View Full Details of MyLife KentWe have had one missed visit, we did receive a written apology, however, the family would have preferred a phone call, as we could have arranged family cover, we would also like to have a call if the carers are running late. The carers treat my Mother with dignity and respect we are generally pleased with the service provided.
My mum has mixed Dementia and has been receiving care support on a daily basis from MyLife for the past 7 years. Despite changes in staff, managers and other team members the care and support given to my mum is excellent. Mum is bedridden so now has two carers per visit who always make sure all her needs are being met. Communication is also very good which for me living abroad is of paramount importance.
My husband receives four visits from two carers a day and has a night carer. All the carers are lovely to my husband and respect his dignity. They really care for him, and nothing is too much for them. I just can’t believe that they keep coming and not changing to another job as their pay is abysmal. After a patchy year with the office staff, now with the new manager in place, things have greatly improved. No more lies being told by the office staff and no more last minutes trying to find a carer to cover especially night carers. I don’t know about value for money as we do not pay for the care we receive.
In December we put forward one of our team of carers for exceptional service because she came in and worked single-handed when we as a family, along with the other carers all caught Covid just before Christmas. All our special needs daughter's carers over the last three years have displayed dedication, humour, adaptability along with professionalism while using their individual personalities and talents to enhance her day-to-day life. The office and management also play their roles very well. Therefore please note our gratitude and thanks.
I have used MyLife for two years to help me care for my husband on a three-times-a-week basis. All staff are kind and friendly as well as trustworthy. Some staff offer exceptional care and thoughtfulness. My husband was resistant to outside support initially. Now he looks forward to visits as he is treated with dignity and feels so much better after his showers and care. The office is prompt in their responses and generally tries to accommodate us as far as possible.
My wife suffered a massive stroke in April 2021, which has left her paralysed on her right side with speech very difficult to understand. This, of course, is a huge strain on our relationship. She has care visits from the same two carers on a regular basis, mainly for a weekly shower. She looks forward to these visits and enjoys the company of the carers as they try to understand what she is saying and get actively involved while they carry out their duties. She has built a trusting relationship with her two carers, who are genuinely interested in her recovery and progress.
Alerted to an issue with my mother's ongoing care by the carers. Called the office to be told that her care would be terminated in 3 working days and that Social Services should have called me! My mother is under NHS care, not SS. The manager promised to call me back but didn't. The app which informs of care received is not working so no way of checking what care is being received. My mother who has mobility issues is often looked after by one carer although this is deemed unsafe by MyLife. Lack of communication is a major issue that needs immediate attention.
Saddens me to say I cannot give you a glowing report. The way the office staff have treated the clients on the Herne Bay run has been appalling. After being given 28 days notice you haven't even bothered to follow up on how your clients are. No one has even bothered to wish mum good luck or say goodbye, after all she did nothing wrong you just could not provide carers or so you said. Our 4 main carers have been wonderful and every single one of them has shown care and compassion to mum throughout this stressful month.
This could be a very short review as I can only think of one word that actually sum's up MyLife Kent, that being Abysmal, but in fairness to other potential service users I will elaborate on why this company is so bad. In fairness to the actual carers, I would say that the vast majority of them are exactly that, carers who actually care for their clients and show that they care. Unfortunately, these dedicated cares are led by what I can only describe absolutely useless so-called Managers/Coordinator, who are very economical with the truth, in fact blatantly lie to the service users without any thought for the client's needs. One recent event that took place in August 2022, when this Company MyLife (Kent) actually failed to supply even one carer for a period of six days, expecting my Wife who herself suffers badly from arthritis to take care of my Mother In Law by herself without any 'professional' help, and they were quite happy with this situation. Next is to contact the CQC to report.
MyLife provides home care for my neighbour. His care is excellent. It is very reassuring for us to see that he is so well cared for. The office staff and manager have also been most helpful when I have contacted them.
I can’t thank MyLife enough for helping me sort care for my dad. They were so helpful from the first call through to arranging the carers. Everything was explained to me and my dad and all our questions answered. They understood how new this was to us all and was very patient with us. The carers were very kind to my dad and always on time and reliable. I will definitely use them again in the future when I need help. Thank you.
I have no hesitation in saying that all the carers have all been incredibly kind and professional in everything they do, making it their business to be respectful and displaying empathy and understanding when needed. With regard to management of the care given, My Life have always listened and made every effort to work with us to provide us with the necessary hours and personnel, although, with the fluctuating nature of Covid outbreaks affecting the workforce, I appreciate that this has been difficult at times. With regard to cost and value for money, I can only repeat that the carers themselves obviously take pride in their appearance, their professional image and their work. This in itself tells us that My Life only recruit staff they feel are 'up to the job'.
Came to MyLife after some problems with other care arrangements. Mum is 101 and pretty set in her ways, but even though not everyone did things just so (in her view), they were all, in her words, lovely people. Everyone appeared to be very kind, very caring, very professional and 100% trustworthy. The occasional inevitable delays were advised ahead of time, but someone always turned up. I also greatly appreciated the flexibility and helpfulness of the administrators as our needs changed over time - and sometimes at short notice. It was also clear that a real effort was made to find people who would be the best "fit" for Mum (not that she is that difficult). It must be a bit of a logistical nightmare to run a company like MyLife, and perfection in this life is impossible. Could they have done better? Realistically I don't think so. I would recommend them to anyone.
As a family, we have been very happy with the care provided to my grandfather. We found the care to be carried out very professionally from the start at the initial visit right until care was no longer needed, the whole process was made so easy for us as a family.
I would like to thank everyone at My Life involved with the care of my mother. From setting up the care plan to amendments that were necessary as her care needs changed, My Life always did everything they could to accommodate mum's needs. Where possible mum had the same carers every week (except for holiday cover) which was very much appreciated to give her continuity of care. We cannot fault the carers and the level of care that was given to mum.
Both my husband and I have received excellent care and support from MyLife. Thank you very much.
I would like to express how brilliant all the carers have been with my husband. All the carers have been fantastic but would love to give special mention to some carers who have been with us for so long and have just gone that extra mile and put us at ease. Without MyLife we wouldn’t have got my husband home from hospital and I will be forever grateful that we managed to get him home for his final days/weeks. As this has been his wish to be at home surrounded by family.
After previous bad experiences with other care providers, my aunt has been very pleased with the carers from MyLife who are enabling her to carry on living at home. They all do a great job and have a nice chat when they are there.
Just felt compelled to write a review as I’m so impressed with how MyLife has dealt with my mum. Mum has dementia and we’ve been through hell recently so decided to try her with some care. Mum has always been adamant she wouldn’t have care and can be very stubborn. The quality officer came to see Mum and they didn’t stop laughing and chatting, it was like they were long lost friends, the icing on the cake was Mum's dog sitting on the quality officer's lap (he’s not a small dog) which sealed the deal for Mum. Care has not long commenced but we are very impressed, they have all been lovely so far which is a weight lifted for us.
I am impressed by the honesty and transparency the company display in all aspects. The staff are generally friendly but equally professional. Every situation can be discussed, and a way forward found.
