View Full Details of Right at Home (Basingstoke & District)When my 81-year-old husband was discharged from hospital on Christmas Eve, he was extremely weak and I found it difficult to care for him. On recommendation, I contacted Right at Home. Their ethos is very different in that they aim to rehabilitate their clients to the point they are no longer needed. My husband has regained his strength faster than expected so I have now cancelled my contract. During our time with them, managers and carer/supporters have been exceptional. Efficient yet friendly and understanding. I don't hesitate to recommend them.
Right at Home helped my father (in his mid-90s) with two visits a week for the last 18 months or so of his life, during which he remained largely self-sufficient, needing greater assistance only in the last three months. He had the same carer 90% of the time but was always well looked after, mainly with cleaning, bed making, fresh meal preparation, foot baths and some welcome chat. He appreciated his visits but his family probably appreciated them more, knowing that he had important and valued attention when family members could not be in attendance full-time. It was a good partnership with the company and I would recommend Right at Home to anyone needing care assistance.

This care agency has helped me become more independent. My carers have gone above and beyond with the support they provide. I am no longer alone and I am now able to get out and about with their help. They have not just saved my life, they have given meaning to my life. I would highly recommend them to anyone that needs caring, support and understanding.
My wife (with dementia) and I didn't want the initial visit as we are private people but dementia progress meant we had to find help with care in the home. The care organiser visit was very reassuring and she assessed our needs carefully and thoughtfully, identifying a good carer from her team. Carer’s first visit was successful despite not being wanted – carer was instantly attentive, empathic and fully listening. It was wonderful to see. Visits, twice a week, were then looked forward to and I could leave her while doing chores. Relationship developed into a good one all round and was a great relief that there was a clear way forward with Right at Home. I could share worries about the appalling future of dementia, and see how to do things with competent, good empathic people, accessing real help in any way. Care team also attended hospital, where broken hip revision trauma caused my wife’s early death. The love and help from them was truly a boost to me and daughter. An excellent company.
The support and care that my mum has received in the last 3 years has been outstanding. She has dementia, which has been slowly progressing. The carers and office team know her so well, and their care plan enriches her daily life. From trips out for lunch, home-cooked meals to a warmed nighty, she feels safe and well cared for in her own home. The team have also supported us through emergency situations, including a fall at home. The Older people's mental health team commented on how Mum's care package was very good, and that she had everything necessary to stay in her own home. I live a 3-hour drive away, so having such good care in place for my mum is a real reassurance. I often tell people that the care that she receives is like being cared for by friends. I can't thank the care team enough for their support and for allowing my mum to stay safe and cared for in her own home.
During the period of helping me to look after my wife who suffered from Alzheimer's, Right at Home provided an excellent service. The staff were very helpful with all the tasks that were required and a great deal of care and attention was given to make my wife comfortable and relaxed. I have recommended Right at Home to a number of friends who were also very satisfied. I would highly recommend Right at Home as the best in the area, without a doubt.
When going through the process of choosing a home care provider, our decision was heavily influenced by comments from local medical professionals we were dealing with (e.g. doctors, district nurses, paramedics), all of whom spoke very highly of Right At Home when we mentioned various companies we were considering. We are more than happy that we followed their advice. Initially, my mum, a very stubborn and independent 90-year-old, did not feel she needed carers (she did) but now she wants to know which carers will be coming each day and happily talks about the relationship she has with them. In addition, apart from the care being provided, we are also very happy with the response from management to any issues that arise. We would have no reservations in recommending Right At Home to anyone looking for a care provider.
We think that we are very lucky to have found Right at Home. Our friend (their client) is reasonably physically fit but has dementia and is incapable of looking after herself. She also has no friends or family anywhere close to where she lives. Not only are the carers from Right at Home kind, thoughtful and caring, they deal with the inevitable day-to-day domestic and medical crises in a way that, ideally, family members would. Everything from failed appliances to dentistry gets sorted out. Before dementia took over, our friend made us promise to keep her in her own home as long as possible. This would have been impossible without the level of care Right at Home provides. Instead, she would not only be in residential care but geographically displaced. Over the years, the people at Right at Home have become her family providing what age, health and geography would otherwise make impossible.
My mum has complex healthcare needs. The team of carers that are looking after her are absolutely amazing! They care for her like it's their own mum they are looking after. They respect her dignity at all times and are passionate about what they do. Having briefly experienced 3 other care agencies I would definitely highly recommend this one.
All the carers who come to see me are all very good. They help me with the things I can't do and are really friendly.
My husband had a major stroke in November 2021 he was in hospital till March 2022 on his arrival home Right At Home came in to supply care. I have nothing but very high praise for the Manager and all her team we have had first-class care from Right at Home. Communication is absolutely the best, I could not pick out one particular carer that has come to care for my husband because they have all been magnificent. The Manager has supported me and my husband to the highest standard possible. Now the time has come that my husband and I and our sons, can manage on our own. Without the carers from Right At Home and the Manager herself this would not have been possible without their dedicated help and support.
The help both my mother and I received has been incredible as this has been a very difficult time. Although my mother was still a worry the support I received helped greatly, particularly by providing me with daily updates of her care. My mother greatly enjoyed the company of all of the carers who visited and they certainly have made her life a little easier. Thank you.
Right from the start the company has really listened to our needs and put in place the best package they could offer. Our family situation was in crisis and Right at Home did their best to be supportive to both parents and me as a primary carer living 150 miles away and having to give up work for a while. They offered all of us affection and humour and were so patient with my parents and their quirky ways. They listened to what my mum wanted each day and fitted in jobs/comfort balls accordingly. I can only feel heartfelt thanks.
An efficiently run company. Carers are reliable, capable and caring. The number of carers was limited to very few, which enabled me next of kin to get to know and trust them. The office staff were always polite and very helpful. Would have no hesitation in using this care agency again.
Right at Home provided support visits for my mum for about six months. Throughout this time they never missed a visit. Over that time, four different carers assisted my mum, all of whom struck up an excellent rapport with Mum adapting to Mum’s needs given Mum’s shy nature and the fact that Mum suffers from dementia, always providing a visit that would cheer Mum up as well as doing housework and keeping an eye on Mum’s general health including one time taking a urine sample and arranging for it to be taken to Mum’s doctor when they suspected Mum may have a UTI. Whenever I visited Mum when Right at Home was there they always asked if they were providing the service I was looking for and looking for feedback which I appreciated, always cheery and always lovely dispositions, appreciating what Mum responded best to. The reliability of service and the consistently high level of care, monitoring Mum’s wellbeing and as her dementia got worse, making sure she would eat and drink, preparing tea for her.
The end of life care Dad received was excellent. They were caring, compassionate, friendly and did their best for him at all times. Thank you so much, we don't know what we would have done without you in the last few weeks of his life.
From the very first day that we were introduced to our own team, we were very impressed. Most importantly they were professional and kind and made my partner laugh. They were also kind to me at a time when I was in need of it.
The Right At Home team cared for both my father and mother over many years. They looked after my father who had dementia, with great gentleness and consideration for his dignity. They were there for us when he died suddenly at home. They provided care, companionship, and genuine friendship for my mother during her bereavement and isolation of lockdown. Always an independent lady, the team did everything they could to respect her and support her to stay in control even when she became increasingly frail. Because the managers kept my mother's team small she built strong trusting relationships. Then, in the last few weeks of my mother's life, while we cared for her at home, the team's tenderness towards her was exceptional. They went above and beyond doing whatever was needed to make her comfortable, holding her hand, beside her at night. The kindness of the whole team - including the office team - and their support for us as a family in those final weeks of her life was beyond exceptional. What those women did for my mother - and for me as her daughter - is something I shall never forget.
Right at Home (Basingstoke & District) has looked after my Mum for several years. She only has two hours of care each week but it is invaluable to her quality of life. She is helped with showering, hair washing, hair drying, cleaning the bathroom and chatting too! Mum loves to have company and this helps with her mental stimulation and she looks forward to the days the carers come in so she has other people to talk to. The carers are so enthusiastic, caring and nothing is too much trouble. I highly recommend the team at Right at Home (Basingstoke & District). Many thanks.
