View Full Details of Home Instead (Cambridge)Home Instead Cambridge have been helping me as I recover from a broken hip after discharge from hospital. Office staff have taken great care in establishing what was needed, and the helpers have arrived punctually, been very friendly, efficient and willing to do whatever I needed, including escorting me on walks, as well as looking after the house, laundry, etc. - everything I couldn't do myself for the moment. I would happily recommend Home Instead for the quality of care given.
I changed my father's care agency from another to Home Instead in the Autumn. The difference in the kind of care and quality of care provided has made a really significant difference to his well being. The carers assigned to him are more constant and timings of visits are set. This predictability gives my father and myself the ability to plan outings and medical appointments. The carers are able to take his blood pressure regularly or if they are concerned. The app that is used by Home Instead allows me access to my father's care plan to see the tasks completed. What I find most reassuring are the daily visit notes letting me know how my father's care was during the visit. The carers use their initiative and judgement; they are friendly and engaging. A good chat with genuine interest makes my father feel valued and sets him up for the day! Changing to the services of Home Instead has been such a positive decision and I can relax knowing my father is in good hands.
Home Instead provided a professional service and communicated well with daily reports of what took place during the companion visits.
“It is difficult to make predictions, especially about the future.” When an unfortunate fall put me in hospital and in need of help with everyday chores even after hospital and follow-up care, my daughter had arranged for care visits by Home Instead (Cambridge). For more than two months they provided a necessary lifeline, and their service was excellent, particularly because of the carers. Unsurprisingly, all of them had very different personalities, but they had one crucial feature in common – they provided excellent care. They were attentive, observant, reliable, encouraging, cheerful and professional – and above all kind and caring! I can only recommend their service wholeheartedly.
My parents have live-in care, which has been provided since October 2021. There have been problems with communication with the office during the period of handover to the new owners. Queries regarding billing have not been fully addressed. A recent face-to-face meeting has helped to resolve some issues. At the point of delivery of the care, the service is excellent.
Thanks to the ongoing support of the care givers and the team in the office, my parents' well-being has improved and I even managed to take them out for lunch on Easter Sunday which was wonderful! It's not been an easy journey but the whole Cambridge team at Home Instead have been excellent. Thank you all!
We only had the services of Home Instead for a very short period as my Mother's condition deteriorated to require full time care in a care home. The carers were all very good, and quickly built a good rapport with my Mum. The ability to have someone for the hour meant that nothing felt rushed, and she felt confident with their help.
Home Instead have provided services for my parents for the last four plus years and seen us through various ups and downs including my father's death earlier this year. The standards of care have been high with great attention to personal care, peace of mind, nutrition and safety. The regular care givers were all kind, hard working and interested in their clients, and we particularly appreciated the overnight sleep-ins which became necessary and gave my mother and the family further afield much needed peace of mind. We did have an isolated poor experience with attempts to find a live-in carer through Home Instead, which ended very badly, but the management put a lot of effort into resolving that and our trust was restored. I would not hesitate to recommend them to others.
High standards of hygiene. Professionalism and friendliness of carers. Compassionate and patient carers. Willingness of management to replace carers, who though competent, were not liked. Regular progress checks.
We had carers from Home Instead coming two or three times a week for 3 hours in the afternoon to look after my wife, starting in August 2020 and only stopping when she moved to a care home towards the end of January 2022. By that time, we also had someone coming in for an hour every weekday morning to help my wife to get up and get dressed. All the carers were lovely - warm and caring and good at finding things for her to do, from taking her for a walk to reading to her. It was like having a member of the family coming to sit with her. But they were also professionally correct at all times. I cannot fault any of them and I really appreciated all the help and companionship they gave to my wife and to me. The office staff were also very helpful and caring.
Home Instead cared for my friend for over four years, the level of support increasing with the degree of need. Over the last two years, the Home Instead Caregivers worked alongside a live-in carer giving support as physical incapacity took its toll. Liaison was very smooth with the two organisations working well together. The level of care provided was highly professional and all the Caregivers were kind, compassionate and skilled. The service was utterly reliable. We were never, ever, let down. Care was consistent, so that the same people visited regularly so that my friend got to know them as far as she was able. Even during the Covid lockdowns, there was no hitch or hiatus and our friend was kept free from infection. We are incredibly grateful for everything, which enabled our friend to remain in her own home, safely and securely, until the end of her life. Thank you all so much.
Home instead were very kind and supportive to my mother. They managed to look after her with compassion. I found the office staff very responsive to her needs and sufficiently flexible to help me out when needed. My thanks go to the two staff who were especially good to her and gave her most of her care.
Home Instead supported my mother who had dementia. It enabled her to enjoy a quality of life that was deteriorating prior to their input. The service was excellent. They offered individualised care appropriate for my mother who was able to do many things but required prompting. Home Instead listened to her, who loved to talk bless her, her partner’s and my questions. They kept us informed of changes that occasionally happened during the Covid pandemic but were always professional and informative. The care provided is in my opinion “gold standard”. The carers demonstrated respect and dignity at all times. One carer who was a constant in my mother’s time with Home Instead requires me to say a massive thank you to her. My mother did not forget her name despite dementia. Sadly my mother died in August 2021 but I am so grateful to everyone who knew her.
Home Instead carers and office staff are amazing. The kindness they have shown to my mother and our family is exemplary. Carers were rarely late (unavoidable) and were both professional and friendly, treating my mother with the utmost dignity and respect. The office staff were very helpful and went out of their way to accommodate changes and crises as they arose. I cannot praise them highly enough.
My fiercely independent 95-year-old father was initially extremely reluctant to consider any additional help, but within a short space of time was accepting the caregivers' suggestions and looking forward to their visits! The caregivers were very sensitive to my father's needs and gradually built up a trusting relationship which resulted in him allowing them to assist with intimate tasks such as personal care. Home Instead was extremely responsive to the changing requirements brought on by my father's deteriorating health and mobility and managed to quickly increase his level of service from just 2 visits per week to 2 visits per day. The office was excellent at keeping me informed of any concerns after visiting my father and were always very understanding and considerate in their approach. The caregivers' invaluable help enabled my father to stay in his own home until he was admitted to hospital, where he sadly died 2 weeks later in June this year.
Invaluable help in the last few years of my husband's life, now giving me help due to my failing sight diminishing mobility. Excellent organisation, perfect time keeping and record keeping.
Regular caregivers provide outstandingly good service and are willing to do whatever needs doing - in a cheerful manner. I cannot imagine a more helpful and satisfactory service. The organisation is responsive to changes in my requirements. Home Instead service enables me to live at home and gives my family peace of mind.
Home Instead provided really good care for my father with early dementia. They were keen to get to know him and find carers that worked best for him. The carers were kind, reliable and showed lots of respect for my father. They were good at problem-solving and spotting the things that as a family we needed to know. The office staff were very responsive and communicated well with us.
My 98 yr old aunt, suffering from dementia, was reluctant to have care, but within a short time, she was accepting the caregivers as friends. This has enabled her to stay in her own home for 3 yrs. Sadly she had a fall and had to have a spell in hospital which has led on to being transferred to a care home. I live 150 miles away from my aunt. Home Instead has given me peace of mind that she was being cared for particularly during the lockdowns. Home Instead has kept me informed of her progress and needs.
Following Mother's death last September, Home Instead provided a caregiver to my father who is 93-years-old and has not enjoyed good health. In addition to undertaking household tasks, the caregiver took him shopping. Most importantly, he provided companionship during a difficult time. In the last few months, the caregiver helped draft my father's life story. The sole reason for stopping the use of Home Instead is that my father has now moved into a supported living facility.
