On the whole, I find the care very good. I would, however, like the morning medication put out overnight because the carers often do not arrive until 10.30am which is very late for breakfast as I have lunch at 12.30pm. It is good to have my back washed and creamed in the morning and creamed again at night, at about 9.00 pm. Sometimes the carer comes at 8 or 8.30 which is a bit early. Carer found bath tricky to operate.
My mother (who was suffering from cancer and sadly passed away a few months ago) received excellent care from the care workers at this agency. They all took great care to respect her dignity and were very professional, friendly and approachable throughout - this was much appreciated at such a difficult time.
After my first experience of care companies, I have now found one that really cares for me.
The help I received was very good. Carers are very understanding.
My mother has received wonderful care since the agency began in November 2014. This enabled her to stay in her own home in spite of limited mobility, poor health and with no nearby relatives. She formed close relationships with the carers who were amazing at understanding and respecting and responding to her needs with great compassion and good humour. She was always confident that a warm, caring and competent carer would attend to her. They were able to provide additional care or assistance to appointments if necessary. The excellent communication, support and care was greatly appreciated by the whole family. Sadly, a deterioration in her condition has recently forced her to move to a home with full-time nursing care. Whilst she is being well cared for, she misses her previous carers and says, 'there's no place like home.'
All my carers are very supportive and caring.
My experience has been very satisfactory. The staff are friendly, considerate, helpful and competent. A member of staff is usually scheduled to come to me in between 7 and 7:30 am to ensure I am alright and to help me with having a shower, their visit is particularly appreciated by my daughter as at this time of day she is heavily committed to her large child-minding business. I do too especially appreciate being able to have an early morning chat with one of my carers, particularly if I have and small worries or concerns.
Very good service, staff very nice too. Been using Select Homecare since they started, I have also recommended them to other people who I know are very happy with the service.
All carers are fantastic to me and look after me. They make sure I have taken my tablets and help shower and dress me for the day. I have no complaints and know I could find life difficult without them.
I am my wife's carer and have found the support provided to be a real blessing. However, the quality of care has, at times, been a little variable and at times my wife has not been too sure with the relationship. Some carers would receive a high rating for the care, sensitivity and interpersonal skills shown towards my wife whilst some carers interpersonal skills need further development. Generally my wife and I have found the overall standard of care satisfactory.
