View Full Details of Westwood Care and Support Services Yorkshire LtdWestwood care were particularly good over the Christmas period which I know can be difficult with staff holidays etc my sister and myself for the first time in a lot of years was able to relax amd have some family time without worrying that mum would be looked after.
Terrible, unreliable and uncaring. My true experience of this company is don't use them. They have made my life a misery. Hygiene very poor. Contracted food poisoning, most of the staff cannot cook and have to rely on micro meals or sandwiches. Staff never turn up on time, had a couple of falls due to neglect. Brochure states that they take complaints seriously and welcome them in order to better their service. They do not take complaints seriously, management allows a situation to get worse, neglects responsibility and if you do make a complaint nothing is followed up. They do not like complaints and quickly hand in your package. I have to question whether this care provider should be allowed to provide care. The write up sounds great, that is what appealed but it is far from the truth. Under their care my health became worse and instead of correcting my care package to make my life better, they handed it in. Please be wary when considering this company. This is a true account, please be warned.
My wife came out of hospital in February this year after a 6 month period being hospitalised and needed substantial care and support. Westwood Care provided this as soon as she came home with 2 carers visiting 4 times a day. They assisted her with all basic tasks as initially she was virtually bedridden and could do very little for herself. Gradually over a period of time, she started to improve and was able to do more but at all times her carers was on hand to assist and encourage her. Her health and mobility has now improved so much that we no longer need their assistance, but without their professionalism and caring nature of them she would not have made such a good recovery. A word of thanks to the Admin staff for dealing promptly with any problems that arose and quickly sorted out. Therefore a very big thank you to all at Westwood Care.
I find my carers very helpful, caring and always willing to go the extra mile to help.
Some carers excellent, some poor.
Mum has been receiving visits from Westwood Care in her home since February 2024. Twice daily, seven days a week. These visits have had a very positive effect on her well-being, she is much calmer and happy. They have provided her with discrete personal care, along with friendly chats, making a drink or helping with snacks.
Caring for someone with dementia is not easy and often it's just bad news. I would like to thank the Westwood team for responding to my mum's changing needs. Recently the team organised extra carers at short notice and for equipment to help with lifting. These actions have given my mum a new lease of life. Thank you.
Very professional, loving, and very caring, nothing is ever too much. All the staff that my Mother-in-law has had have been amazing. Without their help and support my family would have struggled even more.
Management truly expertly on point and supportive and unsurpassable and all care staff who support my wife are again unsurpassable, always keeping her safe and respectful and all care staff ticking every box when it comes to protective and high-level care and understanding of stroke disability. All staff who come to our home are trusted because they are truly highly worthy. All of the management staff at Westwood are of a high level and oversee the smooth running of the care staff and client welfare, they are truly a credit, highly so, to Westwood Care and Support Services, they tick every box and all their staff who care for my wife do too.
A perfect service for my elderly Mother, Westwood Care is a very professional and very caring organization. The carers are all lovely with my Mum and do everything she asks of them, ensuring she has eaten her breakfast, they even prepare and cook her evening meal, they also prepare all her medication for the week ahead and make sure she takes it. All in all a fantastic service, they are always on time and extremely pleasant even though the carers all cycle up the hill to Mums, we would not hesitate to recommend Westwood care to any friends and family members, well done ladies.
Observed an excellent relationship with my elderly mother, she was clearly at ease with carers who displayed kindness and empathy. There appears to be good continuity with carers which I've heard all about, living abroad is always a concern, and being in attendance during visits last week put my mind at rest. Kindest regards.
I would like to say how caring and helpful the staff are towards my Mother. She is very happy with how everyone treats her with respect. They are always willing to do anything to help her. Thank you very much.
Mum has been a client of 'Westwood Care and Support Services Yorkshire Ltd' for over a year and a half now and throughout that time we have found their support invaluable. They have always been very helpful and understanding when Mum has had additional needs or 'emergencies' and we are extremely grateful for the way in which they have come to our aid on these occasions, sometimes at very short notice. This has made an enormous difference, not only for Mum but for the whole family. Initially, we contacted this company just to arrange care visits for Mum, however, due to our trust and confidence in the management and staff, we now also use some of their other services, such as domestic help and accompanied outings. We are also planning to manage Mum's medication needs through Westwood as well and I feel confident that they will carry out this additional responsibility with the same care and professionalism that they have shown throughout. Many thanks to all the staff.
Mum is delighted with the care delivered by Westwood as am I. All of the carers are thoughtful, friendly and meticulous in fulfilling all of the tasks that are part of the care package for my mum. For our family it's an essential service - we know that a warm and friendly face is attending to Mum every day to complement the many friends and family visiting as often as they can. Big thanks to the whole team at Westwood.
The care given is unsurpassable and the Westwood Care team all around are supportive and respectful and truly more. They give me a life and more. We feel safe and listened to by all care staff and kindness and truly feel understood and human kindness, and professional care from all staff. Best care I have ever had since my stroke so feel more able and do so much more with Westwood Care provider. My husband and I must give our true respectful thanks to the outstanding service of Westwood Care provider service team. All their care staff always go all out unsurprisingly to be professional, supporting, caring on point and much more, making myself able to cope and in everyday life. The extra care we have now is to us both a godsend. We both feel more able to live life because of the excellent care of all Westwood staff, mentally and physically. Also in everyday life, truly massive gratefulness and respect. Thanks from my heart, our honest feelings and thoughts.
I find the care very good indeed, my brother is being looked after by a great group of people. The only fault I find is that some new staff do not comply with the notes I leave referencing cleaning and sorting food etc. But apart from that everything is fab.
We have a morning visit all the carers are so helpful and assist my aunt with all her morning needs without this assistance she would be in a caring home If we require a change of visit time this is handled really well.
After losing Dad last year we sought help from Westwood Care and Support Services Yorkshire Ltd. Dad had been Mum’s main carer and things in the household had really deteriorated. We now have the assurance of someone checking in on Mum every morning and assisting her as required. She’s very resistant to help and hard to please but the carers are patient and kind. Their daily visit makes a huge difference and gives me reassurance. They are very good at letting me know if there’s anything of concern. The initial introductory visit helped Westwood to understand Mum’s needs and was very respectful and professional. The carers leave a daily report which is really useful for me as Mum’s recollections may vary!
The carers that visit my mum are pleasant and friendly and treat Mum with respect. They do their work mostly without any issues but on the odd occasion when there has been a problem (eg Mum's remote for the TV stopped working) the caregiver rang me and following a short conversation was able to find the battery tin and change the batteries. I believe all the carers that visit my mum now know her well and would be able to tell if she was unwell, or not herself and hopefully ring me. All visits are documented in a file at my Mum's.
The care and work undertaken for my mum is of a good standard, they do suffer from timing issues sometimes, the care call for my mum is for a lunchtime to prepare her a hot meal and sometimes they simply arrive too early (11:00am) which is not suitable.
