View Full Details of Amicus Homecare LtdAmicus has been a very valuable partner in providing care and support to my father. The staff always punctual and provided all the support that my father needed at the time. Recommended as a service provider.
I have always used Amicus for my care services. Initially far more than now as my health improved. Suffice it to say, management, staff and carers are wonderful. I could not manage without their care and services.
Overall the service is very good and the care employees are brilliant.
Great service from friendly punctual staff. Never had any issues with this very communicative and reliable service. Always looking after my mother with care and dignity on a visit. I would highly recommend this service provider.
I cannot praise this company enough. They look after my mother who has Dementia. They are courteous and treat my mother with respect. The service the carers supply is brilliant. They also transport my mother to her daycare during the week. We could not manage without their help and support.
I was apprehensive about having carers for my husband who has Alzheimer's. The manager visited and put my mind at rest. I can not express highly enough the care and respect that the carers give to my husband. They are punctual and full of joy when they arrive. I would 100% recommend Amicus. Thank you for your help and kindness.
Each and every one of the Amicus Carers has to be described as being lovely, caring human beings. When I hear of some of the verbal abuse, they put up with it makes me very angry. I do wonder if those guilty actually deserve the level of help and kindness provided by these ladies. Nothing is too much trouble and they are all very welcome in our home
It is a pleasure to write a review for Amicus. We have always found them to be endlessly cheerful and positive and to show respect and understanding to my husband. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them.
My carers show patience. They are kind, thoughtful and always asking about my needs. Always smile and make me laugh and feel as normal as I can be. The staff are polite and understanding. I feel very happy and treat me with respect as I do show the same to them. Long may it continue.
I have used Amicus to supply care services for several months and have nothing but considerable praise for the quality of their work. All the different staff that have attended me are most capable, experienced, thoughtful, bright, and also very pleasant people. I enjoyed them coming to see me, apart from their expertise in caring for me. Well done to all the Amicus team! At present my health condition has improved such that, for the time being, I can care for myself. But my cancer condition is such that I will, sometime in the perhaps not too distant future, need far more care than I have received to date. When that time comes, I shall approach Amicus for care as a first priority.
Until recently we had no experience of carers, and always being independent, we were alien as to what to expect. The occupational therapist at the hospital demanded a minimum of 12 hours of care per day, which everyone we contacted said was far in access of anything they could do and being aware of my husband's needs. So we did some detective work and alphabetically found the holy grail aka Amicus Homecare Ltd. I am not being patronising when I/we say that this company is flawless and are excellent. Obviously clients and family may look for little blips in the service, when reading reviews... But... we can't find anything to fault. No matter how cloudy the day, when we hear the keys in the lock, we are greeted with sunshine. Thanks to each and every member of the team at Amicus for the kindness, care and predominantly for eliminating so much of our stress and worry.
Very happy with level of care my father receives. Friendly, capable staff with great timekeeping and reliability. My father is comfortable with them and is thriving at 93. When he recently had a fall, the carer came for me immediately and had already called an ambulance.
The hospital recommended my husband have a bed downstairs. At the time, we invited Amicus Homecare to assist with getting my husband washed, dressed and put to bed in the evening. We couldn't have wished for better cooperation and help. Very patient staff.
I have been looked after by Amicus Homecare Ltd for over a year now and I am very happy with the standard of care I receive. I find the staff attentive caring and very kind they are led by an excellent management team who listen to me and adapt my care plan accordingly. My needs change almost daily and I find Amicus very flexible in adapting to those changes. The manager visits me regularly and discusses options with me so I am always kept informed. Amicus is the way forward for me Thank you everyone.
I have been very pleased with the care visits of Amicus. Not only have they looked after my father every day, but on a couple of occasions, they have helped him in emergencies - once when they spotted small behavioural changes which gave me an early indication of an illness (which was then treated successfully), and the second time when he fell over, and they called an ambulance and looked after him until the paramedics arrived. They have made a huge difference to my father's quality of life and given us all some peace of mind.
I was really impressed with my care. The girls did everything they were supposed to do 99% of the time. They were warm and friendly. Sometimes they were asked to do too much by the office which put too much pressure on them but that rarely showed in their work. The only reason I didn’t give them the full 5 stars was due to the new manager, who lied to me twice. I think the directors should get out to the clients and do 1 day of shifts to see what the carers have to deal with like traffic etc. The managers are supposed to let you know if there’s a change in your schedule or if the carers are going to be late that rarely happened and I personally asked for my schedule to be sent for the next week, on a Friday but sadly the supervisor didn’t send it until a couple of days later. Again as we all know however hard the agency tried, they just didn’t have enough carers. I would like to thank them for their wonderful work and care and would highly recommend them.
Amicus helped coordinate my mum's move from a care home (following a two-month hospital stay) back to her own home. This was a stressful time and we didn't know what to expect. The manager was incredibly helpful. She took time to get to know Mum and offered a very friendly, very professional approach. We started with a high level of support and have slowly reduced this so that Mum is now well enough and confident enough to manage without care. Amicus provided a very personal approach and as a family, we appreciate everything that was done. Care is really expensive (which is a separate and difficult social/political issue) but Amicus' fees are competitive and their genuine willingness to adapt to changing needs puts them way ahead of the other companies we contacted. Mum is managing incredibly well at the moment so no longer needs daily care. If this changes at all Amicus will be the first company we contact for support.
A great small agency with a fantastic manager who goes out of her way to communicate and help in what can be a difficult situation for everyone adjusting to new routines. The team of carers is kept small to allow for continuity and carers have been very kind, helpful and reliable.
My mother has been having carers for over a year and until Amicus Homecare came on board, I did not realise how different and unique they are as a care agency. I don't live close by and the manager has gone out of her way and gone above and beyond with everything involving my mother. She has been a source of help, support, and guidance for me especially, but she is not on her own. She has an amazing team of carers who work with her. I have had 12 months of care with other care agencies and I have seen how little they do, when Amicus carers came in, I see them taking the time to talk to my mother, to help her with her exercises making an effort to engage her in positive purposeful conversation. Today, my mother fell, I was 200 miles away, I rang the manager and with no hesitation she dropped everything and went straight over there. Amicus always put my mother first, the manager and her team always put clients first, and this gives me peace of mind. Well done to the manager and your amazing team “your awesome”
Incredible service. Staff are all warm and kind but also very efficient. Management is excellent and attentive, my father is treated as an individual and always with great respect and dignity. I can't recommend them highly enough and am so grateful for their presence in Dad's life. He likes them and trusts them and it's such a relief having such a consistent and supportive service. A weight off my mind knowing they are coming, both my parents look forward to their visits because their arrival always means positive and joyful company, as well as kind and professional support for my father.
