View Full Details of PillarCare AgencyWe had overnight care for a week and the ladies were lovely and caring and did everything to make my return from hospital possible.
We are very happy with the care PillarCare arranged for our late mother. The PillarCare team are very friendly, kind and helpful. A member of the team regularly visited our mother at home and took a close interest in her satisfaction with the care she received and her well-being. The service is well-organised. The team were in close contact with the carers about any issues that arose. Whenever a carer had days off or was on holiday, they arranged for another carer to cover the absence seamlessly. The team were excellent in providing advice and assistance on a range of care-related issues over the years. The carers whom PillarCare employed were good. In particular, the live-in carers who looked after our mother in the last couple of years of her life as her abilities declined were excellent. They were very kind and caring and did so much to ensure that our mother was happy. We are very grateful to them and to the PillarCare team.
The staff from PillarCare provided incredible support to my father and his partner during the final months of his life. The management team are amazingly caring and efficient. Their professional, person-centred approach makes the process of setting up care for loved ones as stress-free as possible for family members. Meanwhile, the wonderful carers kept him company during the day, a few times a week, so that his partner felt confident to spend time away from the flat but most importantly they kept him safe from falls at night so that she could sleep. We had contact with many different agencies during 2022/2023 and with PillarCare we knew that Dad was in safe hands.
I feel very lucky to have a carer. She looks after me very well and makes sure that I do my exercises twice every day. Her cooking is wonderful and she keeps the house very nice. I could say a lot more, she is wonderful.
I have used PillarCare several times, first for my husband then after his death for myself. This agency is excellent, efficient and compassionate. The carers are diligent and kind.
PillarCare provided an excellent level of service. They quickly visited my mother in hospital and undertook a needs review to assist with getting my mother back to her home. Care was put into place and a start date agreed with the hospital. The discharge was delayed by the hospital and PillarCare and their carers were incredibly flexible to support this. All staff we encountered were professional and extremely caring and kind as one would expect. They grasped quickly my mother's needs and aims and supported her in achieving them. Care was reduced in a staged manner as my mother improved until no longer required. We would have no hesitation returning to PillarCare should the need arise.
Once a few teething problems were sorted they were excellent. I was not keen on two of the carers in the early weeks and Pillarcare responded promptly with alternatives. My husband had palliative care over a period of five months ending in May 2023 and the two principal carers who looked after him during that period - one for most of the day and the other for most of the night - were gentle, kind, professional, reliable, and sensitive in their relationship with him as well as me. They both attended his funeral and sent me solicitous messages to see how I was coping several weeks later. It's just not a question of professionalism and competence, the chemistry has to be right as they are strangers in your home - and I have to say that these two got it right for 99 percent of the time. The backup service from head office was supportive and helpful at all times.
I found the service responsive, sensible and comforting. The staff answering the initial enquiries were efficient and well informed, they inspired confidence (unlike some competitor organisations). The home visit was efficient, supportive and inspired confidence in what was to come. My carer was lovely. She understood the need to be available but not intrusive. She was willing, efficient and kind. She made a huge difference. My only negative comment is a very small one. As your carers are likely to be working in professional homes, it might be helpful to cover some procedural basics such as making tea in a pot, not delivering a mug with a tea bag.
The experience of receiving support from PillarCare has been very positive. What I find really impressive is the way the agency keeps in close touch with developments and goes to a great deal of trouble to match the carer to the client. They assess needs with attention to detail and understand when the situation changes. Our circumstances have been challenging as my husband can be difficult. The patience of his carer knows no bounds; he does all he can to ensure that everything goes as well as possible. The professionalism and efficiency of the organisation are reassuring as I know that if there was an emergency, they would be there to support us.
We are new clients but have been very impressed with the standard of the Carers and particularly with Pillar's focus on finding carers who not only have the necessary skills but are also individuals whom my husband would enjoy having around him.
I had a fantastic experience with Pillar Care Agency, using their waking night care service. The carer herself was punctual and experienced, and my mum had the best sleep she's had in weeks. The care manager was fantastic. I called in the morning looking for waking night care and within 4 hours she was at my home assessing my mum and her needs, organising for a carer to come that same night. She helped me with the GP and community care team also as this can be very confusing and difficult. Overall, Pillar Care really helped us to navigate a difficult time. They are very prompt, attentive to your needs and know how to navigate the system they work within very well!
I, along with other family members, are very satisfied with the care provided. The staff have been exceptionally attentive and caring. It is great to know that a close relative is in very good hands particularly when we are unable to visit as frequently as we would prefer.
PillarCare Agency arranged and supervised care for our mother from 2014 - 2021. Over these 7 years, PillarCare management were available, attentive and engaged. They supplied and managed a succession of full time, permanent and temporary carers, almost all of whom were well-suited and well trained for the job and provided excellently, committed care. On the few occasions when a carer didn’t work out, PillarCare managed the situation well and discretely, finding a replacement quickly. PillarCare’s supervision and support for their carers seem very good, and their interaction with us and with our mother was always professional and sympathetic. We have already recommended PillarCare to friends in similar situations and would readily do so again.
We, as a family, really can't express our gratitude to the managers and all the team at PillarCare for the care, support, advice and guidance they have given us and the care they have provided to both our aunt and uncle who live in London. We all live in Leeds so it was really important to find the right agency we could trust and absolutely rely on, especially in the middle of a pandemic - and we certainly found that in PillarCare. As is often the case, we were looking for care as a result of a crisis. We needed immediate help and we are so grateful that we were recommended to PillarCare by a friend. I actually run a care company in Leeds and in 15 years, I have never come across another company, like ours, that genuinely cares for their clients and is able to provide such comprehensive support to family members, especially when, like us, they live away. We cannot recommend them highly enough.
We were recommended to contact PillarCare when my aunt had a fall last year and was admitted to hospital. She was the carer for her brother, my uncle, and we needed a live-in carer for him really quickly. PillarCare were able to put a care package in place within days. They were also able to do the same for my aunt when she came home from hospital. The transition to full-time care is not an easy one but PillarCare have supported us through everything. We and my aunt and uncle are very happy with the long-term, stable, really high-quality care.
Pillarcare has found carers for two elderly relatives in the last year. In both cases, they responded quickly and were very thoughtful about finding the right carer. They have been helpful in managing COVID safety restrictions, supporting carers to stay longer than they usually would to reduce the risk. I would definitely recommend them.
Management is very helpful and willing to find the right person. Carers are mostly experienced, friendly and willing to accommodate a difficult client.
PillarCare Agency helped support my mother critically after a hip replacement. She now needs help as part of a dementia care plan. I really liked the lengths they went to in finding the right carer, in terms of personality, experience and flexibility. As a result, all three of us are very satisfied, whilst early days, at the moment.
I have found my carer a good carer. A secret that all the carers I have had were not strong on cooking. I like the staff and management but I was not told who was coming to me as a carer - also did not inform me about what was happening to my previous carer.
I had three different carers from PillarCare. They were all very good and kind and took their job seriously. I have only one thing from the three of them is that I wish they hadn't talked to me as if my husband wasn't in the room. They didn't include him when he was beside them in the room. The current thinking about people with dementia is that they do understand when they are being talked about and that it is important to include them.
