View Full Details of Helping Hands - West NorthumberlandI would not recommend this service to anyone. Some of the carers are completely unprofessional and very unpleasant. They don't read the care notes and know nothing about the needs of the person they're visiting - they admitted this! How can you provide care to someone when you don't understand their needs? As a result, my mother's health deteriorated when they were coming in. Numerous carers, changed rotas, lateness. They were so unclean, absolutely disgusting. They'd wear the same gloves from before they walked in (when exactly did they put the gloves on?) until after they left. No handwashing, no changing gloves, even after one of them rifled through the bin, she continued to prepare food. Constantly touching their faces, hair, phones with those gloves on. Another just casually wiped toast crumbs onto the kitchen floor. I would spend a nighttime cleaning up after them and always found dishes and cutlery that they had 'washed' with food still stuck to them.
Could not recommend more highly. Very caring and helpful during difficult times. We were supported whenever we needed it. Brilliant company.
Helping Hands are well named as they do as they are asked. Friendly and good mannered and caring. My late husband was a quiet man. Your carers put him completely at ease, whilst washing and seeing to his personal needs and making him comfortable on the day he died and for the care provided, so I could get some hours rest. Thank you for your wonderful staff.
