look forward to her visits.
I have been well informed in advance about the carers coming. They have been excellent time keepers. Willing and kind.
I have found the Helping Hands Home Care Watford office to be most helpful. The one issue is when my regular carer has her weekend off which she thoroughly earns, some replacement carers seem to have an inability to arrive on time.
The service we have received from Helping Hands has been excellent. From management support to the carers themselves, we've been working together to support my mum. We could not cope without them and we hold them in very high regard.
In general, my experience with Helping Hands has been excellent. The staff are friendly, helpful, and, professional. They cope well with realising that I am able to do much of the preparation of the dinner, so that they can leave in good time for the next visit. However, they, and I, am at the mercy of traffic conditions, since there is no flexibility in the timing. Probably on 20% of the visits, their travel has been interrupted by traffic blocks or accidents, because the timing coincides with rush hour in North London. It would therefore help if I could be advised by text or phone directly by the helper if there is to be appreciable delay. I believe the current practice is for them to inform HQ, and HQ, in their own turn, advise me. In addition, while I understand that timing is complex when fitting together the needs of many customers, I would prefer a visit starting 30 minutes later.
All carers are punctual, polite, pleasant and often find tasks that I have forgotten. Great service 10/10.
One member of staff in particular is lovely and caring.
My husband has excellent support for the needs he has. I'm sure he is happy and acceptable although this is not always apparent!
Helping Hands works amazingly well for our 98-year-old neighbour. It can be difficult to choose the correct care that meets a person's needs. The team of carers and office staff are kind, professional and compassionate. They are always quick to respond to any email, phone calls and care amendments to suit the needs of our neighbour, enabling her to stay in her own home. Would recommend for sure.
My mother, who is 89 years old, and has to date, tried to remain as independent as much as possible. After much persuasion over several years, she finally acknowledged the need for more personal support. She agreed to have domiciliary care 3 times a week for a few hours at a time. Helping Hands Watford care team, seamlessly provided the required support needed with the least hassle for me, particularly as I am managing the process for my mother completely remotely and from a very different time zone as well. So far, during April and May 2022, we have had the same carer deployed by the Watford team. To date, Mum has had consistency in terms of care with a good understanding of her particular needs. In addition, mum has been able to build a good rapport with the carer and looks forward to the next visit. This is great given up, and until recently, she has strongly resisted any external carer preferring support either from my younger sister or my brother who lives with her.
Helping Hands have always been very accommodating to any requests made for changes to carers schedules and even being able to assign specific carers to ensure continuity. We have now been using their services for nearly two years and have been very satisfied with the standard of service and the carers have always been very kind, reliable and flexible to our needs
Helping Hands were there when we needed them in a hurry and gave calm, professional and caring support at a very difficult time for me. They were warm, understanding and patient and even though we've had changing needs over the last couple of months, they have been flexible and 100% reliable.
When my father was suddenly bereaved, he needed support as soon as possible, for him to continue to live alone at home. Helping Hands Home Care (Watford) were able to step in within days of our contacting them and provided carers to visit to fit in with whatever hours he needed. When we needed to pause the care for a month, due to him having to go into hospital, this was not a problem and on his discharge they were able to increase the level of care as required. Without exception the carers who visit have all been very timely, efficient, friendly and helpful. The office have always been there supporting in the background and have always been very responsive to any calls. We are very grateful for your help during this difficult time.
A carer visits twice each week to do our shopping during the lockdown.
Prompt very caring and friendly.
My husband seems to be happy with the carer. He likes having another person to talk to. He has had some enjoyment sitting in the garden and having a cup of tea (made by the carer).
I have found your helpers very willing, cheerful and nothing is too much trouble for them. They arrive 'on tine' and ready to listen to any difficulties I may have, suggesting solutions. They keep me 'up to date' on what's going on locally as due to 'shut down' I am out of touch with things in general.
We have been very pleased in the way my mother has been looked after by Helping Hands. They have tended to our mother's needs and carry out tasks with care and attention. If there are concerns, they contact us to let us know. They administer medication as prescribed by the surgery and will also collect repeat prescriptions from the local pharmacy. They are friendly and courteous towards our mother.
