View Full Details of Home Instead (Broadstairs, Ramsgate and Margate)I am enormously impressed by the standard of care and support I am receiving from carers and management this year 2024 as a client enjoying the comfort of a weekly bath, warm and fragrant. Enjoying exceptional support with two carers working alternative weeks. I am delighted with honest, caring exchanges of humourous conversations and the therapeutic effect of laughter with trusted friends; professional and respectful; I feel blessed.
Carers are understanding, aware and caring. I like all my carers. They are always on time and helpful. I look forward to them coming everyday. The dog likes my carers and waits in the window for them to arrive. They are not just carers, they are like old friends from school.
I engaged Home Instead three times per day for my Mum (mild dementia diagnosis) on discharge to her own home following a hip operation and rehab in mid-2023 and we're both very happy with their service. Healthcare professionals are extremely experienced e.g. quick to spot, prevent and manage issues, liaise with e.g. NHS as necessary and come up with diverse methods to encourage Mum's eating. I welcome their guidance, advice and updates. Mum and I feel she's safe with her Healthcare professionals but all levels of Home Instead professionals have built genuinely kind, caring and trusting relationships with Mum (and our family) and their overall care enables her to remain at home. Mum says she's 'very lucky to have them'. I don't live close to her so Home Instead gives me peace of mind and while a little more expensive than some - they're worth it. I'll retain them for as long as possible! Thank you, Home Instead.
The care your company and staff gave to us was wonderful. Without you, we could not have kept my wife at home for her entire illness of 10 years and this was so important to both of us. Home Instead provides a caring-professional service without them I would not have managed. Thank you for being there when we needed you.
Home Instead have been helping my parents for several years. This review relates to the last few weeks of my father's life where the care they gave was beyond excellent. My father's needs had been getting gradually more complex - he'd stopped being able to transfer into his wheelchair using a board but the carers adapted to using the ceiling hoist so that he could continue to stay at home. In the last few days before he died carers helped us to get palliative end-of-life care put in place. I can't stress enough how much they did for us, making phone calls, checking in on us, dealing with my very agitated and distressed father, keeping us calm etc. In the last few days they were coming in four times a day and the care they showed for Dad and Mum was outstanding. We are hugely appreciative of everything they did, and for what they continue to do for my mother, even though her needs are domestic rather than personal care.
I have found Home Instead staff to be very helpful with good carers visiting. Always been good at punctuality and forming an excellent relationship with my wife over a period of time. Although expensive, I cannot speak too highly of the carers, also they are most understanding when time schedules need to be changed. I look forward to their continued help and care.
I find it difficult to fully describe the wonderful care and daily attention that my mother received over the years from the amazingly dedicated team at Home Instead. The individual carers became close and valued friends, and at 102 years old, as her requirements became more demanding, they never missed a step in providing skilled and sensitive attention to all aspects of care. From cooking and bathing, emergency medical needs, and hospital visits to just a fresh bunch of flowers. Incredible. Likewise, the management team, when faced with a challenging scheduling change, somehow pulled it off, always with a smile. She and I only have the deepest gratitude to them all.
I could not recommend Home Instead Ramsgate enough. They were wonderful. They were able to take my recently widowed aunt in hand when she stopped looking after herself. It was their attention to detail that spotted she had a stroke while the hospital denied it for 9 days. Without their encouragement, I would not have continued to fight for further testing. I will continue recommending the company to all my friends and colleagues.
We have used Home Instead (Broadstairs, Ramsgate and Margate) for the last 10 years plus. They have been amazing with my mother who suffers with anxiety as well as mobility problems. They also cared for my father until we lost him six years ago today. They were very worried with getting carers in the first place. The managers were brilliant talking to us all and finding the best and compatible carer for their individual needs. They have helped with advice and hospital appointments. They are very flexible and keep you informed of carers coming over the following week, times etc. Which for my mum's anxiety is really helpful. The carers are all fully trained and introduced to my mum and educated on her individual needs before being allowed to care for her. The carers do actually care for my mum, it's not just a job to them and they give her the time, privacy that she needs. They talk to her and not at her and the same carers are with Mum each day so a great rapport is built. Managers visit to complete reviews ensuring all is well.
At nearly 102 Dad is still in his own home. This is made possible by the support of carers and family. Home instead offers sensitive supportive care and have constantly adapted to our Dad's needs. The focus on both his physical and mental health care is much appreciated.
My wife and I have been clients of Home Instead for the best part of three years and they have served us well in aiding us to remain in our residence. We benefit from the regularity of carers arriving generally at their appointed times and the ability to contact their management office without difficulty. The abilities of the carers do vary and we try to play to strengths and steer away from individual weaknesses. We do find that carers' cooking abilities do vary.
Home Instead have been supporting me to care for my partner at home for over 2 years now. He has complex health care needs and continues to require 24-hour care and so their daily visits have been a lifesaver for him and for me. The Care that he requires has varied over this time and Home Instead have been flexible and responsive, adding a Companion visit and evening sitter to allow me some much-needed respite. They have never let us down. The carers are always on time, cheerful, willing and competent. We have also been fortunate to have regular contact with members of their Senior Management Team who are very knowledgeable and so I am able to discuss any concerns I have about his health and what we should do next.
I'd like to say a massive thank you to everyone at Home Instead. There is not one aspect of their service that isn't outstanding. It was a very daunting time for me to make the right call on who is best suited to look after my dear friend. From the staff in the office to the team who looked after Derek I'd like to say big thank you to everyone. I would highly recommend Home Instead to family and friends.
Home Instead have provided exceptional support for my Aunt for the past few years. This has meant that she has been able to continue living in her home of 75 years. We are so grateful for the care provided by the whole team and the excellent and diligent management of the team. We are confident that my aunt is well cared for and that there is proactive communication of any potential concerns. I know that the team really care for my Aunt and do all they can to make her life happy and anxiety-free. The whole team is highly professional but with a wonderful warm, caring touch and we could not manage without them.
I have a friend who has been a client with Home Instead since 2012. Home Instead has enabled her to continue living in her beloved home. She has regular carers who know her well and know how she likes to be supported. She also knows her carers well and enjoys spending time with them. One of her main carers recently arranged to spend their free time with her to celebrate her birthday. I would recommend Home instead to others.
Home Instead have been looking after my dad for a few years. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for professionalism, along with respecting the clients wishes, and their dignity. The carers are amazing and my dad loves their visits. They are definitely very aware of the clients health concerns and flag up any concerns immediately. All of the above let’s me have peace of mind knowing that he is being so well cared for!
My mum received care from the caregivers at Home Instead for several years before she eventually needed 24-hour care and is now in a nursing home near me. She is very happy and settled now thankfully. For many years Home Instead have helped Mum to stay independent. The caregivers were always on time, totally reliable, respectful and caring. They helped Mum make her own choices which helped her to be confident to stay at home. They contacted me whenever there was an issue with Mum. She formed really strong relationships and still talks very fondly and regularly about everyone. Mum's health was often up and down and we would talk to you about what care was needed. You were always so accommodating and wanted the best for Mum. She felt safe with you all and it really helped her to enjoy living at home as long as she could. All the caregivers were wonderful people. It seems unjust that caregivers do not get the same pay and recognition as NHS staff.
The quality and professionalism of the staff provided my dad with the very best care and gave me peace of mind. Having a consistent team visiting Dad ensured that he became familiar with his carers and that the carers were able to get to know him well. Despite a challenging situation in the later stages of my dad's care, I always felt that Dad's dignity was preserved. I felt that all members of the Home Instead team, from carers to managers, provided high quality and continued support primarily for my dad, but also to myself and my brother.
A couple of years ago I recognised that Mum was beginning to struggle with day to day living and living so far apart I would worry each time that I left, after staying with her. Home Instead (Broadstairs, Ramsgate and Margate) was mentioned by one of Mum's neighbours and from the moment we approached them we never looked back! Up until the beginning of last year Mum had been coping but enjoying a daily visit from a carer, for help around the house, for a chat and a coffee. Sadly things changed dramatically during Covid-19 and after multiple admissions to hospital, Mum came home to a bed downstairs with night care as well. Whilst I did my bit caring for Mum when I could, the dedicated carers were there for Mum. Mum had refused to go back to hospital so it meant with Home Instead (Broadstairs, Ramsgate and Margate) we could respect that wish and she passed peacefully away in February with a carer and myself at her side. I could not have done this without them, the exemplary care to Mum was extended to me and the family, to which I will always be truly grateful.
Mum fell and was found by her carer. The staff involved went above and beyond to gain entry and phoned for medical support. As I work away from home it took me a while to get there. Home Instead maintained a presence so it was less frightening for her. She was in hospital some time, but when she came out a revised care plan was implemented with no fuss or bother. She has a main carer that she knows well and trusts, which has been a great reassurance to myself and the rest of the family.
