Following a long stay in hospital after a spinal injury leaving me unable to walk or stand and being totally incontinent I have been using your carers for the last 3 months after previous disappointing ones. I have received brilliant care from them all, but I must mention my two carers who are outstanding, and go that extra mile to make sure I’m well looked after!
I would recommend DomCare without hesitation, for the high standards of care given to my late brother over the years. His team of carers were kindness itself, treating him with both patience and respect. Everyone from Management to the telephone advisors contributed in providing the very best care, especially in times of crisis.
My mom has used this agency for nearly a year now and they have treated her so so poorly! The manager does not take complaints seriously as I have contacted him numerous times complaining about the carers, instead, he puts the blame on my mom! Two carers, in particular, have been abusive towards my mom, snatching and making rude comments towards her and when we complained we did not receive any apology from them. The carers never turn up on time they are always either too early or far too late. Once a week they completely missed my moms call and make lame excuses as to why the carers couldn't make it. They have now started to lie about making phone calls to my house and arguing that we miss the carers doorbell when this is not true at all. We have complained to CQC about them. My mom is finally changing care agency in hopes that the next one will not be as rude and abusive. The managers at DomCare are the rudest people me and my family have come across. Highly do not recommend.
My mother has received excellent care from DomCare since May. The carers are kind, professional and understand the needs of my mom. They take time to chat and find out how Mom is that day. They are also very aware of Moms medication, and if there is a problem, they call me without delay. Also, if they feel Mom isn't well, they have acted quickly. The ladies are always well presented and always wear the now mandatory PPE. Because Mom tends to have the same ladies daily, they have built up a very good relationship. DomCare has been very reliable despite the difficulties faced this year, and have been a great support to me and my mom this year. Thanks so much.
My father, who is 97, has been cared for by DomCare for about 6 months now. Care has been excellent throughout. They always arrive with a smile and really cheer up my father. They have my contact number as well as my 2 brothers for any issues. My only constructive criticism is that I cannot at times understand the writing in the sign-in, tie-up book. I would definitely recommend DomCare.
DomCare are really helpful and caring from the manager right through to the ladies that care for my mom. The care ladies and the other ladies have been really kind and caring which is what we need as moms end of life care. I can only speak really highly of DomCare.
My mother was discharged home at the end of October 2020 after three months of hospitalisation and rehab care; she had an intensive package of care from DomCare with two carers visiting four times a day. As far as was possible, it was organised that Mum became familiar with the same carers coming at the same time of day so that she began to know their faces and personalities (which was difficult, when everyone has to wear a mask for Covid). I left a checklist for the carers of what was expected at each visit, which they said was really useful. Very occasionally something was overlooked but for the vast majority of times, everything was covered that was required. Naturally, carers have different personalities and approaches, however, I do know that Mum was happy with the level and standard of care that she was receiving. For the most part, the carers were of a cheerful disposition and worked efficiently. Visit logbook was completed, although writing not always legible.
Avoid the company. They do not put the client first would not recommend it to anybody. The carer we had was negligent lazy and dangerous. Carers don't turn up when they are supposed to. My mother didn't have a shower for a week. The carer said she didn't have any time. Gave mother chips for a week. Putting a complaint into CQC about the care company.
WOW WOW WOW, five star plus care for my mother. The team of 10-ladies were always on time, never missed even with the current pandemic and gave the most dignified respectful care to my dying mother, who sadly passed recently. Thank you so much to the team of ladies who made my mothers passage peaceful with the most wonderful care. Thank you for all your care for my mother. Kind regards, love from the family.
This agency "cared" for my mother at home. Visits rarely stretched beyond 10 minutes over a 12 month period (I witnessed this by being present at my mother's house without them knowing). Conversation with her was virtually none existent and at times didn't even include a "hello" or "goodbye". Although some of the carers were very polite and helpful, a couple of "bad apples" destroyed any trust I had with the agency.
