View Full Details of Audley Care RedwoodAudley Care offer excellent overall care. The office team do a great job of keeping me informed when they have been concerned about my Mum's health, I live overseas so they will email me or call me via video call. This is a great comfort to me to know Mum is in really good hands. My mum is very happy with the carers that come to the house, one of the key factors to this is she has the same 4 core carers, so she has been able to build up a good rapport with them and they too have been able to understand Mum's needs. Even due to holiday or sickness the carers that do come are the same ones so Mum is comfortable with them too. Routine is very important when you are older so having continuity in carers is so important. They also will accommodate whatever is required to support Mum in the time that they are there. I can honestly say I have met the carers that come to Mum and know them all by name. I have seen the care that my mum receives and it is of a very high standard from all of them.
Audley Care Redwood provide care services to my mother (90) and father (93) who live in their own flat at Audley Redwood. My mother has mild cognitive impairment and my father has various physical issues. They require assistance with personal hygiene, domestic chores and food preparation. Audley Care assessed their needs and assigned an excellent carer who quickly bonded with them and developed a good understanding of their real needs and filtered out their unrealistic demands without creating any problems. In the event my father is hospitalised Audley Care have put in place a short-term emergency care package for my mother who would require daily supervision for a short period. I know my parents wish to maintain their independence and Audley Care could not do any more than they do to make this possible.
Carers are reliable, cheerful, kind and very helpful. They have formed a good relationship with my mum and really help me who lives at distance by giving me information about letters, shopping needs and appointments. They are kind and happy to do whatever will help my mum.
My husband goes out with a carer four mornings a week. He goes very happily and is looked after well by the group of carers we have. It helps that there is consistency of time and carer. The group we have manage him well and cope with his quirks. It helps me immensely that I have this 2 hour break. I know that managing schedules can be difficult and that the managers do try to keep to the same timing each morning but consistency and routine is important for me as well as him. Management are always courteous and helpful. Value for money - dictated by the marketplace but for me it is value for money on account of the break it gives me.
When my mum returned from hospital she needed some help while she recovered. I was very grateful that the care was organised very quickly. All the carers I met were lovely and very supportive of Mum. The care is no longer needed but it gives me great piece of mind that we can reactivate it when needed.
Audley Care Redwood have been absolutely amazing in supporting Mum. The office team and also care workers are great! They have been a real lifeline to Mum and have given her so much independence. Would definitely recommend!!
The carers themselves are excellent overall and my mum built good relationships with many of them. As others have said, there were issues with rostering in particular and last-minute changes, sometimes without notice. The biggest issue, however, is my mum had to go to the hospital for a prolonged period of time earlier this year, the care was reallocated and we are told there is absolutely no capacity to take her back. Initially, this was due to her needing doubled-up care. Fair enough, but since then there has been no capacity for any daytime care. Not even ad hoc slots. Apparently, they can't recruit. There is nothing available and that has been the case for months. Yet I see Audley as a company that still advertises its care provision. My parents moved there specifically for the on-site care which is now no longer available to them.
Invariably late with no communication as to why or how long the delay. Variable competence and efficiency but willing to learn. I am concerned about the turnover of staff and would much prefer consistency with the daily carer in the mornings particularly. It is important for the client and carer to develop a relationship and if there is a problem to be honest about it.
I have housekeeping only (cleaning) and am completely satisfied.
I cannot speak highly enough of the way the staff have coped and made my stay at Audley most comfortable and enjoyable.
I have the loveliest cleaner in the world. She is punctual, thorough, and more than willing. A joy to have around.
We were provided with care as my husband was diagnosed as 'end of life'. We had had a few carers on and off but nothing regular as I had not liked the routine and the staff. Audley Care were receptive to our schedule/timings and have provided care with a group of about 6 regular carers. They are all delightful, bright, and professional. It is a pleasure to have them at our house.
Dementia causes so much confusion so it is helpful having the same group of carers - familiarity is important to both parties and is much appreciated. The cares have been sensitive and thoughtful with appropriate varying ideas to suit interest eg: walking, visiting nearby places, sketching. Time spent each week isn't a stressful experience but an enjoyable and friendly exercise. Thank you.
Brilliant carers. All have treated my husband with respect, dignity and care and I cannot fault them. My only complaint is I have never been asked by management or staff if it is OK to have an extra person shadowing and not notifying us when times have been changed.
My husband's companions are always cheerful, friendly and have the knack of raising his spirits and providing him with a memorable visit.
My staff are very good. They always support me with the tasks I need.
I have a very good care team. They really help me. I didn't want care to start with but now I am glad I have them. If it wasn't for my care team I wouldn't be able to live at home.
Until recently, different carers were sent each week but this month, the same person has been allocated to me. When the invoice is sent by head office, they sometimes forget to take to discount off, reducing the cost. This is resolved by a telephone call and the bill is paid by direct debit.
After a slow start with various problems, things are now improving.
Timekeeping was good. I'm quite particular about that. The work was fine - what I wanted ad attitude of staff good. However, it is expensive and that is the reason why I have ceased to use the service.
