View Full Details of Tender Hands HomecareTender Hands took exceptional care of my dad for the last 12 months. They were empathetic to all his needs, and the communication was second to none. I do not know what we would have done without them. The small team of carers got to know my dad very well, and he loved chatting with them.
Mum was discharged from a care placement where the aim was to remobilise her after a fall and hospital stay. Instead, she was put on bedrest for five weeks and returned to her home with the expectation that she be nursed in bed and was unlikely to make much improvement. Five of the Tender Hands team have contributed to her care and, within a fortnight, have had her exercising in bed to regain muscle strength, sitting up in bed, and just this week, with support and a frame, walking to the table to eat her meals. The team are all very knowledgeable and kind. They have gained mum's confidence and turned round her future quality of life - we can not thank them enough, or speak more highly of them.
Tender Hands Homecare are truly dedicated and caring people. My mum had a swallowing condition and dementia. The young lady who looked after my mum for 9 months bonded very quickly with both my mum and dad. She cooked a special diet and massaged my mum's legs. The carer brightened up my mum's days by taking her outside in the garden and to the local park. She helped both my mum's and dad's mental health too by playing simple board games. The carer is very kind and thoughtful and knew what to do, and who to contact, in most situations. She contacted her manager when she was unsure of any medical issues. The carer was also able to feed my mum through her PEG tube after my mum could no longer swallow. My mum recently passed away, but the carer still keeps in touch with us. We appreciate the kindness and expertise shown by all members of Tender Hands Homecare and would highly recommend them. The carer has a natural talent for this kind of work and is a great asset to the company.
I have employed the manager for the past 9 months prior to her establishing Tender Hands Homecare. She has looked after my 92-year-old mother who is housebound and is suffering from the early stages of dementia. The manager is a qualified nurse, which is a great asset as she is able to identify any other issues that might arise during her morning daily visits. During these visits, she ensures my mother gets out of bed safely, assists her with showering and getting dressed, gives her a light breakfast and ensures the correct medication is administered. The manager is a kind-hearted and caring person and I have no reservations that she will ensure this trait is passed on to other members of her staff. She has built up a lovely rapport with my mother who looks forward to seeing her in the mornings and if time permits after her duties she will sit and talk to my mother. I have found the manager to be completely trustworthy and she will always call me if there are any issues.
