View Full Details of Home Instead (West Exeter & Teignbridge)My dad was looked after by live in carers from Home Instead for 4 months and the service was impeccable. Everyone I spoke to in the office and the people who took care of my dad were all so professional, approachable and very caring. I would highly recommend using Home Instead because their service is closely tailored to the person's needs and nothing is too much trouble. Communication was excellent throughout and I was so comfortable knowing my dad was being well looked after. Thank you to everyone involved you have been amazing!
My uncle is very happy with his carer who has been consistent for approx 4-5 years. He likes her and she provides a very high-quality service to him. However, my uncle has no issues with his carer's substitutes when they visit. As with most elderly people, he prefers who he knows. My uncle whilst understandably frail at 94 still has his independence and has now reached a very good age for a man. Home Instead has been key in enabling my uncle to retain most of his independence. Home Instead has always been available to pass messages onto Gordon as he is profoundly hard of hearing and I don't live local to him being around an hour's drive away.
Home Instead are a very caring organisation that tries very hard to make the service to each client as unique as can be so that the service provided is tailored to the needs of the client. I believe that the carers try very hard to build a rapport with the client so that the client is comfortable and confident with the carers that he/she has. The communication between the client's family and the care company is on the whole very good so that the client's family are aware of any problems that may arise. My main request is that a client's family is contacted formally every three months to review the key responsibilities provided and to agree if any changes should be made to the services currently being provided.
All my carers are very helpful and kind, doing all my requirements above and beyond the call of duty. They fulfil all my needs, couldn’t wish for more. They are a very friendly team of ladies and I enjoy hearing about their lives and their activities. Most of their lives are more interesting than mine as I don’t go out any more, but they are always interested. I have a cat (tonkonese) and as cat lovers will know these animals are very choosy, only bothering with people they accept and trust, and believe me all my ladies are fully accepted by my cat and greeted enthusiastically when they appear. On occasions when I have had to ring the office I have always been given the information I needed, if they didn't know I received a phone call later with a suitable answer. Overall I couldn’t rate this service any higher and I have been so happy that I was recommended to them, I had previously had carers who did not fill the name of carers.
The care givers enable me to continue living in my own home and always leave me with a smile. Care givers are reliable, punctual, efficient and attentive. I am very pleased with Home Instead services.
We received excellent service from one member of staff in particular and she formed a brilliant relationship with my wife. We only cancelled the contract as my son employed a nanny for his children who was also trained as a carer for the elderly. She had spare hours when the children were at school so it assisted everyone for her to care for my wife. If circumstances change in the future I would have no hesitation in contacting you.
Home Instead have been helping to look after my mum for over two years. Initially this was to provide support and help around the house when my father started to suffer with Alzheimer's and dementia. Following Dad's death a couple of years ago, Mum's mental health further deteriorated and she was also diagnosed with Alzheimer's and dementia. Home Instead were able to reschedule daily visits to coincide with things such as shopping deliveries etc. as well as providing much-needed companionship, cleaning and washing etc. to enable Mum to remain in her home for as long as possible. The online daily reports were very useful, these together with phone calls from Home Instead to update me of unusual events enabled me to keep track of Mum's health and behaviour. I can highly recommend the service that they provide as I live over an hour's journey away and Home Instead were able to respond to crisis calls outside of scheduled visits if needed.
My uncle has flourished with the excellent care, kindness and companionship that Home Instead provides. He was very resistant to the idea of help but now would not do without the carers at Home Instead. I live 250 miles away and I have peace of mind that my uncle is in very safe hands. He is happy and contented. I would always recommend Home Instead for their excellent personal service to those who are vulnerable and in need of help.
Overall the care from the team has been very good. We feel that Mother benefits from the care team visits especially now she has two visits a day. She is getting used to having her personal care tended to as she is now more reliant on help.
My mother has recently started with visits from Home Instead. I was very impressed with the quick and efficient initial start-up process. My mother is very happy with the visits so far. This is a great relief to me as I am moving further away for a while and it’s important that I can be confident of the high standard so far provided.
My mum's carers have been excellent, providing the care and company she needed after her husband went into a home. The carers are all so lovely, it’s great to get daily updates. They are also very responsive to our requests. Definitely recommend!
Mum is receiving excellent care to enable her to maintain living alone in her own home. She is happy when I visit her to continue to care for her myself; I now feel such relief that I'm not alone looking after her, but there is support for me as well as for Mum. It was important for me to ensure that Mum had a consistent team of carers who would get to know her and I can tell from the 'log' they write that they are establishing a good rapport with her. It is the little things they comment on such as her laughter and her smile, or that they've helped to put her earrings in - very important! I know that Mum's nutritional needs have been met as she has more support now with diet and fluids. During the hot weather everyone visiting has helped to provide an increase in Mum's fluid intake. Meeting Mum's hygiene needs has required a little recent prompting, but I cannot fault the 'proactive' hands-on approach from the care manager who has led by example in ensuring this is done. Thank you.
I have been very impressed with the efficiency of the administrative team and the kindness and professionalism of the carers for my mother. I would recommend your service. Each carer has taken the time to get to know my mother and her needs.
My elderly father (client) was resistant to any kind of help in the home, despite it being evident he needed it, with increasing needs. The deputy care manager took it upon herself to visit my father several times, using her experience to introduce my father to the idea of taking on the care he needed and backing up the carers' visits with her visits to chat with my father. She was so patient, taking her time to listen but also being persuasive of what he needed and what she was able to provide to help. The team provided a great service with the website portal providing me with the info of what had been done, along with the schedules of tasks, but were always available to take phone calls personally. A highly professional service which comes highly recommended.
My carer always came on time and was willing to do shopping, washing, walking with me. She was very helpful and good company. As I am now more or less independent I no longer need her services but would certainly book again if I need it.
Carers from Home Instead (West Exeter & Teignbridge) have been helping my wife for six months. They are always pleasant and kind and as it says on the tin - caring. Most weeks we have the same carers which enables pleasant dialogue and a genuine relationship between us.
My sister and I are delighted with the care our dad receives from the carers. We also met one of the service managers today, which was most helpful to all of us moving forward and keeping all informed.
The care provided to me has been consistently of a good standard. All carers involved are mindful of my needs and provide the care and companionship that I require to a good standard, freeing up time for my wife to have a deserved break to do what she wants knowing I am safe and well looked after
Delighted to say I am very impressed with your service. My cleaner is like having an individual cleaner daily; she doesn't need asking because she is so used to my routines and requirements! I am hoping to arrange some personal care soon to help me get back to showering etc, following my mobility problems and will be contacting yourselves about this in the next few weeks.
The carers that Home Instead have provided are outstanding and a credit to the firm, both going the extra mile and providing a high standard of care and support. We appreciate their companionship and conversation, as well as the personal care and domestic duties they complete. We look forward to their daily visits.
