View Full Details of Christies Care LtdWe had a wonderful respite carer for my dad when he wasn't very well, she was brilliant with him and he has asked if she can come back again. Overall our experience with live in care and hourly care has been excellent and I cannot recommend Christies Care enough.
We have been so impressed by and grateful for the amazing level of care provided by two carers. Both brought such warmth, professionalism, thoughtfulness, sensitivity, good humour and utter reliability to their work. My parents' health improved greatly as a result of this continued dedicated help and the whole family has benefited from knowing our two precious elders are in safe hands. The support team have worked at short notice to meet our needs and we could not recommend the company more highly. Thank you!
I could not talk more highly of the live in carer, who looked after my father whilst we were away for a few days. She was exemplary, she got the measure of my father straight away and made a real bond with him. When asked by Christies Care if I would be happy to have the carer again, I responded that I would positively ask for her in future.
My 98 year old aunt contracted a chest infection that weakened her to the point where she fell trying to go to the bathroom. Christies Care were able to supply live-in respite care from the following day. The carer they supplied was brilliant and my aunt was delighted with the care, support and encouragement to regain her mobility. Her carer was an excellent companion, accompanying my aunt to lunch and social engagements to maintain her normal lifestyle. Thank you to all at Christies Care.
The carer who came to look after my wife for a few days last week met or exceeded my expectations. This was the first time I was able to take a break in a couple of years and it was great to be getting positive feedback whilst away. Christies Care Ltd's management also impressed.
We had a live in carer move into our home to care for my elderly mother for two weeks so we could go on holiday. The communication before hand with Christies Care was very good and the carer was exceptionally helpful and good humoured with my mother. The carer built up a great rapport and kept us in the loop, enabling us to answer any quick questions whilst we were away. Our teenager was home for the second week and again, they got on very well with the carer. We have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Christies Care 24/7 live-in care package and will certainly use them in 2025 when we go on holiday.
We have had the pleasure of using Christies Care to provide respite care for my father several times over the last 18 month. In all cases, the carers were all fabulous and embraced the needs to adapt to my mum and dads unique requirements. The back office team also kept in contact regularly making sure the next block of care was timed perfectly. All in all a perfect service that made mum and dad feel confident and secure in the care provided.
My mother has had a live-in Christie's carer for about two months now. She was initially very reluctant, but soon responded to the well-trained, tactful, discreet, and friendly carer. After two weeks she had to move to another pre-arranged booking and we were very sorry to lose her, but the new lady was equally good and had to cope with a deterioration in my mother's condition after a fall while out with my brother. The carer has been very flexible and has been quick to find ways to calm and reassure my mother. She has also been very tactful and flexible in her dealings with the wider family. Christie's new client team are quick to respond and have provided very sensible and useful advice. I chose Christie's because of their commitment to training and their outstanding CQC rating. The carers also report that they are well looked after and I am sure this is reflected in the care they are then able to provide to much loved family members. I have been very impressed.
It's been a strange year since my dad passed away leaving Mum on her own in their house. However with these guys giving Mum the best possible care and attention it's been a bit easier. Having the updates from the care team has put our minds at rest on countless occasions. They've shown compassion and the highest professionalism many times. I can recommend these guys enough.
The carer was trustworthy, very personable, and easy to be around. She was highly adaptable and fully responsible. The carer was not intrusive but empathetic. She was flexible and relaxed. Her response to the circumstances and environment of the client was excellent. She reacted positively to many frequent visitors and the general comings and goings of employees, neighbours, and friends. The carer was highly organised and ensured that both the client and the house were left in good order when she left. The carer was a perfect fit for this client!
I cannot fault the service we received from Christie's. Both carers they provided were very well matched to my mother's temperament. They were good company for my mother but respectful of her wishes, in particular understanding that they were living in her house. They dealt with her medication correctly and knew when to seek help when her condition deteriorated. We all loved having them around. The Christie's team was always easy to get hold of on the telephone and checked in with us on a regular basis though not too often. Would definitely recommend it.
I've been a client of Christies for 12 years, in that time majority of support workers I've had have helped me to live my life on my terms. I have found most support workers to be well-trained, calm, empathetic, and understanding of my needs. On the rare occasion when I do have an issue office staff/local area managers are always keen to listen and understand what the issue may be and work with me to provide a resolution satisfactory to all parties. Support staff have made a real difference to me and many enable me to thrive not just survive. Most support workers provide a high standard of support that meets all of my needs including my wider emotional and social needs. What sets Christie's apart is their high-quality training, furthermore, I have regular contact with the office and local area manager and this is the key to a good working relationship, keeping those communication channels open. This enables me to be honest with them and know that what I say will be taken seriously.
The Christie's carer was very kind with a great sense of humour. She was very skilled at supporting my mother in a gentle and discreet way whilst making her smile. She also got on well with my mother's partner and was very good at providing detailed records which reassured me that everything was going to plan.
Christie's were wonderful looking after my mother after a bad fall and several weeks in hospital. The care arranged by social services was clearly inadequate and we were at our wit's end trying to look after her. We were recommended Christie's by a family friend and they sorted everything out, after a phone call on Tuesday they were able to get a live-in carer in on Thursday ahead of the long Easter weekend. Both carers we had were extremely professional and took care of all Mum's needs. The agency kept in touch constantly and sent various staff rounds to check how everything was going. A very good service would not hesitate to use them again.
My Father had a waking night carer for two weeks. She was absolutely lovely and very friendly and caring. She always reported to me in the morning about how my father had been at night. I can thoroughly recommend.
Sadly we had a terrible experience with Christies Care. We chose them as they are local, family run and we felt that they would ensure we had well-trained carers that lived their values. From the beginning things weren't great, Christies kept reducing the hours they were prepared to work at night, and whilst two of the carers were good, the other three were not: one expected my mum to clear up after her; one let my dad have a nasty fall that was avoidable and spoke to him in a very uncaring way (right up in his face, pointing viciously and having a go at him - he looked terrified), and the third carer ignored him when he needed help. My dad was a lovely man and would do anything to help anyone; yet when he needed help he was treated so badly by Christies. When I complained to Christies, they said they didn't believe me and would do nothing about it, therefore these carers are still working within Christies. I cannot recommend Christies Care.
After being unexpectedly readmitted to hospital postoperatively in early March 2024 it rapidly became impossible for me to rely on village friends and thus I requested professional help with domestic, pet care, and driving. Christie's Care Company was recommended to me by two villagers already using care support. The speed with which I was visited, assessed, and then offered a carer was 48 hours, which I thought was incredible. My first carer arrived three days later. I was phoned by Christies Care on my birthday to congratulate me and I felt this was extraordinary attention. I have had three 24/7 carers to enable me during my convalescent stages and a couple more hospital readmissions. My needs have been managing the house and domestic responsibilities in my absence, which includes total pet care, and driving me whenever needed. The last two carers were lovely people - attentive, reliable, good drivers, easy company, and shared a similar sense of humour so we laughed a lot together.
Christie's was responsive and helpful when we contacted them and put all the arrangements in place with professionalism. We were very pleased with the service provided and have used Christie's in the past for our family.
Excellent service throughout. We were at first disappointed not to have a carer whom we had used before, but the 'substitute' carer was equally good - relatively new to Christies, but clearly well-trained. She adopted just the right approach to dealing with my wife, who has mild dementia.
Our carer was wonderful to my mother and father. They described her as 'perfect in every way'. She took time to get to know them both as people and what was important in the care regime to them and how they liked to live. She quickly worked out the deal breakers, the ways to a quick win with both parents and, as a family, we could not fault her. Big thanks to her and the Christies team.
