View Full Details of Homecare Unique LtdMy dad had a serious stroke in June 2024. He was discharged from Cottage Hospital on 14th August 2024 and we were assigned Homecare Unique by the hospital. We could not have wished for better care for my dad, who was bed bound. The teams were always happy and cheerful, always on time and extremely professional and knowledgeable.
The service provided for our mum was good, the staff all were friendly and caring. The only issue really that we had to flag up was the earliness of the morning calls, at one stage we phoned the office a few times and this was eventually dealt with, so would maybe say this is a communication issue as the messages didn't always get passed on to the next team. Other than that we thank you all for taking care of our mum and the most vulnerable time.
I'm writing this review after the passing of my father-in-law and feel that I must find a way to express the family's thanks to Homecare Unique. They started to care for my father-in-law at the end of May and I can honestly say it was a tough time, and having strangers in the house providing personal care took some getting used to. Throughout the ups and downs and the difficulties of caring for a patient with dementia and physical needs, the entire team remained incredibly professional, compassionate and friendly. Towards the end they were even more sensitive, gentle and kind, providing just the right level of support or care on each visit. They were able to read the situation each time and make the whole process as easy as possible. At the very end they went above and beyond what any carer would have to do and the family cannot thank the team enough for their compassion. We will be forever grateful.
The carers took over from urgent care workers visiting twice a day, quickly rising to four times per day. They are kind and courteous, always neat and tidy and caring. My only complaint was the long time gap between first and second visits, then the last three close together.
The care we received was excellent, the carers were so kind and thoughtful and made you feel at ease, highly recommend.
I wish to give a huge thank you to the team of carers from Homecare Unique Ltd, who supported my husband and I during his final days at home. They were all very kind professionals and clearly were all very experienced in the care they provided. The service they provided at a difficult time was amazing.
We had two carers each morning to get my husband out of bed, onto the commode, washed and dressed because he was on oxygen he couldn't only transfer a couple of steps to his chair. His breathlessness at this time became much worse also due to anxiety and therefore took much time. The carers were so kind and patient towards him and made him feel refreshed, clean and comfortable to face the day. I don't know what I would have done without them. They became our friends.
Homecare Unique has been providing care services to my father since his discharge from hospital in August 2022. From day one the service they have provided has been absolutely brilliant. Our dad (who is bedridden) and all the family can't thank them enough. The agency is 100% reliable - never missing a visit even when there have been roadworks, closures and traffic jams outside our home or severe weather, and they are always helpful and easy to contact if we have any questions. The team of carers are wonderful in every way - friendly, caring, kind, calm, gentle, professional, diligent and conscientious. They always treat our dad with dignity. Overall they are providing our dad with the best of care standards and we think they are an exemplar in homecare.
My dad was in the end stages of his cancer progression, and Homecare Unique came to our home to help with his personal care. All the carers that I met during their 3 visits each day were friendly, professional, empathetic and thorough. I thought they were outstanding in their approach, and I cannot thank them enough for all the kind and gentle help they provided for my dad. Management were also extremely efficient and helpful.
The care provided by Homecare Unique to my elderly mother wasn't requested by me, but put in place for support as my mother entered her last days. Visits were over 2 days and because my mother felt uncomfortable about the provision of personal care, my sister and I decided we could manage. The carers were punctual and mostly prepared and willing. My rating is based on the Needs Assessment, which highlighted some potentially serious incorrect information. Firstly, the name they stated my mother wished to be known by was wrong - not remotely similar to my mother's name. If my mother had dementia (which she didn't), such an error could be very unsettling and confusing. Secondly, is a statement my mother was doubly incontinent - wrong. My mother remained continent for the majority of the time. Finally, a reference to pressure sores - again, wrong. I imagine these errors arose from incorrectly amending another client's plan. This is a very careless and potentially unsafe practice.
My husband was end of life discharged from hospital with an estimate of days to live and had carers from Homecare Unique Ltd ME17 for 23 days. They came in pairs four times a day. One exception was one afternoon where my husband was missed from their list so two visits didn’t occur. However overall I would say we found the staff who visited our home as excellent. They were always empathetic, treated him with dignity, spoke to him not at him, incredibly careful with the personal care. They put him at ease every time they attended to him, finding new ways every day to distract him and take his mind off something he found uncomfortable and at times distressing. There were absolutely a couple of stand-out characters who he built an instant rapport with from the first visit on day one. They just got his personality. The whole team and we had about twenty in the nearly four weeks were all professional and made a hugely painful and distressing situation a little less so. Thank you.
We only used the service for less than a week and my husband refused a lot of the care offered so I can't really make a proper assessment of the staff but the management were very helpful. One of them even came with incontinence supplies from the office as I was on my own and couldn't leave my husband to get them. The district nurse and other team would not help. He recognised our need and responded to it for which I will be eternally grateful.
Very grateful for all the help given to my husband. The carers treated him respectfully and helped him to keep his dignity.
My father had two carers four times a day. All carers who came to see him were extremely kind and gentle in a lovely, friendly manner. We could not have asked for better care and we are very grateful to all the staff at Homecare Unique for making a stressful time a lot less stressful.
My profound thanks, and that of my family, for the care my husband received in the final days of his life. My husband passed away on 21/8/23. This is a very difficult time in a family's life, and most especially for my husband himself. Therefore the sensitivity and professionalism of those responsible for delivering his care is of utmost importance. We could not have been more thankful to the various carers who visited us, they understood how hard it was for my husband and put him at the forefront of their efforts, while checking in on our wellbeing throughout. Some individuals deserve a special mention. One carer, taking charge, guiding us when needed, offering support, advice and were always pleased to see him. Four other carers were all very professional, courteous and gentle with my husband both physically and emotionally. The whole team are amazing, their professionalism, understanding, tenderness, empathy and kindness are a credit. Our gratitude for everything they did for my husband.
The carers were very kind and caring, always very cheerful, and professional, always introduce themselves, and they were very respectful to Mum. Treated with dignity, and always talk to her, no need to contact management for any reason. I was reassured and very happy with the staff and company.
I have found the majority of the staff friendly, helpful and efficient. All of the carers have always treated my husband with the utmost patience and understanding and care. I can honestly say he looks forward to them coming. I also found the receptionist so helpful and she would find out about any query we had with an understanding and caring manner. Thank you all at Homecare Unique Ltd.
Lovely service assisting my wife's dignified death at home. Lovely care staff, very pleasant, very reliable. Professional company, looked after my wife and family very well. The staff were so professional.
The carers were mostly on time, pleasant and caring. They got on with things as needed. They treat my husband with respect and dignity. They knew exactly what they were doing. They cared about how I was feeling as well, they would come in to see how I was doing. The staff were always nicely dressed and professional at their job though I was a bit anxious at the start but they put my mind at rest. I really think this is the best company we could have had. I would recommend this company to anyone.
I would just like to say I can not thank the staff and carers who have cared for my mum after coming out of hospital. The carers were wonderful and very kind and helpful to my mum not with just the day to day but with their kindness and chatting to her. Made her day. Very high praise for them indeed! My mum will miss them. Thank you.
