View Full Details of Britannia Homecare LtdBritannia Homecare carers have been assisting my father to remain at home for over three years. They have treated him with respect, kindness and often with a little laughter which, for a person with dementia, means so much. Dad would look forward to them coming and remains grateful as does his wife and family for the care given. He has since deteriorated in his health and has become a resident in a 24-hour care home. Over the years, Britannia carers have meant Dad and Mum could continue to live in their own home and for that, we cannot thank them enough. Anyone looking for that extra care for themselves or a loved one could do no better than Britannia Homecare.
After breaking my femur quite badly I needed some support on my return home. A friend recommended Britannia Homecare to me. Whilst in hospital awaiting my discharge, the staff there contacted Britannia on my behalf and arranged their visits. I was a little unsure at first about having strangers in my home and how they would go about my care. I needn't have worried because they couldn't have been any more helpful and friendly. They provided me with the support and care I needed as and when I needed it. I was also a little concerned that they may come in and be very controlling but I couldn't have been more wrong. I was fully in control of what took place regarding their care of me at all times. They couldn't have been more caring, more helpful or much nicer. I looked forward to their visiting me each day as their company was friendly, caring and often good fun, they cheered me up no end. If I were ever to need carers again I wouldn't hesitate to contact Britannia Homecare.
The care provided to my late mum was first class. She absolutely adored the carer who provided the majority of her care and she always treated mum with respect and with a very cheery nature. Nothing was ever to much trouble and mum never felt rushed. Would highly recommend.
We have been with Britannia Homecare for quite a few years and found all carers absolutely lovely. They are very professional, but at the same time friendly and caring. They always come to the house with a smile and a happy approach. They treat my husband with respect, and are so patient with him as he is so slow with his mobility. Everything they do is to a high standard, and very accommodating. When you ring up, they are polite, understanding, and very helpful, and quite often with very useful advice. The carers are very trustworthy and reliable. Thank you, Britannia.
Britannia cared for my 90-year-old mum after a spell in hospital. This meant she was able to return home which she was desperate to do. The carers were very friendly and understanding, and Mum looked forward to them coming. The office staff were also very supportive and offered advice when we needed it - helped us to get disability aids for her home which she needed. Highly recommend Britannia if you are looking for someone to care for a loved one.
I found the office staff here very rude and unhelpful to the point where I could no longer deal with them and my husband had to take their calls. I told them numerous times that their carers were not staying the duration and in some cases, it was 7 minutes of an allocated hour. The office staff seem to think that when all their tasks are done they can leave but if you are being paid for an hour or 2 hours you should be available for that time. I had their app and I could see so many errors with timings and meds. I would stay away from this company. A care agency is supposed to make your life easier but this care home caused me anxiety and stress. If you do decide to use them make sure you have a ring doorbell so you can see their times of arrival and departure and insist on being on their App so you can see medications given and tasks done. I was given new carers and my life changed overnight.
Sadly, my brother died in hospital a few weeks ago but I would just like to say a huge thank you to Britannia who looked after him so brilliantly these last few years. Everyone in the office, especially one staff member in particular could not have done more and when needed were always on the end of the phone. His carers, 3 in particular ended up more as friends than his carers and I know how much he appreciated them. They were kind, caring, professional and helpful and did so much to encourage him when he was down or not feeling too good. I would honestly have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending them. Thank you Britannia, you really are a truly exceptional care company.
In my experience, what a company. My father had reablement with Britannia Homecare and we were so impressed with the team, when he needed care for longer we stayed with them. Our key contact in the office has been amazing in helping us with everything we need and the team of carers are second to none. When I needed more support in a family emergency, the out of hours team were so understanding and supportive and put extra help into place at the drop of a hat. Nothing is ever too much trouble. It's allowed me to enjoy my time with Dad!
Carers were great, however, the office staff were rude and unhelpfully. When we raised issues the default answer was to change agency. Management/directors refused to even discuss, I would choose a different agency again.
