View Full Details of Care Owl LtdThe manager and her team began visiting my parents after a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s. My mum was an extremely reluctant care user and it took some time to gradually gain her trust and confidence. Eventually they required visits three times a day as the disease progressed. The carers were very patient and courteous at all times and adapted well to my parents preferences. The manager was very approachable and quickly responded to messages when my parents' needs changed. She and other members of the team were good at finding solutions to their increasing care needs and on many occasions went above and beyond to resolve problems as they arose. Thank you for helping my parents to live independently at home for as long as possible.
Absolutely outstanding company, the way they treat their service users is second to none. The staff are all amazing, friendly, kind and caring people. They all have a heart of gold. The manager is very much out there and involved with each service user so she has hands-on experience to ensure they are each getting only the very best care. Care Owl you are nothing short of a 10/10.
Two sides to Care OWL: Friendly knowledgeable carers. Generally a good standard of care for three-plus years for mother with Alzheimer's. Problems with the behaviour of manager/owner: Refusal to include me in discussions/decisions. Refusal to make mother's care plan and risk assessment available to me or other professionals. Made abusive, unfounded accusations about me when I complained about the above to the LG H&SC Ombudsman - who then found in my favour. Failure to respond to phone calls/emails - even from Ombudsman. Refusal to meet me either to discuss Mother or the manager's apparent problem with me, with the view to resolving difficulties. There is no Power of Attorney for Mother and I spent ten hours a week caring for her. My exclusion, therefore, did not benefit Mother and was not in her best interests. It was unprofessional and caused me much distress, when I could have been a positive contributor to Mother's care package.
