View Full Details of Helping Hands Home Care (Richmond)Our four day live in carer was amazing. Mum became very unwell quite rapidly and the carer called me to come as she was concerned. When I arrived she 'took control' in a positive way to get an ambulance so that mum could be assessed. We were advised to go to A&E at 10pm. The carer came with me, which made a huge difference as mum continued to be unwell whilst waiting for triage. Our carer stayed to 2am and in the morning was available to give information to the doctor (on phone) in a calm, factual way, helping to speed up diagnosis. Mum was discharged in the afternoon - we came back to a very clean, tidy house - carpets vacuumed, laundry done and bed made up. This carer ensured that mum was cared for physically, emotionally and domestically. We have had Helping Hands care for a while now and every carer has been great, so it's hard to single someone out. Thank you for having such a supportive team.
Excellent standard of care - staff were consistently kind and attuned to Mum's needs. They often went above and beyond and used their initiative. Communication with management was consistently excellent - they showed patience, insight and flexibility. I would highly recommend Helping Hands.
The team at the Richmond office have been instrumental in helping to keep my mother in her flat over the past year. On occasions where extra help is needed; for example, helping with a hospital visit or correcting a blister pack issue. The team are caring and professional and should be commended as they make my life easier, living a long way from my mother.
Carers (with one exception and she was removed at my request) have been faultless in their care and friendly. I have not given management a top score, only because I have not received a rota with an expected time of arrival, not a big issue for me, since it is either 8.30 or 9.00 am.
Initially, my mother needed help with washing and some personal care. She enjoyed the twice-weekly visits from the carer. As her health deteriorated and her needs increased, Helping Hands Home Care was able to increase the provision and frequency of visits with reliable and personable carers.
Our regular carer is a very welcome visitor twice a week for one hour each time. She helps my husband with his shower etc. then changes his bedlinen and thoroughly cleans his bedroom. She is so willing to take on any odd task and is cheerful and supportive with a strong sense of commitment. Thank you Helping Hands.
I live with and look after my uncle a 94-year-old gentleman. We have had care from Helping Hands for some years now and have always found them tremendous. While writing this I was trying to think of the best words to describe the service we have received - professional certainly, and helpful. But they don't really get across the type of help they have given us. The best word I guess is caring but that doesn't really do them justice. Helping Hands have proved invaluable to us, both in terms of the day-to-day support and their ability to scale up that support at a moments notice if required. The team at Richmond have proved invaluable to us, and I have nothing but praise for the work they do.
I feel lucky that we found Helping Hands Home Care (Richmond). We have been using their services for over two years now, mainly to allow me a day off from cooking but also to introduce a friendly face into my mother's week! We have met great carers who are lovely people, good with mum and mum enjoys their company too, which is important!
The carers who come to look after my husband are brilliant. They encourage him to get out of bed and then wash and dress him and help him into the armchair. He is unable to sit up or walk unaided but they always encourage him to try and take a few steps. Before I used them my life was a nightmare. My husband would often stay in bed for days refusing to get up, eat or drink. Helping Hands carers have changed all this improving, not only my husband's life but also mine. I don't know what I would do without them. They are friendly and professional, even the dog likes them. The office keeps in close touch sending me a weekly rota and letting me know if there is to be a change of carer any day.
