View Full Details of Home Instead (East Dorset & Blandford)My husband and I are the only relatives available to support our elderly relative who lives in Dorset and we live in Yorkshire! The support from Home Instead has kept us sane! The care and constancy of the carers meant that Auntie could stay in her much-loved home for two more years after the death of her husband. The support and friendship for Auntie have been exemplary - and the staff have been marvellous in their liaison with ourselves so that together we could ensure health and happiness. More recently, continuing guidance and support has made the necessary transition to a Care Home worry-free. Brilliant! Thank you!
The care provided by the Home Instead carers was of a very high quality. I was really happy with their professionalism, the relationships they developed with my mother, and the activities they suggested for her. They were well able to manage the challenges her Alzheimer's presented, while still supporting her to live as independently as possible, and to make sure that she enjoyed life. The office staff were friendly and helpful, and all of them seemed to know my mum. Any problems we encountered were handled quickly and professionally.
The Home Instead team are reliable, friendly, and caring, always putting the best interests of their client first. They commit time and energy to getting to know the client personally and strive to make their lives as comfortable, safe and happy as possible. Several of the team are outstanding in the care they provide. No task is too large, or too small, and many jobs are done without asking, as a family would. For us, they have also called paramedics, and waited with Mum until they arrived, well beyond their scheduled time. The office works tirelessly to coordinate care with other local agencies, including hospitals, as needed. As they have been caring for my Mum, I feel they have also cared for me. I live overseas, and they do not hesitate to reassure and support me as I share concerns or questions. They maintain as small and regular a team as possible for Mum, and their electronic system for sharing notes and information from every visit is outstanding. Thanks is too short a word!
I am so grateful to Home Instead for their excellent service to my mother. They have been supporting her for nearly five years, and we cannot speak highly enough of the quality of their staff, the leadership and management, and the professionalism of their service. The team of carers became a part of the family and brightened up my mother's day every time they visited. They have been 100% trustworthy and reliable. I am particularly grateful for their loving care in the last few months of my mother's life when they all went the extra mile to make her feel valued and meet her needs. I have no hesitation in recommending them to others.
The care my mum received was of the highest order. Empathetic. Sympathetic. Tender and sensitive. All through our time with Home Instead she was always treated with great respect and kindness. I was always able to get extra help when I was needed elsewhere. In her last few days on palliative care, the emotional support I got from her key carers was crucial to me getting through the toughest time of my life. I couldn't have gotten through it without them.
A particular member of staff provided companionship and care for my mother-in-law over several months. My mother-in-law loved her visits and could not speak highly enough of her. From first contact to the care provided this company was professional and caring, I thoroughly recommend them.
I just want to thank Home Instead for all the help you have given me firstly with Mum who had dementia and then my dad. You all stepped up when I was having a meltdown and put carers in place so quickly. Dad liked all the carers and enjoyed his trips to the local cafes. He did miss Mum terribly but you helped just by chatting things through with him.
The team from Home Instead (East Dorset & Blandford) helped us care for my mum with Alzheimer's at home and were fantastic. They gave lots of practical help around the house and even got my mum doing some activities she's not done for a long time! The visits from the friendly team were also very welcomed support for my dad, who really looks forward to their visits. Highly recommended.
The lovely ladies of Home Instead have been caring for Mum, who is 96-years-old, since the middle of 2017. The whole team have supported Mum and myself during that period helping with ongoing changes of care needs of Mum. I would like to highlight the times of Mum's falls that lead to hospital admissions. The carers have stayed with Mum until I or the paramedics have arrived even though it was past their contracted time. The office or out of hours members always there to be an extra pair of hands and a good listening ear for my support. The restrictions of lockdown have been difficult. Mum was regularly taken for walks in the communal garden, she had FaceTime calls to me and assisted to do some water-colour painting, Home Instead provide a service that is more than a tick box, they really care for their clients and family. My family really wish the manager a continuing success with the business and BIG thank you to all the lovely carers who have meet Mum's needs.
Having had care from this agency from July 2019, I can honestly say they have been the best of 5 agencies I have had over the years. Top ratings for regularity, security, attention to detail in health checks, confidentiality, timekeeping, courtesy, appearance and reliability. Always available to contact, helpful in collecting prescriptions and shopping. I will, without doubt, recommend this agency anytime. I could not have had a better set of carers.
The care and attention my husband has received has been exemplary. The kindness shown not only to him but to me also has been very much appreciated. Some of the girls attending him, get the best out of him. He has always been a joker and is able to take as well as give a joke, even now. Believe me, that is very much appreciated, as some days he is not on this planet. That is my opinion only.
Mum has Alzheimer's and still lives independently with the marvellous help of her befrienders/caregivers from Home Instead. Every one of the caregivers are hard-working, very friendly and keep her cheery. They always offer a little bit of exercise to get her out of the flat (difficult in these times of Covid-19) but a walk around the garden chatting, rather than on her own, is lovely. She is encouraged to eat, drink (they make sure her meds are taken and cook food required) and they make her a nutritious supplement drink as well, so keeping up her energy and health levels. It is such a relief to us daughters, who are having to stay away, that these brave and wonderful carers are self-sacrificing in these hard times and following all the health procedures we would want, putting on masks, aprons etc., plus stressing to Mum the importance of self-isolation. Every extra request to the agency staff is immediately incorporated into Mum's care plan and we couldn't cope without you all. Thank you so much.
I have found the Home Instead carers to be extremely reliable and conscientious in the care of my dad. He looks forward to their visits and as his personal needs have become greater, my sister and I feel secure in the knowledge that he is in good hands. We also feel that we can contact the care agency at any time to discuss any concerns that we may have about our dad and that the agency will act on them in a timely manner.
I first became aware of Home Instead and their services when my Mother needed assistance with bathing, and they have been more than helpful in assisting Mum. Since then, I have had to call on their assistance, more and more as my parents are very old and still fiercely independent, but alas, the time has crept up, and Home Instead have once again stepped up to the mark to assist in their care. Everyone I have met has always been courteous, polite, and very capable in their duties.
I would like to say that we have received excellent care from your girls, especially our regular CAREGivers. Everyone was always so kind, friendly and caring. We would highly recommend your service to others.
Home Instead team looked after my mum in her own home for the last 10 weeks of her life. All the carers and the live-in carer were outstanding. I couldn't have wished for better. Dedicated and professional, knowledgeable, kind and caring, very quickly became part of the family. Office staff equally helpful, caring and friendly. My husband and I initially stayed with mum overnight, after 5 weeks we decided to have a live-in carer, this lady was mine and my mum's "Mary Poppins". I will be forever grateful for her experienced care and kindness to mum, to myself and our family. Thank you so much.
My mother felt well cared for and looked forward to each visit. The company of the carers did her a lot of good.
The team looked after my wife, who had MND, sadly she passed away recently. I cannot thank the carers enough for their kindness and support. They were all like family to us, and the office team were always so helpful. They all attended the funeral, which meant so much.
Home Instead looked after my mother for a short period before she passed. The carer was wonderful, and Mum always looked forward to their visits. They were kind, caring and perfectly matched. We highly recommend them.
We have been so pleased with the standard of care provided by the carers from Home Instead. My mother wished to stay in her own home during her last three months and we could not have managed this on our own or without the support from her carers who became part of the family team looking after her. From just needing help in dressing, when we first needed help. Sadly Mum's condition rapidly deteriorated and the carers coped with it quickly becoming palliative care. The whole Home Instead team made us feel supported and helped us so much in such a stressful and emotionally difficult time.
