View Full Details of Sylvan Home Care ServicesCarers from Sylvan Home Care have been supporting my mother since April. She's 93 and very keen to maintain her independence and stay in her own home but health problems and some memory loss that mean she can't do this without help. Although she was initially very unsure about the arrangement, she now loves the visits (morning and evening) and the carers have improved her daily life in so many ways. On top of all the practical support, they take time to chat with her and, as she repeatedly says, never make her feel helpless or inadequate. Living at a distance from Mum, it is a huge comfort knowing that she has such kind, friendly and professional care.
The carers are very good and do their best to fulfil their important tasks. They are very pleasant people, as well as careful in their work. They are keen to go at the client's pace and not rush through their work.
I am overall satisfied with the service that Sylvan provided and find the staff very helpful and flexible with my needs.
Just a small note to say a massive thank you to Sylvan Home Care who look after my mother on a daily basis. A fantastic and professional group of carers. It is difficult to convey the amount of gratitude in words, and so to show how much appreciation for all that you do for my mother and the elderly people that you so professionally care for, my company will be working alongside Sylvan this Christmas. My company will be providing, free of charge, Christmas lunch and pudding to elderly Sylvan clients who are unable to prepare a Christmas dinner for themselves or who may be alone this Christmas. We will provide a home-cooked Christmas dinner and pudding and deliver the dinners on Christmas morning in time for lunch. This is a humble gesture of goodwill and gratitude for everything that Sylvan do for the vulnerable and elderly community. Massive respect to you all!
The dedicated team at Sylvan provided wonderful care and attention for my very elderly mother. They kept in touch with me and promptly alerted me to any concerns they had concerning mum. Mum’s health was very poor and as she opted to stay at home rather than go into a care home, I was understandably concerned at first. However, the staff at Sylvan allayed all my fears and consistently provided a very high level of service. Their friendly staff not only ensured Mum’s welfare but also raised her spirits, despite all her difficulties. She had many a laugh with them and enjoyed their company, I have no hesitation recommending Sylvan Care: they go that ‘extra mile’ and provide a first-class service. A big thank you to all at Sylvan.
Sylvan's team helped to look after my Dad at home (where he wanted to be) from early 2019 until February 2020. They were, without exception, absolutely brilliant. Most importantly they treated Dad as a friend or relative who needed their very professional help. They gave him praise when he deserved it (some Scones he cooked with one of the Team would have impressed Mary Berry). They did their absolute best to encourage Dad to eat and drink well and he loved their regular visits to his home (despite having previously been inclined to be a bit of a recluse). When there were problems (once with a chest infection and most recently with a second stroke) they moved very quickly in absolutely the right manner. They were really caring in their approach. It has left me with some lasting and extremely positive memories. Dad has now moved to a local Care/Residential Home and their team, who are clearly themselves well respected, have quite an act to follow. My thanks to the whole Sylvan Team.
As I live a four hour drive away from Dad I have wanted someone to call in to see Dad in his home for over a year. Dad has always refused to consider care of any sort being staunchly independent and in his 90's. I arranged for this carer to come to see Dad and see if she could persuade him where I had failed. We all had a cup of tea together and a chat about what Dad wanted. Then with her power of persuasion, she had Dad in the bathroom, washed and dressed, chatting like they were old friends. The sense of relief that Dad's introduction to having care at home went so well was huge. I knew the carer's visits would be welcomed by both of us and in the first three days she has kept me up to date.
Sylvan Home Care Services are an excellent care provider within our experience with caring and dedicated staff. They show genuine concern for their patients a provide a very good level of service. In our experience they were always reliable and always fed back concerns or information to ourselves that would help with Grandad's care.
The carers were all very kind to Mum and often went out of their way to help her. They would ring me if she was out wandering and on one occasion they actually took her home when she was at a bus stop. The staff in the office were helpful and supportive and were happy for me to call in for a chat.
Sylvan Home Care Services was able to provide evening calls at short notice in the Eastham area to my father-in-law. Although only used for a short while the initial assessment was very professional and all carers arrived on time.
I am quite happy with the agency and will not change. It is efficiently run by the manager who gets on with everybody. All the carers that come are very good, cannot fault them. They are nice girls.
I find the carers do as much as they can to assist me in my needs. They are very helpful, reliable and are friendly, even when I don't need anything doing, they will stay and chat to me, especially when I am on my own, as my partner does voluntary work twice a week and without the carers coming in she would not be able to do this.
I find the company/management approachable and professional. They make all attempts at accommodating my father's requirements. My father is quite satisfied with his care team.
My father is living at home with carers going in twice a day. We have found the carers to be very friendly and understanding towards to his care and daily needs. They keep you well informed of any problems and always come up with solutions to any problems that we have to face.
