View Full Details of Bluebird Care Calderdale & BradfordBluebird care took over my mums care over 12 months ago, we have been really satisfied with the care she has received and continues to receive. All the carers do a brilliant job with her and the interaction she has with them is also really good,
On the whole, I find the Bluebird Care service absolutely fine, they show care and respect when assisting my mother and her daily needs. They keep to schedule as close as possible and are always polite, they check that my mother has taken her prescribed medication. I believe the service could be improved if they could send regular carers who would start to know my Mother's needs better, than currently as there seem to be many different carers visiting.
Staff are very efficient, friendly, caring and polite. They have gone the extra mile for my dad. Once when his medication was late, and one evening when he had fallen they called me and the care line then waited until I arrived. Would recommend.
Bluebird have been caring for my elderly father for over 12 months and have been excellent. They are always pleasant and helpful in difficult circumstances. They have and continue to help by getting him mobilised and he now can move with assistance using a frame. They have encouraged him and continue to assist in him starting to paint and use his art materials.
The carers are very caring but would like them to be able to do more variety of food and would like the same carers as my mother is getting too many different carers as my mother can tell them what she needs but can’t show them where things are as unable to walk.
We needed the support care for my husband and I can’t thank Bluebird Care enough. We are now in a routine, assist in personal care, assist in hydro sessions, assist in physio exercises at home and clinic, assist in baking, and cooking, assist in helping my husband back into the community. Lovely ladies and gents, who can’t do enough for us. Thank you.
Overall I am very pleased with the service my Mum is getting. I only have one comment really and that is the timings of the visits are sometimes not accurate to the schedule. My Mum particularly gets agitated when they call early on a night time and she has to go to bed. I have spoken to the team on several occasions but to no avail.
The Bluebird staff are always friendly and always take care of Mum's needs, should she need a doctor for instance. Things sometimes go a bit awol if new carers have started with her shopping, but hey ho, we all have to learn. Otherwise, all fine.
Level of care is good, carers are compassionate and caring and are always on time for their visits throughout the day. Very friendly and have a good rapport with both patient and family. Would definitely recommend.
The care workers take their time and talk to my dad, even though he may not always respond. They demonstrate kindness to him. When I am there, I never hear my dad shouting "Oh don't", which he used to do with the care workers who cared for him before Bluebird took over. They reassure him all the time.
Excellent level of care. Carers get to know and understand the needs of the client and react accordingly. Regular staff so minimal disruption to the client making him comfortable with the carers. As the son of this 96-year-old man, I am delighted with all aspects of this company's performance.
I'd happily recommend Bluebird Care to anyone who needs help supporting a relative at home. I know Dad is safe, clean, fed and happy with his care team, so I can get on with my life, without worrying about him. Dad was not the easiest of patients to care for and at one point we thought we might have to resort to a care home when he was with a previous care provider but since changing to Bluebird their professionalism, care and 'can do' approach have made a huge difference. Their online interface means I can check how he's doing anytime and they always call with any concerns. Bluebird changed dad's life and therefore my life for the better.
The girls are all very nice, but the notes leave a lot to be desired. We rarely know whether my mum has had her medication, and they arrive too late for lunch. The idea was for them to make her lunch and ensure she eats it. My mum tells them she’s eaten, but we have no idea whether she has it or not. At the moment it’s just not working for us due to my mum's lack of memory. My mum must be the easiest 45 mins they have all day because they don’t do anything.
We would like to say a very big thank you to Bluebird Care, they have been looking after my mum for the last few months. Since she returned from hospital, they have shown such respect and treated her with dignity and empathy. They have gone beyond anything they needed to do, and because of how their carers work, my mum ended her days at home happily, until the last day when she needed professional care from doctors and nursing staff.
I would not recommend this care company based on my personal experience over 3 days and that I have sent in a letter of concern and had no response. My father was taken to hospital against doctor's wishes as the person he was visiting had tested positive for Covid. This put all at risk. My father was told to put his socks on at 94, very dangerous as he could have toppled over. My father was taken for a shower and his personal alarm was not put back on. The carers did not check the back door, it blew open and they said my father opened it. The one carer comes into the house out of work hours, we do not know if they are insured to do so or if they are covered by insurance if anything went wrong. They gossip to others, who are not carers, about private matters is not professional. Some of the carers are lovely but this one has, in my opinion, broken professional boundaries and carer client confidentiality.
During the lockdown, my sisters and I were worried about our recently widowed, 79-year-old Mum who was becoming increasingly anxious and lonely. She lives 200 miles from us, so we had only spoken to her by phone for well over 4 months. In June, she was diagnosed with an eye infection and when she was able to come and stay with me, I was concerned at the amount of medication (eye drops and tablets) she had to take throughout the day. We knew that we could not send her home on her own again without help. We found the Bluebird Calderdale team through Google and from the moment we spoke to them we were so impressed. Within less than 48 hours, they began twice daily visits and we noticed a positive change in Mum immediately. They advised us to speak to the GP and get a dosset box for her tablets, which otherwise we would never have known about and which helped immensely. Mum looked forward to the carer visits so much and we could not have asked for better care for her. Brilliant all round.
I found from the first contact everything was efficient. Your staff (carers) were very good and had compassion for my Dad. One person was wonderful. As no names, I shall refer to him as male G. I was impressed by his care and attention he gave and nothing was too much bother. I thank you all for the care you gave to me and my lovely dad.
The two staff who came most of the time were totally on top of their job. Compassion and competence were daily in evidence. They seemed to go out of their way to achieve high personal and professional standards. Impossible to fault them in any way.
I have now spent 13 weeks in isolation (shielded) and could not have managed without the help of Bluebird Care. I was frustrated trying to get a 'slot' at supermarkets and to know someone would collect my list, done shopping, and put it in the lift for me to take out has made life a little more bearable each Wednesday. I have had this done with just one hour of payment. The girl who comes to me is delightful, happy, and willing. Thank you!
My mother came out of hospital for palliative care on a Monday afternoon and died the following Tuesday. During all this time I felt the two carers that came each time treated Mum with dignity and did everything they could to make sure she was comfortable in bed. Two carers were with Mum and me when she passed. They gave me as much comfort as they could subject to Covid restrictions and offered to come back after they had finished their shift. The only slight problem was they came at different times every morning. I only found out if I asked.
