View Full Details of Nationwide Care Services Ltd (Erdington)We can't thank the carers who attend to my husband enough. They treat him with respect and dignity. Nothing is too much trouble. They're also very vigilant, if they think there is a problem then they will let me know straight away. I feel that Nationwide is well-run and supportive to myself as well as my husband. Thank you!
Have received excellent service from Nationwide Erdington branch. The carers looking after my mother-in-law have been angels, so gentle and understanding with her. The last few months have been difficult, as her mobility has declined rapidly. There were 2 supervisors at the branch that helped arrange bed downstairs and equipment, couldn't have done it without them. Were there for us with advice and helped set up meetings with OT and social worker. Highly recommend Nationwide.
A manager at the home care provider was instrumental in supporting a friend of mine - she is the home care user. With the manager's swift action, we were able to avoid a heavy penalty that the service user would have incurred due to non-payment of a bill. By supporting me, and ultimately the vulnerable service user, the manager was able to provide the evidence needed to stop the claim against my friend.
I live in Worcester and my father lives in Birmingham Erdington. When I first found out that my father needs carers I was reluctant and I’ve heard nothing but poor feedback. It’s not easy for me to visit my father, especially since the pandemic. However, I am able to keep track of his care via this new app that they have created. It’s amazing. I know what time carers arrive and left and what they have done. When I do see him over the weekend he seems healthy and I can tell he has been well looked after. The one thing that does get annoying is the constant phone calls I get. I understand they want to keep me informed but I would get a call every day with minor things such as “your dad's regular carer is off so it’s going to be a replacement” or “carers are gonna be running 20 minutes late”. As long as he gets carers I’m happy.
They have been caring for my father for the last 2 years. They have always been on the ball. Even when the regular carer was leaving, they shadowed her with someone before they left and the new carer is just as good. If my father cancels his calls, the office always calls us to double-check. Once my father had a fall, the carer was with him for 4 hours waiting for paramedics. This company does go above and beyond and I cannot praise them enough.
Do not use this company. Some carers are ignorant with a rude attitude. Would not fully use the time allocated, and try to finish within 20 minutes of allocated 45 minutes, shower within 3 minutes, to a disabled person is amazing. If you complain, your complaint is not taken seriously and the same carer is sent, again and again, several times I had to ring them to inform that the carer has not arrived instead of lateness, no action is taken. I had to cancel some calls due to lateness, I had work instead,( I am the 80-year-old father) my son uses this company, had to cancel transport service several times, which had been booked to take him to the day centre. Received a call from social services; that they do not wish to care for my son, the reason given, I had a dog with behaviour issues. I have a small 11-year-old dog, who follows my daughter-in-law but would not come in when the carers were in any way, the dog is very friendly. I am not sure what behaviour problems they have encountered and was not clarified with family. Care behaviour attitude?
Do not use this company to care for your loved ones, the staff are untrained and lack compassion! The manager does not take complaints seriously and will never take responsibility for the lack of care their employees give your loved ones. This company has been caring for my Aunt who has Dementia for a few months now and we have had nothing but issues with them. Today my aunt was left with just a cardigan on no underwear, nothing because the carer had to get to her next call! She has Dementia, she cannot dress herself, it was just lucky her son went up this morning to check on her and found her like it. AVOID them at all costs. There are companies out there that will give your family members the right care they need. This company has no idea! I could write more but I'm hoping from this you get an idea of what kind of company they are.
