View Full Details of Home Instead (Worthing & Steyning)I use Home Instead to provide overnight care for a client. The staff are all so caring and friendly and give my client the feeling of safety and well-being that she needs to continue to live safely at home with dementia.
My experience of Home Instead is very positive. The administration staff are very helpful and have managed to match the carer to the needs of my husband very well. Our carer is extremely professional and caring, she is a credit to her and your company. The training of your carers is excellent, please keep up the high standard.
My mum is living with Dementia and reached a stage we needed someone to support her once a week and keep her company. From the start Home Instead went out of their way to help and matched Mum up with somebody really special who bonded with Mum straight away. They've enjoyed the last year together and become good friends and I can definitely see an improved state of well-being in my mum as a result. Thank you, Home Instead. Would recommend it to anybody looking to support a loved one struggling with social isolation or specific care needs.
We have been using Home Instead as companionship (initially) for our widowed mother for the past four and a half years. After a lot of research and approaching several care companies, we had no hesitation in choosing yourselves and cannot imagine ever needing to change this. We have nothing but praise for your exceptional carers. Over the years, Mother has required a bit more than companionship and this has been communicated effectively in the notes left after every visit, leading to a proactive discussion and change of care plan required with your 'back room' staff. A fairly recent change in ownership has cemented your values perfectly. I would have no hesitation in recommending yourselves.
My mother is supported by Home Instead. Although she was initially reluctant to agree that she needed care, she is now very happy and looks forward to her visits. Her carers are kind and supportive, and generally keep good notes which helps me to keep an eye on what is happening with her (she has dementia so is not able to tell me much about what has happened). The relatively new management has been excellent, and I have been listened to and concerns responded to quickly.
Just wanted to give some feedback about my aunt's carers - they are so good, I can see from the notes that they’re getting to know her and figuring out how to help her mood if she’s having a grumpy day. It’s brilliant, especially when I can’t get there that often. I can really see how the company has changed for the better over the last few months. Thanks very much to the whole team involved in her care and organising everything, you really do bring peace of mind. (For info - I have power of attorney for my aunt but live 2 hours away. She has carers in her own home twice a day and has Alzheimer's).
Many thanks for all of your incredible support, your fantastic care assistants and your service that enabled Dad to stay at home for as long as possible. My parents speak with high regard of all the helpers they have had to date. Especially the ones who have come most consistently and they are already being missed now that my father has had to move into a care home as his needs are now highly complex.
Both management and care providers at Home Instead are understanding, kind, friendly, respectful and acknowledge my choice to have only female carers. I cannot praise them enough as they enable me to maintain as much independence as possible in my own home which is very important to me.
We chose Home Instead after a ‘not-great experience’ with another provider. We were first impressed with the thoroughness and warmth of the original assessment and interview. Since then the company has proved itself both professional and reliable, allowing our very elderly cousin to get to know and form a relationship with each of them. However it’s since her health has deteriorated that Home Instead have really proved their worth, the carers repeatedly going the extra mile and then some. It is now three times that a carer has found our cousin collapsed on the floor (the last time after being prematurely discharged from the hospital). Each time the individual carer has done everything in their power to make our cousin comfortable whilst ensuring prompt medical attention and keeping everyone, including us who live a long way from Worthing, well informed. But they have also disrupted their own day by refusing to leave her, once waiting hours, until help eventually arrived. Thank you!
My Mum recently lost her husband and is also suffering from Dementia. Living remotely from her we were considering residential care but Mum wanted to be at home. Home Instead were recommended to us. They not only provide exceptional care during their visits - administering medication, personal hygiene, cleaning and tidying, but also much needed companionship. After each visit, the carers also write a summary visit report detailing the time spent which makes it simple to keep track of the visits. I have no hesitation in recommending them if you are considering home care for yourself or a friend or relative.
The Manger has been extremely professional and thorough in preparing a comprehensive care plan. Her work has been time-consuming and all done without the assurance that my wife will be allowed to come home from a care home to be cared for by a Home Instead carer and me. The Manager has visited our home on three occasions and has given excellent advice and support.
I can't recommend this company highly enough. Both my brother and I live some distance from our father when we found it necessary to start looking at care in the Home. I did lots of research but I really liked the independent reviews that I had read about Home Instead and steered away from companies who can choose the content placed on their websites. I couldn’t be more pleased with the service and friendliness. Right from the outset, staff listened very carefully and was interested in our needs. Nothing was too much trouble. Initially, for many months, Dad was very reluctant to accept the help but slowly this changed with their friendliness. The assistance level from them has increased and absolutely nothing is too much trouble. He now looks forwards to his visits, shopping trips, hospital visits and welfare checks from the Caregivers and I honestly can say I don’t know what I would have done without them. I am more than happy to chat with anyone who can’t decide on a care company.
My cousin is 98 and was becoming increasingly frail and confused. She lived in Lancing and I live in Cornwall. It was becoming more obvious that she needed additional support but took some persuading that this should happen. Previously, she had relied on friends to a very great extent but this was not possible because of Covid 19. I approached Home Instead at Worthing, and they could not have been more helpful. We had a Zoom meeting to discuss what was needed and then a Zoom interview was arranged with my cousin, Home Instead and myself. I was kept fully informed from there on, all documentation was clear and I was particularly impressed with the level of fees and services provided. My cousin is now in a care home here in Cornwall, and the carers from Home Instead were invaluable in assisting making that move as easy as possible both for my cousin and for me. They assisted my cousin, in her confused state, to think about what she would need to take with her and to sort out packing.
The assessment was very quick and efficient. Staff all very friendly, conscientious and trustworthy. I would thoroughly recommend the service to friends and family. Happy to have our carer stay in our home overnight as I feel so at home with her.
From my first initial telephone enquiry to the implementation of an urgently needed care package for my elderly parents (who live at a distance from me), Home Instead have consistently provided a first-class service every step of the way. It is very easy to communicate with management staff who are compassionate, professional, reliable and quick to respond. The useful ‘access’ app gives me detailed up-to-the-minute information about the care my parents receive and summaries of their well-being after each visit. My parents speak highly of the carers themselves and I have reassurance and confidence knowing that mum and dad are receiving the care they need and deserve when I am not able to do it.
Mum has been a client of Home Instead for almost a year now, and I have nothing but praise for the care she has received. The service is extremely professional and reliable. The carers are all very well trained and look after Mum's physical and mental well being with just the right amount of support. When Mum has been poorly, they have looked after her until the paramedics can be in attendance and I can get to her. As the name implies Home Instead, has enabled Mum to remain in her own home and has given me confidence that she is safe there. Thank you.
We used this home-based care agency to take my mother out to appointments and on outings to access the local community. These trips were booked on an ad-hoc basis, sometimes at short notice (rather than being a regular pre-booked slot each week), so different staff came out to help, depending on availability. What impressed me most was that all the staff members that I met, or talked to over the telephone, were helpful, caring, friendly and reliable. I thought it impressive to have such consistency across the carers and was confident that whoever was available to help my mother would do a good job. My mother thoroughly enjoyed the carer's company whenever she went out.
Home Instead has been amazing. They are not your average care agency. My sister has six hours of help on a Thursday. Her carer is patient and helps her with swashing, shopping, preparing meals and recently bread making. It gives me a break, and my sister looks forward to her visits. Her carer is patent and kind. Nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommend; try it for yourself. 5 stars.
Excellent supportive service.
My father has been receiving personal care from Home Instead. He has been visited by the same caregiver for the majority of the week (5-6 days). We had an introductory meeting with the owner, who spent time talking to my father and asking him about his interests and how he liked to spend his time. We then had a follow-up meeting with my father's main caregiver, who, I'm delighted to say, he gets on with very well and looks forward to seeing every morning. The owner of Home Instead matched my father's needs accurately to his caregiver. It's great that he sees the same person for the majority of the week and so receives consistent care. I also like the fact that my father's carer is with him for an hour, which gives them time to complete the required personal care tasks and also time to talk. My father has really enjoyed this part of the care. It has been lovely for me to see him well looked after, and his needs for care and communication very well met. Thank you, Home Instead!
