View Full Details of Home Instead (Bedford)Home Instead matches my expectations of what a care agency should be. Carers and office staff always kind and helpful.
Home Instead makes me feel happy and secure in my own home. It enables me to live in a clean and tidy house. It helps me with shopping, it gives me companionship and someone who understands my needs and all is delivered with care and a smile. It helps look after my personal care. It makes a real difference to my day-to-day living. I did not realise how excellent the care would be. Thank you Home Instead.
We changed from another company and got more flexibility and you listened to our needs. The staff go above and beyond taking him out etc. I have to mention the carer who goes above and beyond and is a great asset to the company. Thank you for giving the well-needed break to my mother-in-law. Would highly recommend you to others needing care and assistance
My Father has been looked after by Home Instead for over eight months and in all that time we have been delighted with the professional and caring nature of all the staff involved. The staff all go the extra mile to make my father feel comfortable and enjoy sharing a laugh and joke with him. They take a real pride in their work and enjoy their caring role. It has taken a weight off my shoulders knowing that he is in such safe and kind hands.
Home Instead have been caring for Mum for about a year now, after a bad experience with a different care company. They really get the best out of her and allocate carers with a similar sense of humour. Nothing is too much trouble. Communication is excellent both ways and Mum's care plan is constantly updated. I would highly recommend it.
I can honestly say that all the staff from the office, who I email and organise my father’s care, to the lovely ladies who look after him have been fabulous. Everyone is so kind and caring and I find myself not worrying all the time as I know he is being very well looked after. I would 100% recommend Home Instead as they are very professional and give a lot of thought to the care they provide.
I cannot recommend Home Instead enough! The manager has been amazing. My son now has a PA working with him and is getting on so well, it has changed his life. He has more confidence and enjoying doing activities.
I cannot recommend Home Instead enough! They looked after my uncle for quite a while and they changed his life and mine! He had dementia and was struggling with cooking and with medication. The moment the caregiver entered his house I knew he was in very safe hands and would be looked after when I couldn't. One lady entered his house and a bond grew straightaway and even when he finally had to go into a care home, I carried on having her visit as he asked for her all the time. She became 1 of the family and she could always get him to do things, such as bath, where others failed, including myself. All staff in the office are very supportive too when you are struggling and always have advice for me. If anyone is looking for care for their loved one, or you are looking for yourself, then this is the company you need in your life. Outstanding.
From my first contact with Home Instead (Bedford) the experience has been extremely positive. A meeting was set up the next day and we were very impressed by the professionalism, thoughtfulness and caring nature of the Head of Client Experience. She immediately put a daily care plan in place for our mother in two days, and the experience has continued to be excellent. Our mother has found the carers to be kind, gentle and thoughtful, introducing her to personal care regimes gently and with patience. The organisation has responded immediately to requests for changes to small details and additional visits, and there is always someone on the end of the phone to talk to. I cannot think of any way in which the service could be improved and am very relieved that our mother is in such good hands.
I changed Dad’s care provider to Home Instead (Bedford) in May 2023 following an inconsistent/stressful 6 months elsewhere. Whilst it is early days (6 weeks so far), Home Instead have exceeded my expectations; Dad receives the full hour twice a day that he pays for, all interactions with care givers and office colleagues has been positive and helpful, the billing is clear and on time, anything that has been agreed to has been carried out, the care is consistent even if a carer is on holiday, the carers do not only serve ready meals! I personally feel the care system could learn at lot from Home Instead. My only concern would be if earlier mornings or later evening visits were required, however, this is not an issue for us at the moment and I believe this is difficult across the sector. Since moving to Home Instead weight has been lifted from my shoulders, I have much more confidence that Dad is being given the care he deserves. Thank you
I cannot recommend this care company highly enough. From management to carers their standards are very high. On a particularly bad day, both of my carers showed empathy, understanding and kindness, taking the time to listen to me and not start “doing” my care immediately. By the end of their visit, not only was I made comfortable, I felt relaxed, listened to and cared for in a kindly but wholly professional way. Needless to say, there was also a lot of laughter too. I have been blessed with the carers I have and this experience highlighted the main reasons for choosing Home Instead (Bedford) as my care provider.
I arrived from Australia mid July to find my mother in hospital after a fall (in no way related to his care). Once out and home I was around to observe the care she was getting from 2 different carers. I found both the carers to be delightful. Helpful, considerate and great company for my mother. On a separate issue, I would like to thank the whole team for accommodating our changing requirement whilst I was visiting and able to do some of the work.
Mum used the services of Home Instead Bedford from February to August this year and I can’t rate them highly enough. She initially had a one hour visit five days a week from the lovely who acted mainly as a companion to begin with but as her care needs progressed Home Instead were able to increase the care level as required whilst managing keep to the same care givers and always ensuring that mum was happy with the person visiting. The use of an app to report on mum’s visits was very reassuring and the office staff were, without exception, extremely pleasant and helpful despite me having to ring to rearrange appointments at short notice due to several hospital admissions. I have no hesitation in recommending them and will definitely call on their services should mum need care in the future.
I look forward to my carer arriving as we always have a laugh about something silly. It's nice to talk like a friend. I recommend it. They are always friendly and nice to talk to and always do any jobs I want doing. I would recommend them to all.
Home Instead helped us with a range of in-house services for our ailing mother, who opted to stay at home, and our father, who resided in assisted living. Home Instead was always willing to help, available and affordable. They replied to requests promptly, provided high-quality service and invoiced accurately. The Home Instead staff were warm, friendly and respectful and our parents very much appreciated their help and companionship. Highly recommend.
The caregivers that looked after my husband were all very kind, friendly, efficient and hardworking. My husband particularly liked the relaxed atmosphere and banter. They were all concerned for my welfare as well and helped me with any tasks I asked. The visits always ended with a friendly chat. The family are all satisfied and appreciative of the care and support during our time at Home instead Bedford.
As a family, we have been very grateful for the support of Home Instead - both admin staff and caregivers. From the start, they were thorough in assessing Dad’s needs and preferences. The team of caregivers, though different in character, each developed a comfortable relationship with Dad and he looked forward to their visits. One person even learnt to play chess so they could give Dad a game. The wide range of support was very helpful – companionship, walks, meals, cleaning, medication, personal care and appointments. We really liked getting an insight into Dad’s day from the online visit reports (many were very informative though occasionally some were rather brief). As Dad’s dementia progressed, the staff in the office were always ready to talk through any new issues that arose and to make changes to his care. Thank you for helping us to adapt to the constantly changing challenges and for enabling our dad to live in his own home for longer than would otherwise have been possible.
I came out of hospital very weak and unable to do all the normal things to look after myself. My caregiver came 3 times a day to start with. She has helped me regain my strength and confidence. She has always treated me as an equal so it's a good, strong relationship. I would recommend Home Instead without hesitation.
Very satisfied, friendly service.
My aunt was only a client with Home Instead for 6 months. From the day of the assessment late last year, there was so much thought in getting the right fit caregiver for my Aunt. Like many elderly people, she was fiercely independent, wanting no one doing her personal care or invading her personal space. She had been needing help for a very long time, so it was a triumph getting to this stage. She had one caregiver, who read my Aunt very well, she was gentle and listened to my aunt's stories. This was exactly what we needed as she had become so lonely and isolated, being near deaf and with dementia, she needed a friend, another person to watch over her, allowing her to feel wanted and still a person, peace of mind for the family. We were about to introduce another caregiver, to give a bit of variety, but unfortunately, my Aunt became unwell, Home Instead listened and helped where they could to make her last weeks at home safe and dignified. The introduction of the care app was invaluable.
