View Full Details of Home Instead (Cheltenham & Cotswolds)I've been a client with Cheltenham Home Instead for around 6 months now and there is only one word to describe my carers ' Excellent'. They are kind and have a great sense of humour, nothing is too much trouble. They all come in with a smile it's a pleasure to have them visit.
Booking is never so easy. The cancellation window of 2 weeks is probably too short. Carers are very good but sometimes the quality of cleaning isn't the highest. Other care is usually excellent.
Some staff are excellent. Some are rather lazy. Do not like having so many new people.
We couldn't be more pleased with the care given to our family members by Home Instead. We've had some difficulties with changes in the level of care needed, hospital stays etc and everyone involved has been very accommodating. Due to distances, it's hard for the family to visit often enough for our parents' needs but we know they're in good hands. We very much appreciate the level of care and communication from the manager, which have both been outstanding.
The whole family appreciates the care and attention provided for Mum by the ladies from Home Instead. They have been visiting twice a week for two years ever since Mum started with slight dementia, difficulties walking and caring for herself. The day always starts off with laughter and Mum and Dad look forward to their visits. All are smart, reliable, caring and competent, and what is very important is that they are good fun. They are also quick to spot anything that might need checking by the district nurse. We are grateful for their efficiency and their cheerful attitude.
It is so nice to have a real meal traditionally cooked and tasting as it should. The staff knew what they were about and quickly found where everything was and had no problems making a meal. They had no problems with a strange kitchen and the equipment in it. Overall, an excellent start to the beginning of the relationship.
The carers could not have been better. Always trying to do their very best. Sharp and to the point!
Having suffered from Parkinson’s for several years, I had a spell at Christmas 2023 of respite care. As I live on my own, returning home was a move I couldn’t have made without the provision of care provided by Home Instead. Daily visits by their caregivers have subsequently made it possible to live and thrive in my own home.
The carers are very professional and friendly. I find it difficult to cope with blanks on my schedule and not knowing who will be helping me on that morning, especially when two arrive instead of the person I was expecting without notice.
Overall I am very happy with the service Home Instead provide. All of the carers/managers are lovely and do an excellent job. Occasionally, this does not work out but I think this is down to the carer and what they want to do. If you have had issues with carers before it might be helpful to let the client know and the reasons so all parties are aware and something could be put in place to reduce stress. Better communication is vital so all parties are clear about the rules and boundaries expected in the home.
A very professional service who I highly recommend. Staff are caring and helpful. You feel your loved ones are in safe hands. The rota can be flexible for care so last minute changes are not a problem. Staff are well presented and understand individual needs.
All carers are experienced, professional and friendly, and carry out their duties with the minimum of fuss in a timely manner. Over the last 12 months, I have seen many different carers and they have all been of a high standard.
We were lucky enough to find Home Instead by pure chance when my mother suddenly needed full-time care, as a result of her dementia. Home Instead have been caring for my mother for nearly two years and in those two years the care has been exemplary. We have met some exceptional people who have cared for my mother beautifully. They have sung to her, played musical instruments, read to her, got responses from her that we, as her family, have not always been able to achieve, painted her nails and done her hair. We have had consistent carers whose tenderness in their care and attention have taken our breath away. I really cannot recommend Home Instead highly enough.
I was in a very low condition when I first met the two Home Instead (Cheltenham & Cotswolds) carers. Since their help with washing, physio exercises and many other ways. To have my bed made is joy. My whole body does respond. My two carers are likes friends, are always helpful and encouraging and I am pleased to have them in my house. Next birthday I will be 93 and I look forward to many more turns thanks to Home Instead
Mum needed help to ensure she is eating 3 meals a day and also help with showering. She has developed a very good relationship with her main carer who really goes above and beyond to ensure Mother eats and that her house is kept beautifully clean and tidy. This continuity of care is so important.
The caregivers who work for this company are outstanding and go the extra mile even to the detriment of themselves. The management has a problem communicating with each other and is even worse with the client. When changes occur which is inevitable they are not passed to the caregiver or client. A lot of office changes have occurred in the last year to address issues raised. The changes have had no effect as they didn’t address the route cause of the problem, accepting you have a problem and putting measures in place to improve the situation. Their slogan to us 'it’s personal' takes on a whole new meaning as they take positive criticism personally.
Almost without exception, carers were matched to my wife by age, temperament and interests. She found them congenial temporary companions but not requiring personal care.
Excellent service from management and carers from start to finish. Professional, helpful, flexible and caring. Nothing was too much trouble. They always put the welfare of my aunt first. Happy to recommend their service.
My care started in 2018 when I was discharged from a long period in hospital. I was in a poor state and had eating difficulties, had lost a lot of weight. Within a short time, I began to recover due to the excellent care of Home Instead and my amazing children. Home cooked food of my choice was a big part of this. Since then I have lived a better life with the help I have received, even through the COVID nightmare. I am grateful for all the love and care which has been given to me and I hope to continue in comfort for days to come.
I cannot have a bath on my own and my wife is unable to help for health reasons. I have found the two caregivers excellent, very kind, gentle and caring. Nothing is too much trouble and I look forward to Tuesday mornings.
