View Full Details of Universal Care Services - HinckleyAs my parents’ needs have become more complex, Universal has worked tirelessly to maintain a high level of skilled support. The office team are responsive, honest and compassionate. The carers have almost exclusively been superb: they are well presented, work efficiently, always willing to listen and take on board my parents’ wishes. They are respectful of their home environment and committed to preserving their dignity with regard to personal care. Carers are good timekeepers and work hard for the whole session. On a couple of occasions, when this has not been the case, management has responded swiftly to address my concerns and I remain confident of Universal’s commitment to a client-focused high standard of care.
Wouldn't recommend, very badly managed and unprofessional, timekeeping is atrocious, some carers could do with more training. Complaints are not acted upon, falls on deaf ears. Even met with hostility from management and care staff.
Great members of staff who seem to enjoy their job and get the training they need. Provide the best service they can. They wear the correct PPE which makes the service user feel safe with everything going on.
Mum has been receiving care since the new year, after coming home from hospital. From day one, the care has been excellent. I felt that Universal Care Services were a caring and professional company, after our initial meeting with the manager, which was very reassuring. All of the carers have been lovely, and Mum generally sees the same people each day, which includes two carers, four visits a day, so we feel comfortable and familiar with them. It is very much appreciated, the hard work that they do... not just for Mum, but for everyone else that needs personal care and attention by them.
A reliable, caring company. The carers like to go the extra mile for their service users and their needs and it shows. A consistent level of care and quality of care is given towards those who struggle. Would highly recommend.
The carers that my husband has had, apart from one, have been excellent. They are caring, friendly and very professional. We have night carers and their service has been very good, it has given me a good nights sleep for three nights a week - this has been very much appreciated. I, in particular, have been extremely satisfied with the care received. I know my husband too appreciates the care, although is not always able to show it. Thank you.
All the girls treated me with care, they are all great.
Only concern - no carer turned up on Christmas Day and we could not get through on phone. Very happy with the consistency. Our usual carer is fantastic and deserves a big mention.
We have not been with Universal Care Services for long but up to now we are quite satisfied with the service we receive.
My carers are thoughtful and helpful at all times.
Overall, the carers are kind and considerate. The management though is poor with apparent high staff turn-over and appointment times frequently varied without notice. We have had particular problems with the company unable to adjust visit times to suit hospital appointments resulting in either missed appointments or care visits.
I had heard a lot of stories about this company. Some good, some bad, and wasn't sure what to believe, but we have been using Universal Care Services for a few months now and I must say we are so glad we did. Amazing Carers and very helpful staff. They always go above and beyond to ensure my Step Mother is comfortable and it has taken so much pressure off my Father as he isn't in the best of health either. Universal Care are very accommodating as we have a lot of family engagements and have to change our calls last minute. They always ensure that this is possible. Very polite and well-mannered office staff and the Carers could not make my Step Mother and my Father feel more at ease, they are always telling us how friendly and kind their carers are and how much they look forward to their visits. Myself and our family can't thank Universal Care Services enough for all they do, without them my Step Mother would be in a home, not our family home. Thank you for keeping our family together.
In 4 1/2 years with the company I have rarely had an issue with the personal care received. The poor communication and ability to provide times agreed with my social worker at the outset, triggered them sack me!! The coordinator randomly changed my allotted times and appeared to go out of his way to ensure that other newer clients took my "agreed times". The coordinator couldn't seem to understand that I did not want to spend only 9 3/4 out of bed, and, 13 1/4 hours a day in bed. This severely impacted on my quality of life. I was almost relieved that another care company has been found and taken me on as a "time critical" client. I am sorry that I will lose contact with some very nice and capable carers, and, supervisors who were almost like friends over the last 4 1/2 years. Thankfully I have the ability to move on and the stress caused in the last few weeks will soon be a distant memory.
