View Full Details of Alcedo Care SouthportWould not recommend this agency to anyone looking for care. They do not do what they claim on their website, they treat the family of the service users with no respect, they ignore phone calls, emails and all other forms of communication. The staff provided do not have the specific training for the needs of the service user and they employ anyone with half a transferable skill and stick them onto complex packages without further training. They don't follow policies and procedures and more worryingly don't have policies for a lot of things that should be standard. The management lack health and social care experience, office staff are practically children and don't listen to word you say. That seems to a be a running theme throughout the agency. Not listening. They can't even get the users disabilities on their care plans right and claim to have no idea about major needs of their clients. And they will lie to cover themselves when you pull them on their failings! Shocking quality.
My husband has complex needs so was initially anxious about a new care package. Have only had carers for a few weeks but must say we are extremely happy with the care and attention given. Have seen the same carers (3) since the beginning so we are happy with this continuation of care and feel that they are getting to know my husband well. All are pleasant people, attentive and prompt.
I don't live near my mum so needed carers to keep an eye on her, Alcedo has provided the care and necessary confidence in looking after my mum that I needed. Although Mum doesn't need a lot of care at present we know she will in the future with her life-limiting illness, the companionship and care they already show Mum has been fantastic. The management creates a caring, inclusive environment for both the client and family and is very easy to deal with.
I do not live in the UK and I rely on the detailed, twice daily reports filled out by the Alcedo team to monitor the wellness of my father. The carers, and our primary contact, are so thoughtful and kind to my father (who can be tricky) and they make sure that my sister and I are aware of everything that he does, or needs. After he fell in September I spent some time here to keep an eye on his healing and so was lucky enough to watch the team at work: the care is amazing and he has formed a really strong bond with many of the carers. I would be more than happy to recommend Alcedo Southport to anyone: they really do actually 'care' about their clients.
Myself and my mum are very happy with all the carers that come into our home. 1 or 2 problems with times of calls but that seems to of been sorted now. The carers that come are always happy and bubbly they do brighten up my mum. They are always respectful of our home and helpful to me always asking if there is anything they can do for me washing up, changing bed, emptying bins, nothing is ever too much trouble for them.
Excellent service.
All the carers that come here are very good with my husband, very pleasant and well mannered. My husband has got to know them and feels at ease with them.
Friendly carers, interact well with my mum. Do everything we ask them to i.e. changing bed and emptying bathroom bins. Time is not always what we have asked for, care call is supposed to be 9-10 in the morning. Mum is often in the shower by 9 o'clock.
The care my granddaughter receives from Alcedo Care is excellent. All the staff are very polite and caring. They do their job thoroughly and are very happy on arrival and my granddaughter is always happy when they leave and look forward to the next call. Nothing is too much trouble. I would recommend Alcedo Care to anyone looking for a care company.
We have used Alcedo Care since December 2020. Very happy with carers, some are excellent. Lots of dedication is shown to my husband by the carers. Wish we could have them all the time.
I’m really happy with the care my mum receives from Alcedo Care. The carers are always very kind and considerate when dealing with my mum’s needs. It’s been very helpful to have a flexible package for Mum which we can increase as her needs change. I would definitely recommend Alcedo Care.
As a family, we are so blessed to have these carers. We have kept her at home because of the knowledge they have.
I cannot tell you what a lifesaver Alcedo Care Southport has been. My 89 year old dad who has dementia is still capable of living in his own home and we have had some awful experiences of care providers in the Southport area. That is until I made a phone call to Alcedo Southport and spoke to a member of staff. What a difference this company has made to our lives. There is an app which is great for me as I don't live with Dad so I can access the carer's notes and see if everything is okay. You can also see the rota of who is calling and at what time. Much better than written notes. The staff at Alcedo Care Southport are exactly what you want. They really do care. I had almost given up hope of finding a decent care provider so please rest assured that with this company your relative will be cared for. I get regular phone calls checking that all is ok and if there are any niggles they are sorted. Please do not hesitate to give this company a ring. I personally would highly recommend them.
Very satisfied with all the carers.
Since visiting Alcedo in December 2020, my husband has had good care. Some carers have shown excellent care, we have now come to think of them as friends. They encourage my husband with walking and talking. I feel very secure knowing that my husband is in safe hands.
All the team are very professional, they all give their best to deliver excellent quality of care. Thank you very much for the ongoing support. Keep it up.
Everyone who has been to us from Alcedo has been amazing. Their care and support is second to none. They treated my disabled daughter with so much love and laughter which is really important to us as she is non verbal. They treated her with dignity and privacy regarding her personal care. I would recommend Alcedo Care to everyone.
Horrendous service! If I could give a minus score I would. Don't listen to the care needs of the service users, giving what they think is best for them. Requested day and overnight care, only to find out that when the carer arrives she has been told not to cover any overnights as that is for the family to do. What are we paying for if not that? The carer stayed over in our house in the bedroom assigned for carers and did not do any care after 10pm the first time and then 8pm on the second time. We did however have to pay for the privilege of having someone in our house overnight - even though we did not want her there! In the 36 hours requested, we may have received 10 hours of care/support for our daughter when she requested help and support i.e making drinks/food, getting up, dressed etc. The rest of the paid time the carers spent in the bedroom! Management is shocking and clearly does not understand the needs or vulnerabilities of disabled clients who should have someone with them at all times.
I can't praise Alcedo highly enough. They helped to make my mum's last few months not only comfortable but also happy. I'm so glad she was able to die at home with such a lovely group of people caring for her. Thanks Alcedo.
After being sent home from hospital for end-of-life care my wife found herself in the care of Alcedo Care. I was worried as to how this would work out because so many different carers were involved. But no need to worry, it worked out so very well. My wife loved the carers and they loved her, she was treated so well by them all. Thank you all.
