View Full Details of Home Instead (Leicester, Charnwood, Loughborough & Coalville)Good, kind and friendly service delivered by well-trained and effective people. It meets our needs. The range of caregivers is acceptable and they help us by ensuring that we know who to expect on the next visit.
All the staff at Home Instead are excellent and help my husband with great care and understanding of his condition (MS) and also help me in the home to fill in the hour efficiently. Always friendly, cheerful (most important) and interested in my husband and his life. Very reliable and if they are going to be a little late will phone in to let us know. Good communication is important and being able to assess and listen to our particular needs is appreciated.
From the onset of my husband's illness, I received compassion, guidance and information. All options were discussed and when a care package was put in place, everything went smoothly. The management and care staff all went above and beyond. I couldn't be more pleased.
Home Instead have been brilliant helping my aunt go to hospital, and whilst there. Also, they’ve coordinated with the hospital about discharge and visited her there. We’ve always found them to be most helpful and supportive. They really are gems.
Our main point of contact and the team have been brilliant with my 90+ year old aunt's care in her own home over the last few years. They visit 3 times a day and stay overnight sometimes and are so reliable and professional.
I highly recommend Home Instead. Home Instead have provided first-class care to my mum and have supported me as carer for her. They have been able to give advice with regards to the changing needs of my mum and support me in attending medical appointments.
As Mum's dementia progressed, she started to forget to prepare herself meals, and some time ago, the caregiver, when attending in the morning to ensure she takes her medication, offered to prepare a sandwich for her tea. Towards the end of last year, it had become a struggle to get Mum to eat anything other than snacking on cakes and biscuits and thinking that perhaps she was bored with sandwiches, I bought various wraps, pittas etc, as a change. When mentioning this, the caregiver then started to prepare a nice little side salad alongside dainty sandwiches to encourage Mum to eat. It's reassuring to know that they are thinking about why they are doing what they do and think about additional ways to help Mum. They are not just coming along, doing what's on the list and then leaving.
After initial misgivings by my mother and stepfather, their caregivers have become like members of the family. It is absolutely all I could have wished for. The management team do their best to accommodate any changes, which I appreciate can be a real challenge. They are ready to listen to me and adapt the care package as appropriate. They have also provided some invaluable advice along the way.
We used Home Instead Live-In care for our ninety-five year old mother. All the carers took time to get to know Mum and were willing to go the extra mile to help and support her. The carers were kind and caring and we knew when they were with Mum that she was safe. The support of the whole team at Home Instead was appreciated by us all. Without Home Instead our mother would not have been able to stay at home, which was what she really wanted and we as a family will always be grateful to everyone who enabled this to happen.
Very pleased with the caregivers, they come and just get on with their jobs and are very thorough, they are very high quality caregivers. We have all been really impressed, I am really pleased with the support from the office, both managers and caregivers are very approachable.
Home Instead Charnwood cared for my mother in law for five years up until her death in June 2021. She was a proud and independent lady who struggled to accept she needed help however Home Instead enabled and supported this transition with sensitivity, respect and total professionalism. They went to great lengths to ensure my mother in law was actively involved in planning her care and was able to make decisions that related to how she wanted to be cared for this was so important to my mother in law. All staff from the management and coordination team to visiting carers treated my mother in law with the utmost respect and provided exceptional quality care physically, emotionally and socially. As a result, my mother in law was able to remain safely at home, maintaining her cherished independence and enjoy a good quality of life.
We needed to arrange for my father following discharge from hospital. He would have to self-fund. Original carers were sourced via social services and were kind but under huge time constraints and weren’t supporting Dad. Via his cleaner, we heard of Home Instead and contacted them. Their services come at a premium but you do get what you pay for. They spend the full time with Dad and encourage him to eat, drink and take his tablets. They engage with him and undertake cleaning and laundry duties, as well as sitting and chatting with him. He has recovered a lot of his strength in the last few weeks. My dad doesn’t want to go into a home and this is a viable alternative. Dad has a dedicated team of carers that cover his 3 daily visits, so they get to know him and his likes. I’ve met all of them and they are all very personable. I have also had progress meetings with the General Manager who is keen to ensure that they deliver on their promises, which to date, they do. I would recommend them.
We have had nothing but excellent support and understanding from Home Instead over the last 2 months in providing care for our mum who has moderate Alzheimer's. They have been patient, kind, gentle and professional in helping to gain confidence from Mum - especially as she does not see the need for support. In two months, they have taken her from being very reluctant to needing care to making pancakes with the caregivers! I can recommend them to anyone wanting the very best care and also peace of mind.
The team at Home Instead have been incredible in supporting our family, the difference we have seen in our grandparents since support started has been huge. The carers are wonderful, kind and caring and they have become new additions to our family. I would highly recommend them.
Home Instead have looked after my dad in his own home for the past few years until he needed residential care earlier this month. The quality of care that my dad received was outstanding; they really truly care about their clients and without exception have treated my dad with respect and kindness. The team of carers is kept small so that my dad got to know and trust those coming in everyday. If somebody new joins the team, they make sure that person accompanies a known caregiver to ensure proper introductions and familiarity. They have an app that allows you to view details of the visits each day including an update on what has been eaten and any problems that need addressing. As my dad became more advanced in his Alzheimer's and the problems increased, Home Instead provided solutions and were always willing to think of ways to manage; nothing was too much trouble. I live some way from my dad and they have been my trusted eyes and ears on the ground.
We began to use Home Instead to provide much-needed help for our dad in caring for our mum. Mum has a number of disabilities including dementia. Home Instead offered a service that would provide mum with no more than 3 carers who would be matched to her personality, likes etc. All I can say is wow, the difference these three amazing ladies have made to Mum in such a short period of time. Mum on coming out of hospital after 8 weeks in January has always been adamant that she would not have carers and so for a while, we described them as nurses. They are now mums friends and she looks forward to their daily visits. Home Instead provide you with an app so after each call we see a report on Mum, Dad, moods, tasks and anything else that is needed. They make us chuckle and it's great to see the bonds being formed between Mum and her ladies. They say in life you get what you pay for, so true. Maybe more expensive, but worth every penny. Would highly recommend.
When we contacted Home Instead as we were struggling with the care of our mother, Home Instead were great. They came out the next day to review the requirements. A plan was then put into place with a lovely lady, she was brilliant. The whole service was of a high standard. I would not hesitate to recommend their service should the wish of your loved one is to stay at home.
Both the management and carers at Home Instead are quite exceptional! They have helped my 93-year-old mother through a very tough few months before she eventually had to take up residence in a care home. Thank you very much Home Instead. I couldn't recommend Home Instead more highly and if you have the slightest concern over care for your loved ones then give them a call. It might just be the best thing you ever did.
We are delighted with the care. Always on time and such lovely people. My father is always treated with respect and care. The carers always offer help and are willing to support both of us. They always go that little bit more.
The quality of the care provided is excellent. The carers seem to genuinely enjoy their work and they are very responsive to Mum’s needs. They have taken appropriate action when emergencies arose. Unlike other agencies, there is complete continuity of care and the small same team cover all of the visits. Communication both ways has been excellent and even when contacting the office out of hours I am greeted by a friendly, helpful professional, which is reassuring. As a family, we have been delighted with our choice of Home Instead.
