Information and correspondence from management are also excellent.
Helping Hands have looked after Mum for a good few years now, with morning and evening visits. Mum has really benefitted from the friendly care, with staff always making her care personal to her needs that day. The office have always been good at communicating any changes in routine, and we are both grateful for the excellent service provided by the whole team.
The service provided by the team is fantastic. Having them go in twice a day to do meals and other jobs gives me piece of mind that my relative is being well cared for. Nothing ever seems to be a bother and the communication between us is great. I know that I can always phone the office if I need advice or to report some issue and likewise, I will get a call if they feel I need to know something. I would certainly recommend Helping Hands to anyone looking for care for a friend or relative.
Following a stroke and help from the Re-enablement Team, I was able (with a bit of help from my husband) to manage much of my daily living. However, I still needed help to shower, as our shower has steps to get in and out. The carers from Helping Hands have been brilliant! One of them comes twice a week to help me, and I really appreciate it. All are caring, efficient and fun! I feel very fortunate.
I like the new rigid rota.
After a period of having a one-hour visit on two days per week, I moved to half-hour daily. Time of visit is AM and flexible. It works well and I like different helpers. The worker often does laundry and vacuums all done to a reasonable standard, any spare time allows for a chat. All helpers are easy and friendly and write notices if going to cancel. The office is always helpful. My only complaint is that some helpers fail to clean the vacuum or other tools after use.
All the staff at Helping Hands are friendly, kind, and eager to help. I am not local and when my dad experienced a medical emergency, they stayed with him until the ambulance arrived, going above and beyond what you would expect. I am forever grateful to them for that. Would highly recommend it. Thank you so much for everything.
The carers calling on and helping my mother have been excellent at helping her cope with life after my father's death a few years ago, provided company daily and helped manage the daily/weekly tasks at her home so she can remain in a familiar environment and around people and friends that she has known for years. Any requests or issues are efficiently and swiftly dealt with both at home and in the office. Many thanks for your continued vigilance and support.
Helping Hands Domiciliary Care has been dropping in to check on my mum for the last couple of years. This is a great comfort for the family. This was proven priceless in early February when I was working away and the carer found my mum in distress. She called the doctor and waited for the ambulance to come, some 2 hours later. Allowing me enough time to get back. She was rushed into hospital for a life-saving operation. I just want to thank Helping Hands for being there, every day.
Helping Hands stepped in quickly after my Dad had a fall. With no family locally this was essential for enabling my parents to manage at home by themselves. A daily visit - even once Dad got back on his feet - was reassuring for us knowing they had help with personal care - and for general welfare and familiar company -during a difficult time. The whole procedure of dealing with Helping Hands was friendly and efficient. All the carers were genuinely friendly and caring. Excellent service.
I find all the carers and office staff very friendly, kind and very thorough at their job. The carer I have now and on a regular basis is lovely, and we have a good relationship, built up as she is my carer often. Nothing is too much trouble for her (as I have found with all carers), and she is very caring, often giving me advice. The office staff are really helpful and pleasant and try their best to accommodate your requests. Thank you.
Helping Hands provide excellent care to my father-in-law who is 91 years old and lives alone. As a family, we are not local and so we rely on the professional, diligent and caring team who look after Dad to assist him to live an independent life at home. The care he receives is exceptional and he couldn't remain independent without their help. The carers are all so thoughtful and they genuinely take an interest in all aspects of Dad's care. This is backed up by the super team at the office who regularly keep in touch and work with us from afar to provide support when needed. It is rare to find such excellent service and both Dad and us are so grateful for all that Helping Hands do.
My Dad received the highest level of care I could have hoped for. The carers became part of his daily life and we knew he was always looked after and truly actually cared about. Nothing was too much trouble.
Staff are incredibly friendly, helpful and respectful. My mum receives daily support for bathing and she has nothing but the most complimentary comments. How they enter her flat, explain what they are going to do, are thorough but maintain her dignity and leave mum safe. She knows when to expect them and we, as Mum's family, feel reassured that she is getting excellent care. Thank you all
All the carers are friendly, helpful and sensitive to my mother's needs. They are always punctual and complete the allocated time. The managers are approachable and have been very helpful and responsive with any potential problems or changes to the situation.
The staff show a genuine connection with mum. They clearly care about Mum's individual needs particularly, notice the little things and make sure they try to do things right for her. Considering how many clients the staff might deal with during the day, the fact that they are able to deliver this very personal attention with such compassion and kind patience has always impressed me.
Helping Hands have provided an invaluable service to help my Mum maintain her independence in her own home. The service offered is first class, they are incredibly flexible and always aim to meet what is asked of them. The staff are friendly, hard working and always 'wear' a smile! Thank you and well dome Helping Hands... keep up the great work.
Mum recently had a little accident in her home but needed to go to hospital for treatment. Her carer discovered the mishap and acted appropriately, initially calling the district nurse who then called an ambulance. The carer stayed with mum until my brother arrived, well over her allotted time for the visit. All the current carers that mum has are very thoughtful and friendly and provide excellent care. I am contacted if there is a problem and kept up to date with ongoing issues. As a family we are very pleased with the care mum receives from Helping Hands.
A very supportive service from kind, caring staff willing and all go the extra mile, all very supportive.
All the staff go above and beyond on each visit. They chat to my mum and nothing is too much trouble. They know that they can get in touch with me if any concerns or if urgent will call the doctor. They are all to be commended for battling through and delivering excellent care during lockdown.
