View Full Details of Home Instead (Chesterfield)10 years of wonderful care for my Mum, and Home-Instead, Chesterfield, the best choice ever made. From 93 years of age to almost 103, they adapted to Mum's every need. For many years it was taking her out and keeping her engaged with the community, always reliable and on time. The 'end of life' saw just how adaptable, flexible, caring and thoroughly dependable Home-Instead is. The Care Professionals made Mum's last weeks/days serene and positive. They proactively and warmly guided us through a difficult time, and met all her and our needs. After her passing, they continued to support us in practical ways. I couldn't find warm enough praise for them.
It is difficult to adequately express how outstanding Home Instead were in caring for my mother-in-law. My mother-in-law, charming and gracious as she was, posed a wide range of significant challenges to Home Instead providing the care which they, and our whole family, so desperately wanted to give to her. Despite the countless problems, Home Instead remained utterly committed to making the care programme we had jointly designed work effectively. Home Instead's manager, worked tirelessly to ensure that the wishes of the family were put into place exactly as requested and showed exemplary initiative on many occasions. The Care Professionals who attended my mother-in-law were models both of professionalism and, just as importantly kindness. They could not have done more for her and, like the manager, were proactive in what they did. If we had been paying £1000 a day Home Instead could not have done more.
My 90-year-old father had been in hospital and on his return home we had a live-in carer from another company, who on many occasions was found asleep and not tending to dad's needs. We then looked into carers' calls and had heard of Home Instead. From the onset from coming out to assess Dad in his own home, set a care plan and discussed Dad's needs with us they were extremely professional. Dad had his awkward days, but they were patient, kind and resourceful. Dad was eating very little but they always tried to get him to eat, also leaving cold drinks, biscuits, coffee etc so there was something in case he changed his mind. They made his bed and always left his property clean and tidy, we were always informed of any concerns, we couldn't recommend Home Instead highly enough and will definitely recommend them to anyone needing carers at home. We didn't see any carers who Dad didn't like. Thank you so much, would highly recommend.
Excellent care was provided for my parents. Friendly staff who give my parents good companionship as well as doing jobs for them. They have built up a good relationship with them as it’s the same few staff who visit which gives us peace of mind that their needs are being properly catered for.
From the moment that we contacted Home Instead (HI) the family and my mother-in-law have been provided with exceptional care and service from all at HI. There have been numerous occasions when the carers have gone the extra mile. It is no surprise to us that HI are rated as outstanding by the Care Quality Commission. I would not hesitate to recommend HI.
I was very reluctant to start having care at home for my husband, who has Alzheimer's disease. After being reassured by the management of Home Instead, I started to have a sitting service for a few hours each week to enable me to have a break and spend time with my family. This worked really well, and my husband was always happy to see them and enjoyed chatting and singing along to his favourite music. As his condition progressed, I started to have daily visits to help with personal care. I can not praise the caregivers enough. They are all so professional and compassionate. Our regular carer is an absolute gem, and we both look upon her as a valued friend, not a carer. I am so pleased I found Home Instead, they are so accommodating, I have had reasons to change some visit times and book extra visits at short notice over the last few months. Every time I am met with a 'no problem' approach, they do their absolute best to facilitate this. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
It is an emotionally challenging time when you are faced with the need to seek care for a much-loved family member. A search online bombards you with advertisements for care support in the community but finding a company that cares as much about the client as they do about the business is a difficult task. I was in such a predicament when a close friend recommended Home Instead. What a relief! I cannot praise them enough. Every member of staff and management without exception was brilliant, not just with my father but with me and my family. They go out of their way to accommodate your requirements and are flexible to meet your needs. It is no surprise to me that they do not need to advertise their services. They have been a saving grace for our family, stepping in at short notice when we were faced with an emergency situation. I highly recommend Home Instead.
Our experience with Home Instead who looked after my mum up to the period of January 2024 was excellent. The care they provided was exceptional. I can only say positive things about them. They showed great care and compassion towards not only my mother but also to me, they kept us up to date with how Mum was doing and all I can say is a great big thank you. My mum ended up in hospital and they visited her there showing just as much care and compassion as they had whilst she was at home. My absolute thanks goes out to all the carers who were involved in my mum's care - you were all excellent and there are too many thank yous to thank you all personally.
Can't recommend Home Instead Chesterfield highly enough. We started with a small amount of support for our mum. We didn't think she'd accept the help, she is very independent and proud. Home Instead did an amazing job of getting to know her and using that knowledge to inform their approach to her on visits. The attention to detail in the care plan is incredible and the care is personalised, respectful, kind, professional and friendly. We currently have four visits a day and we've had nights when needed. Home Instead have been responsive, flexible and supportive during what has been a difficult time. We enjoy them being there when we are there too and we love that they don't wear uniform! A great team and amazing service from the first telephone call to date.
I strongly recommend Home Instead who provide really excellent care. The carers are without exception friendly, caring and professional. The management are responsive and supportive. They have selected carers who they feel will get on well with my father. Except in exceptional circumstances they send the same few carers so my father has got to know them well and really enjoys their company. Having the app so I can view care visit information is also very helpful.
Very happy with the service my mum has received from Home Instead over the last couple of months. Everyone we’ve dealt with at the company has been professional but also friendly, and the few queries we’ve had have always been dealt with promptly. Thank you!
We have been using Home Instead for just over 18 months now - they provide 3 hours of care every day for my elderly mother. She suffers from Alzheimer's and is finding it increasingly difficult to manage many aspects of her everyday life. We are extremely happy with the high quality of service that the Home Instead team are consistently delivering - in particular, we are consistently impressed by the high level of professionalism that is on display, every time we meet, or speak, with anyone that is associated with Home Instead. Furthermore, because I'm not living close by, I rely on Home Instead of stepping in for every single issue that might arise. This is key for me, and therefore, good communication is an absolute priority for me. They are exemplary in this regard and for this, I'm very grateful. Well done and keep up the good work!
I chose Home Instead on a personal recommendation two years ago. I recognised my need for respite and wanted to accustom us to having carers in our home because I knew that the need for more care would become essential. My loved one is now in the later stages of dementia, needing a specialised level of personal care. As the dementia has progressed, the managers of the service and the care professionals have supported us throughout, working alongside us, listening and responding to our needs, updating care plans as necessary, offering much needed guidance and empathy. It takes a team to care for someone with dementia and Home Instead, in collaboration with community-based medical professionals, are an integral part of our team. Ahead of us, there will be some challenging times and difficult decisions to make but knowing that I can rely on their professionalism and dependable support gives me confidence in my ability, together with them to manage the complex needs of my loved one.
Home Instead staff were very caring and professional in dealing with my mum's fall yesterday and kept us informed of what was happening and stayed with my mum until we could get to the hospital. When I arrived at the hospital, the carer was there and had stayed with my mum keeping her spirits up. We were very grateful for their professionalism and care throughout the day, which was excellent.
Home Instead is the fourth emergency service for our family. When we were plunged into life-changing circumstances, the team helped pick up the pieces and shape a new life for Mum. They have given her independence and dignity, companionship and friendly faces, as well as kindness and care. The team are enabling Mum to stay in her home and to have a routine, which is important to her overall wellbeing. That routine includes everything from preparing meals and sorting out washing, to taking Mum to a local centre. The office office team really listen, they tweak the care plan when it needs tweaking and match the right sort of carers to Mum. We quickly realised that top-notch care doesn't exist without empathy - and the Home Instead team have this in spades; the team don't just turn up, the carers are really present. They take the initiative to sort out or anticipate problems. Home Instead means our family can function.
Home Instead do a wonderful job of looking after Mum. Without exception, the caregivers are kind and caring, building strong and trusting relationships with Mum. As well as preparing meals and carrying out tasks in the house, the caregivers take Mum out on short walks or to the local cafe which she really enjoys. Nothing is too much trouble. With the help of Home Instead, Mum is able to stay in her familiar surroundings, enjoying a healthy and happy routine. Office staff are responsive and work hard to ensure everything runs smoothly. From the start, management took the time to understand Mum's needs, providing invaluable advice and even arranging additional last minute care at short notice, when the need arose. I recommend Home Instead to anyone requiring a personalised, understanding and caring service.
Home Instead have provided essential help to my mother and to myself in very difficult times. The carers have been lovely and Mum views them as her friends. They visit her regularly in the care home and give her much-appreciated personal attention. Management has been extremely supportive and have gone to extra lengths to accommodate a very stressful family situation.
I am absolutely delighted with the care my father receives from Home Instead. All staff, office and caregivers are fantastic. I feel that they really care about Dad, and they are making such a difference in his life and well-being - and also in my life too, as I previously felt so alone in my caring role. Dad looks forward to his caregivers coming and really appreciates them. I highly recommend them without a second's hesitation, and I can't imagine how we would manage without them. The best advice is to get caregivers in before you need them - that way, when things reach a crisis point, they are already in place.
Professionalism and compassion at every step of the way from attending Vulnerable Adult Risk Management meetings, coordinating Day Centre visits and liaising with Adult Care to ensure my Mum adjusted to the new layout or her home when she returned from hospital. I can’t recommend Home Instead enough.
The team at Home Instead offers a thoroughly professional, reliable and caring service. Entrusting the care of my dad to an independent agency was a difficult and extremely emotional decision for the family, after looking after him personally for over six months, during a time of significantly declining health. My sister and I were exhausted, confused and in desperate need of support ourselves! Dad has benefitted greatly from having new people around him, bringing different interests and experiences into the conversations. The carers are organised and experienced in delivering the right level of support, without taking control so that my dad can still feel independent within his own home and comfortable with the service he receives. Without a doubt, Home Instead has extended my dad's life and given the family some 'normal life' back. We can't thank them enough.
