View Full Details of Helping Hands Home Care (Torquay)There has always been a complete understanding of my wife's needs and the carers provided have always been totally appropriate. We have a regular arrangement for visits but alterations or additions to this are always accommodated in a helpful manner
Helping Hands carers are so lovely with my mum. They are trustworthy, professional and very friendly. They chat with my mum, bathe her legs, empty her commode and do anything that mum asks them. Once a week they change the patch on her arm. It is so reassuring for me and my brother to know the carers are reliable and professional.
The team have supported my mother and been a godsend in keeping her safe at home. They have also massively supported me going through this whole process of looking after an elderly parent. I can't thank them enough.
Helping hands are an excellent company, they care for my mother and understand her needs, time keeping is good and continuity of care. They always keep me informed if there is any issues regarding my mum, which is good as I live away from my parents. The carers are all so caring and understanding.
Very happy with the lovely staff. Who are very caring and very professional. Nothing is too much trouble. The management is excellent. We feel very well supported at this very difficult time for our family. The patient has been very happy with her carers.
My Mum is so happy with helping hands coming in to do her personal care. She finds all the girls so lovely and caring. She has enabling's on Tuesday and really enjoys going out with them. She makes it so much fun for my mum. The office staff are so lovely, especially one, they all try their best to accommodate all. They provide a rota which is good for Mum as she knows who is coming each day and provides the continuity of care that my Mum needs.
Mum has been using your services for the last four years as she has dementia but the family wanted to help her stay at home for as long as possible. The company have always been very professional and caring towards mums changing needs. I have met the majority of her carers with the company with one particular favorite of Mums being timetabled to visit as often as possible with her shifts. The company have always done their utmost to accommodate extra visits when needed and are always available to discuss any issues. Very happy that we chose this company for Mum.
Having had a very bad experience with another local care agency. I have found that Helping Hands have restored my faith in care agencies. They are professional, friendly and very supportive. Both my parents have dementia which is a challenge but the carers take it in their stride and provide caring and respectful help every day. A rota is provided by Helping Hands at the end of each week for the times of the following week which is great and a report on each visit by the carers is generated for you to read which is very useful as well. I am very happy to recommend them highly.
They have provided excellent staff to look after my mum and my aunt. They provide good feedback on the daily visits. They have been extremely helpful in coping with emergencies and providing changes when circumstances have changed.
Your carers look after my mum who suffers from dementia. I've not even met every carer who supports Mum, but the impression I have is that they are experienced and provide a consistently caring and sensitive response. My mum thinks they are kind. I've been using the service for just over three months and find the office/management team very positive and keen to work flexibly and collaboratively. I am also reassured that you seem keen to ensure that all guidelines are followed - this provides further reassurance that my mum is in good (Helping) Hands. A great start to a new situation in my life, and more importantly, my mums - keep up the good work all - you should be proud of what's been achieved to date.
My experience with Helping Hands has been pure satisfaction, without their help, life for me would be extremely difficult. During this pandemic, their help has been invaluable (shopping and posting letters). As I have no living relatives that live near me, their help was very important.
Helping hands have been so good since taking on my Mum. All the staff are friendly, caring and helpful. Nothing is ever too much trouble. They always leave detailed notes after each visit. I am always well informed, management keep in touch regularly to make sure we are happy. I am very happy and confident that my mum is being well cared for, and she is happy too.
We have been using Helping Hands for almost a year, but in April my mother had to go into hospital where she remained for over 4 weeks. When I was notified of mum's intended hospital discharge date I phoned Helping Hands and they organised for care to resume within a very short time span. I have also had to request additional care at fairly short notice, but this has all been arranged for me. The fact that arrangements are very flexible and I can have additional care as and when needed (so long as reasonable notice is given) is vitally important to me as mum's carer. Everyone I have dealt with has been very professional and considerate and a great deal of effort is put into meeting our needs, for which I am very pleased and grateful. I have already recommended the company to a friend, who has also now become a client.
My mum has Alzheimer’s and diabetes. She still lives at home on her own at the moment. She needs carers to prepare all meals which need to be to her taste and diabetic friendly. Her carers do her shopping, take her to appointments, prompt with personal care and most of all be a friend to chat to and play scrabble with. When not under Covid restrictions her carers also take her out for short walks and local visits to shops and cafes etc. I have just had my first proper visit with my mum for a year. I am so pleased with the care my mum is provided, she has regular carers so that Mum knows them and they get to know her. Her carers are lovely, I met two of them this week. They have a very good and friendly rapport with Mum, she enjoys a good giggle! They have been able to keep Mum's health stable and keep her in her own home, I am sure without their regular visits Mum would be in a nursing home by now. I am very grateful to Helping Hands and would highly recommend them.
