View Full Details of Ashridge Home Care LtdMy mother was recently taken ill and rushed into hospital. The visiting carer provided by Ashridge Home Care was absolutely wonderful. Recognising the gravity of the situation, she alerted the family, contacted the doctor and stayed on till one of us could get there. As a result of my mother's illness my parents needed additional care. The staff at Ashridge were very kind and understanding as they helped us consider the different options and we opted for live-in care, enabling my parents to stay together in their own home. This was quickly and efficiently put in place. The carers looking after my parents are kind, supportive and trustworthy. They have built up very good relationships with my parents who have become very fond of them. The standard of care is excellent. I would not hesitate to recommend Ashridge Home Care.
My father has been supported by Ashridge Home Care for the last 2 years. The standard of support and care has been very high quality. We have used a number of carers during this period and eventually settled on a select few that knew how to operate around the house looking after my father and supporting my mother. I would have no hesitation recommending their services to anyone who is in need of being cared for at home.
This was my husband's first experience of receiving care from anyone other than family. We were both anxious about a week of live-in respite care but we needn't have been. Our experience with Ashridge Homecare has been excellent from the initial phone call. The assessment process was very compassionate and professional and a detailed and thorough care plan was written by the assessor. We were immediately put at ease. The carer was professional and attentive to my husband's needs and gave an excellent standard of care. She also looked after our cat and the house was kept immaturely clean and tidy by her throughout the week. I have no hesitation in recommending Ashridge Homecare and we have already booked another week of live-in care with them ourselves.
Dealing with Ashridge has been an absolute pleasure. They are professional and reliable and their carers are especially well trained. My father's long-term live-in carer was going home for 5 weeks and Ashridge did a more than perfect job of filling this gap. I would highly recommend it.
We needed some support very last minute Immediately they helped us and put in care within 24 hours. The carers have been amazing and we feel very lucky to be working with such a professional organisation.
I contacted Ashridge Homecare after my father had spent 7 weeks in a local care home on respite at the beginning of this year. He is in his late 90's and prior to the respite had lived independently with minimal help. However, after a series of falls, we agreed as a family to find a live-in carer. Ashridge has been exceptional at providing the appropriate live-in carer to match my father's needs. This includes complete caring as well as hospital visits as and when needed. He has a dog which is looked after by the live-in carer as well. I would strongly recommend Ashridge as an option to care for an elderly relative.
Ashridge Home Care really did offer fantastic and understanding care to my father in his final months, his carers were so well organised and professional, caring and compassionate, we couldn't have had a better team looking after him. Thank you so much for all that you did.
I have had three carers from this company who have all been helpful whilst recovering from several eye operations. The house has been kept tidy and meals provided, enabling me to resume my daily activities. The main benefit of a live-in carer has been the company provided and learning how to share space with another person. I am particularly impressed by the consideration shown and encouragement given. The only downside is the transition back to self-care when the carer leaves. However, I certainly cannot complain as regards the care given by this company's carers and would recommend the company to anyone in need of assistance and support.
My father was a client between 2020 and 2024, when he passed away. Please think carefully about live-in care. Dad's main carers gave excellent care throughout and they are the 1 star in my review. What happened when they were gone makes me feel so guilty. There was a scald to his leg which saw us in A&E from 23:45 to 7am. Dad was in such pain and distress. I requested support but the services manager refused. No compensation offered, taxi fares offered but not delivered twice. The enquiry failed to identify management failings. I felt discouraged from investigating policy changes. Lack of training with standing aids. Carer discouraged a visit to A&E (fractured clavicle). Accidents still happening (skinning of the leg with no explanation) until the end. Really no confidence that Ashridge were geared up to give Dad consistent safe care. Please don't be hesitant to ask questions and get answers. Make sure carers are supervised. Don't forget CQC will support you and social services management.
I contacted Ashridge Home Care as I needed a live-in carer at short notice following a surgical tooth extraction in hospital. They were very understanding and helpful. Within a few days I was given a carer who came the day before the operation. She immediately summed up the situation, requirements for special diet etc. and took over all housekeeping. Her care and concern was excellent and her support and kindness enabled me to have a restful, healthy and healing time. Especially as we shared the same interests. I shall recommend them.
A particular member of staff has been extremely competent in all she has done here; also providing companionship to us both. She is always cheerful and carries out her duties quietly, efficiently and with integrity. She has become a good friend! Nothing is too difficult for her and it is a pleasure to see her each morning.
We have had a very positive review with Ashridge Home Care Ltd. We needed urgent live-in care for my mother whilst my father was in hospital. The staff were caring and attentive taking on board all of our needs and were able to get someone in place in less than 48 hours. Our carer was wonderful and did a brilliant job looking after my mother. Whilst this was for a respite care only, I know we will use them again in the future. Thank you everyone for coming to our rescue!
Two members of staff and the team at Ashridge have been caring, understanding and above all extremely efficient in helping us with our hospital discharge care. They had great sympathy for our immediate needs and have done all they can to help. I would recommend them to anyone who is in need of a care package, and they will tailor it to fit exactly with your own personal requirements. It’s been a genuine pleasure working with them, nothing has been too much trouble.
Ashridge provided live-in care for my stepmother for getting on for two years. Over this period they placed some really excellent carers with my stepmother, and who almost became part of the family. In the run-up to her passing peacefully at home last month the level and quality of care was exceptional. I would not hesitate to recommend Ashridge Home Care.
Ashridge Home Care provided a 24-hour live-in care service for my late Father who had terminal cancer. From the very first time I called, the staff at Ashridge were so kind, helpful, knowledgeable and professional, and made the whole process so straightforward and stress-free, at a very worrying time for us all. Both carers who came to help look after Dad were knowledgeable, kind and so helpful, always treating Dad with the utmost dignity and respect. Thank you so much for everything.
Mum could come out of hospital but social services weren't able to provide the necessary support. We contacted a staff member and she immediately leapt into action, visiting Mum in hospital and understanding her needs, matching her with the fabulous and kind carers who held the fort at very short notice for 24 hours. Mum was so happy to get home and loved having the carer stay with her, probably the first time in her 86 years that she's had someone solely focused on looking after her. It put our minds at rest having someone keep an eye on her and we were so glad she was there when Mum had a medical emergency. She managed the situation in a calm and caring manner. The staff member has kept in touch throughout the placement, always thoughtful and helpful. It is an expensive service but we consider it money well spent. Thank you to all.
My carer was a nice person to have around. She was always cheerful and would do what was asked and was discreet, withdrawing when guests arrived. She was quite disorganised, often leaving me to sort myself out. Unused to making a bed, preparing a hot water bottle, general tidying up or cleaning the house. She ate her own meals when she felt like it, with no fixed times. A good cook with vegetables, no desserts or fruit. She enjoyed popping out to the shop, five minutes walk away. To begin with, she monitored my physio and was careful about times for pills. Perhaps respite care is not her strong point.
I engaged Ashridge Home Care on behalf of my mum who was recovering from a series of falls which necessitated her care being increased to live in. From day one they were fantastic, with a thorough initial assessment and engaging an emergency full-time live-in carer with a minimum of fuss. A week or so later the permanent carer was engaged who was without doubt exemplary, a credit not only to herself and her profession but Ashridge in general. I/we couldn't have asked for more - she went the extra mile from day one and made the whole experience easy and stress-free, she was outstanding. I couldn't recommend Ashridge enough basically and thank them for their help in what could've been a stressful time.
I approached Ashridge in late April on behalf of my husband, 83. Their assessment of us was done by a mature and experienced former carer. This meeting to discuss his needs and check the house was thorough, gentle and friendly including a slow walk up our drive during which they observed his level of mobility. Having stressed the relevant aspects of my husband's needs I was very impressed by how carefully they matched him and how supportive they were in assisting when I couldn't understand some aspects of the care plan I needed to complete. An outstanding carer came twice since then, first for 2 weeks and in October for 3 weeks. It is because my husband knew he was in good hands the first time that I was able to go on a longer holiday in October. Any concerns or queries I had have been instantly responded to. I also know from our experienced carer that he considers Ashridge to be the most professional and caring organisation he's ever worked for.
If you use this agency, please ensure the live-in carer has read and agrees to follow the Care Plan before the contract begins. I had a poor experience arising from the fact that the agency had failed to check that the carer had read and was happy to follow the care plan. As a consequence, I had to ask the carer to leave. A care plan read and agreed upon by all parties is the basis for a successful working relationship and more importantly a happy outcome for the client. What happened was a contradiction to the message Ashridge had presented when the agency first visited our home to discuss our requirements. Perhaps I was too star-struck by their recent award as a 'winning home care provider' to scrutinise them sufficiently or perhaps we were just unlucky. What I do know is that I feel fortunate that I was living in the home at the time.
