View Full Details of Oxford Aunts CareWe used Oxford Aunts to look after my aunt for a couple of years and they have all been exceptionally caring and committed individuals. They have all been accommodating to the arrangements we already had, and were adaptable and cheerful. They quickly established a rapport with my aunt and became extra members of the family. As circumstances changed, we needed two carers who went above and beyond to look after her as her health declined.
Without exception the Oxford Aunts who came to care for my mother were highly professional, friendly and incredibly caring. My mother declined very rapidly over 4 weeks and so each time a carer came there was an altered situation to deal with. This never phased them and they offered new solutions and guidance to my brother and me. The Aunts went out of their way to help my mother feel as comfortable as possible at all times and to engage her in conversation, which she loved. They were also very caring and considerate of me and how the situation was affecting me.
The carer came to stay to support my parents for two weeks following my mother’s stroke. She was so kind, thoughtful and professional and fitted in so well with the whole family. When the care needed to be extended we didn’t hesitate to ask her to stay for a few extra days. We would highly recommend our carer and hope she will return to us later in the year when my mother is due to have a further operation.
All carers have been willing to let me do what I can and have been willing to prepare food when necessary. They have helped with my dog and taken me to appointments. I find it difficult to hear the tape when I have to ring the office and it is not always convenient to settle my account immediately. The managers have always been very helpful when they visit and answer my questions.
We've been using Oxford Aunts for around 18 months and have been happy with the service they provide. It gives my mum the chance to continue living at home even with her increasing care needs. There is always a bedding-in period with each carer while everybody gets used to one another then the carers take a six-week break every six weeks. The managers, notably one in particular, have ensured continuity of care whatever the circumstances. As far as carers go, one specifically has been really excellent. A very caring and careful person who my mum has grown very fond of. Thank you Oxford Aunts.
Oxford Aunts have been wonderful in providing holiday cover for my 92-year-old mother. They are very professional and my mother has very much liked and got on with the carers they provide. During the last period of cover, the heating and water broke down. The carer handled the whole situation quite superbly and we are really grateful for them looking after my mother so well. I would thoroughly recommend Oxford Aunts.
My mother with Alzheimer's dementia has benefitted from Oxford Aunts Care for nearly two years. They have good practical skills and respond appropriately to the changing needs of the client. They bring me peace of mind.
I am extremely happy at the moment because I have a long term carer who's been with me for a long time. I've been looked after extremely well as I need a lot of help and it is nice to have someone living with me.
Based on my experience, I rate Oxford Aunts Care most highly in every aspect of home care management. Reliable management and efficient. Most importantly - the very high standard of caring staff - well trained and knowledgeable. Respective to the user's needs and condition in every aspect as well as fitting in well with family.
Oxford Aunts are an extremely efficient and caring organisation. They matched a carer to my aunt and uncle and their lives have been enhanced because of this choice.
Very pleasant to have in the house, was almost like being at home again. I would be very glad if she came again.
We have used Oxford Aunts for 3 years to provide care for our increasingly frail mother. Having to manage her care from a distance, we needed absolute reliability and trustworthiness, continuous communication regarding her health and any related issues and above all skilled, caring and compassionate women. We found all of this with Oxford Aunts. Inevitably, there was the occasional personality clash but this was dealt with sensitively and with no break in care. Having a live-in carer is more expensive than residential care but there are so many advantages associated with being in one's own home with individual care, surrounded by one's personal possessions. Our mother was supported at home until she died. The take-over by Sodexo earlier this year has not affected our arrangement in any way. I would not hesitate to recommend Oxford Aunts to anyone looking for live-in care/carers.
Initially my husband, and soon after myself, have had carers from Oxford Aunts since June 2015. We have been completely satisfied and thankful for their care.
This is my first experience of care so I have no means of comparing it. I have, however, found the carers to be most helpful and pleasant. They have treated me with dignity and politeness and I have no complaints. The carer I have has, for the long term, had breaks of 2-3 weeks, and I have substitutes of equal quality.
Very good carers, very good cooks and care for the dog and me extremely well. I would recommend Oxford Aunts to friends and family without hesitation.
We were rather thrown into the world of live-in carers when our parents suddenly needed full-time care, and Oxford Aunts were a godsend. It has not all been plain sailing however, as not all carers are created equal and some are more caring, and patient, than others. It would be a good idea if Oxford Aunts carried out spot checks on their carers, as issues did arise from time to time and my frail, elderly mother wasn't up to managing the carers herself, and I couldn't be there all the time to oversee things. It's also a shame that Oxford Aunts have been swallowed up by a large corporate company, who have immediately put the prices up. We're moving to a smaller, more hands-on company as a result.
Oxford Aunts was the third company we tried towards the end of 2018 to secure live in support for our Mother. The other two being larger "national" service providers. Despite going through the preparation stages with lots of assurances, with these two companies both failed to actually find carers to put forward to provide the service. Oxford Aunts was then recommended to us and our first live-in lady arrived Mid January. She was very experienced and very well suited to our situation. In the 7 weeks she was with us, she was an enormous support not only to our Mother but also to the rest of the family.
